The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 with the Baptist Catechism

Rate this book
This is the1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith or the Second London Baptist Confession. It was written in England with a Calvinistic lens and first published in 1677 under the title "A confession of Faith put forth by the Elders and Brethren of many Congregations of Christians, Baptized upon Profession of their Faith in London and the Country." Wanting to demonstrate their orthodox lineage, these Baptists based their Confession on the First London Baptist Confession of Faith (1644), Westminster Confession of Faith (1646), and the Savoy Declaration (1658). However, they modified the content to reflect Baptistic views on the church and baptism. And according to historical records, it was published again in 1688 and 1689.
