On another adventure through the mirror in the magic attic, Rose assists famous magician Peter Presto in an internationally televised performance in Salzburg, Austria
This one was ok. As always I liked the moral of the story, however the magician theme was kinda corny because I’m not too into that. But I guess it’s cute for the targeted age group. And I liked that she traveled to another country. I like the ones where they do that. Only this one didn’t have a section at the end telling us about Austria. I love to travel I wish I could travel through a mirror! Only I have no idea how I’d be able to keep it a secret that id been to all these cool countries. Just not one of my favorites of this series and I believe this is actually one I never read as a kid.
This book emphasizes Rose's growth to overcome stage fright, and even though the big magic trick goes unexplained, the story provides some satisfying explanations for other interesting tricks. I also enjoyed the travel element, since this book is based in Austria. Overall, when I was reading this series as a child, I preferred the books that were set in the real world, since the purely fantastical settings never had enough world-building.
I wish these books had gotten more attention. They were good reads but most girls in my class viewed them as American Girl knockoffs, since you could buy dolls and outfits to match each book. I loved the fantasy element.
