❓What about the characters? : There’s Sam who goes for errands one fine day, gets into danger but an unlikely saviour saved him that day. There’s our mysterious doggie whose mysterious appearance starts the story. And you know what?! In the news, there’s a precious dog missing.
And also there’s a series of missing things in the colony!
Here comes our unlikely team of young detectives (Sam and his book club buddies! You will love them! Two sets of twins: I wouldn’t be able to handle them if they were my chaddi friends! And another unlikely trio of good buddies added in the bunch!)
And there’s also the “uncle” who helps them dig for clues. I find these parts quite adventurous and interactive for the young readers. They will have lots of fun and will feel as if they are a part of the “detective “ book club team.
We will solve the mystery before the book ends. This I assure you and you will totally be happy about it.
I hope there are more books coming as a series. The characters need recognition. And above all, the author needs more recognition for the book which fits perfectly for the young readers!

It is an incredible mystery set in a middle-grade world that held my attention until the end. It is about Sam and his friends who are running a book club called The Mystery Maniacs and they love reading mysteries by Mashoor Lekhak. They are, however, excited to find out that Mashoor Lekhak has become Sam’s next-door neighbor. But this joy does not last long as there is a real-life mystery in their condominium.
These include Dasher’s dog, bottles of milk, jewelry among others disappearing and surprisingly it is Sam who becomes the lead suspect. With Zayn, Zara, and Sophia his friends, they want to exonerate him so as to identify the true mastermind behind what happened. Their sleuthing efforts are both ingenious and collective such that it is thrilling how they put together bits of jigsaw puzzles to solve the puzzle.
The author creates suspense through her narrative style making you read on. Characters are well rounded and relatable; hence friendship goals can be seen all over. This book will make a good read for children aged below thirteen years because apart from being enjoyable like other mysteries it also teaches them about trusting each other as well as loyalty to their peers.
I loved the way the story constantly kept me guessing and the manner in which the book club children collaborated to solve the puzzle. I highly recommend 'In the Woof of Time' as an enjoyable read for kids who are fond of mystery stories or adventures.

1) The story is about Sam. Sam and his friends loved reading and they often read mystery books written by Mr. Mashoor Lekhak. This lekhak is also a neighbour of Sam. At once Sam and his friends became shocked to know this, but they absorbed it slowly, out of excitement and curiosity.
