This Sahitya Akademi winning Manipuri novel has been translated into English by Kh. Kunjo Singh. The translation is very poor and there are glaring grammatical errors. At times it becomes difficult to even understand what has been translated. The novel is at best a depiction of the daily lives of people and their dreams. Do not expect an engaging peep into Manipuri culture and ethos. There are too many plots and sub plots which makes it a poor read.
