Elided Endings is the third and final book in the Deserted Lilies trilogy and will take you back to all your favorite characters to see if they'll find their happily ever after.
Kris Vanc (pen name) is a thirty something living in The Netherlands. She writes smutty books, because once she fell down that rabbit hole there was no getting out of it. Mostly because she's a giant klutz and once she's down she can't get back up. Oh well. Between working and her family, she writes what the voices tell her during the day. No worries, her therapist assures you she's somewhat sane.
Loves a good character development, redemption, banter and jokes. Give her a book, coffee, something to eat (anything really) and she's good to go. Large collection of book boyfriends. Has a weird obsession with serial killers.
"Elided Endings" is the final book in the "Deserted Lilies" series, and it was so bittersweet to say goodbye to these characters... I absolutely loved this book from start to finish, and all the emotions within this final book truly touched me along the way. Somehow it felt like the author poured a bit of her own emotions in this final book, and while we feel te intense love these characters feel for each other, we can feel a bit of the love the author has for them as well... Right now, I'm sad to say goodbye to them alongside with her.
This book is probably the most emotional out of all three, simply because it's the first time these characters have to make the conscious decision whether they want to stay together or not. Before this the tour kept them together, but now they are back on their own turf, where they all have their own homes to go to. The relationship building taking place in this final book was truly wonderful, and I loved seeing them all come together and truly choose to be together. Despite all that, there is still the danger of Victorious, and the MC is back in full force now Evan is back in the US. I had no idea how the author was planning on wrapping up that part of the storyline, but I really loved what she did there.
So now, I have to say goodbye to Wolf and all these other wonderful characters. I hope to see them back some time in the future, in other books, and in the mean time a reread might be needed to keep my soul satisfied while waiting for whatever comes next. I loved to see some other characters from previous series pop up in this book, so I hope she will come up with some surprises in the future as well. That being said: this is one of my favorite authors out there, so if you stumbled upon this series and are wondering about her other works: don't doubt it, just start it. I promise you'll love whatever she writes.
Kris Vanc concludes her Deserted Lilies trilogy with Elided Endings in style intense, compelling, and surprisingly vulnerable. Where previous volumes laid the foundation of love, loss, and self-discovery, this final chapter is the crescendo that puts everything to the test.
Evangaline Hart, or just Evan, returns to American soil with 4A after a European tour full of music and magic. What was supposed to be a period of rest turns into a psychologically charged struggle: with herself, with life in the spotlight, and with a dangerous past that refuses to let her go. The threat of her ex looms like a shadow over her regained freedom, and Vanc knows how to portray this danger in a raw and tangible way, without sensationalism.
What makes this book so powerful is the balance between adrenaline and emotion. The scenes range from high-stakes action to quiet moments of introspection, friendship, and love. 4A once again feels like a real family messy, loyal, funny, and unpredictable and Evan’s journey to feel at home within this group is particularly compelling.
The themes of healing after trauma, queer love, artistic expression, and building a future despite a broken past are written with a sensitive hand. Vanc writes with rhythm, as if each chapter is a track on a carefully composed album.
Elided Endings is a worthy finale to a unique trilogy. The story bursts with energy but never forgets the heart of the characters. For readers who love powerful LGBTQ+ stories with rock ’n’ roll vibes and psychological depth, this is a must-read. And for those who’ve already met Evan: her final notes will echo long after the last page.

Evangeline and 4A's story is like an enchanting song. These sweet and unusual characters immediately capture your attention. Their unique friendships, issues, and quirkiness touch your soul. And in this world, you lose yourself. You want to be a part of this universe so you can belong to this 'found' family, and music, emotions, and love do exactly that. If you ask me, this series is where Kris Vanc found her voice and style. And it's beautiful.
A beautifully written story of Evangaline's desire to enjoy life to the fullest. She slowly healed herself and everybody around her. In my honest opinion, the found family trope has never been this beautiful. The issues weren't easily resolved. These are lovers, not fighters. They are artists and musicians, and they continue to be that way in the end. According to what I usually read, it is challenging to achieve in this genre.
They grow up but they did not lose themselves in the darkness. Again, the author has achieved her goal. I expect incredible stories from the author in the future. She is talented.
The story is now finished, and I hope that everyone has a chance to read it.
Ok, I hate when a swris starts really well, and each book that passes you realizes this all could be one book. All 3 books are pretty much about the guys' past hangup and addictions, very little of the plot of the mmc coming after Evan, which when they did the chapters didn't make sense. It's like you finally have a moment for suspense, and she woild fumble it. I loved all the characters and the found family. But this needed to be only one book. Was happy when her and xem finally got together, but lord, that was way too many books for this story.
I’ve devoured everything Kris has written and this series is no different. I especially love this book because it focuses a lot on the guys and their stories and personal growth while also wrapping the series up nicely. So many times the conflict resolution and end of a series feels rushed but that’s not the case here. It was a perfectly paced conclusion.
Kris also gets the award for best supporting characters: Pip, Wyse, Kyle, Dom. They’re all amazing. 🥰
What a good ending for a great series. Evan and 4A get there happy ever after. I loved Wyse, he was such a fun addition to the group. I loved the cameos from the telling of time series, which I can’t wait to read more of their story. The characters in this series were so well developed you could really feel their growth from beginning to end. I’m very excited to see what else this author can do in the future.
This finale was literally everything I hoped it would be and more. It had everything, including even more found family and being yourself dynamics. I still cannot get over how visceral and real these characters feel. I feel like I know them all and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of Evan... Or the guys for that matter. Thank you Kris for another satisfying read. And PS! I loved the cameo!!
3 star series at many times it dipped to 2 star but after thinking it over between all 3 books i think it scraped by and got 3 stars
Evans monologues were boring and I hated how she kept on brining up that the real rockstar was the mom Keisha like ok i get it cute once but she says it way too often and she got really annoying. By the end of book 2 i was done with this series but ai mad myself read book 3. But ya I would not reread this series it had way too much boredom and was way too long.
The Deserted Lilies Series is wonderful. It’s wildly far fetched (lol) but incredibly “real” and “raw.” You truly watch as Evangeline changes the lives of her guys…and in doing so finds her own way, her own true voice. It’s a wonderful contemporary rock RH that features a feisty, sweet, genuine FMC, and the 4 men ;so different from each other) that win her heart, as she solidifies herself in theirs.
Rating is for the series as a whole. Liked the story. Loved the characters and their development. Some things, like with most romance fiction, you just have to overlook as ridiculous and/or unrealistic. What kept this from being 5 stars were the excessive amount of typos throughout all three books. Some sentence structures were so poor that I had to read them a few times to even figure out what it was meant to say. A few more pass-throughs before publishing were really, really needed.
With each book of the series, the lack of an editor was less of an issue - but that problem was still present.
Even with that, I really loved this series. Great characters, wonderful relationships, perfect tempo. The story jumped the shark a little with the MC bombing, kidnapping, and takedown by FBI, but still a good ending.
Will we get a spinoff with Dominic? What about Kyle and Angel? Abby and her men back in Oregon?

I’m soooo late to post this but life got in the way and my brain also did not help!
Anyway… this is such a bittersweet goodbye to these characters 🥹🥲 I loved how we FINALLY got more of Xem with Evan and how we got to see the relationship with them all maturing and evolving to something more and better.
I’ll miss this story. Thank you Kristi for 3 amazing books!!!
This was a fantastic series. I really loved Evan and her guys. The music and the way the creation process came to life was magical. Sometimes heartbreaking sometimes humorous but always riveting.
i thought i would be bored, but nope. i really enjoyed the series. the characters are fun and well thought out. the story line is different and thats a good thing. now im going to look up more books by this author.
