An Oracle Bay Novel #5

Tempest in a Teapot

Rate this book
Welcome to Oracle Bay, the town where the psychics already knew you were coming.

Morgana has spent the last year undercover in sweater sets and pearls, searching for a magical serial killer. When she follows a lead to Ireland, she sets off an unforeseen chain of events – a death in Oracle Bay and the waking of an ancient curse.

Donovan Davies is a thorn in Morgana’s side and possibly the killer she’s been hunting. He’s also the only one who can see past the façade she’s honed for centuries to find the way to her heart.

Morgana can’t deny the heat between them. However, she knows she’s not only risking her own life by falling in love, but the life of the one person who’s been by her side for centuries. But if they don’t find the person harvesting power with black magic, it’ll be more than her heart that’s in danger.

Amy Cissell is a USA Today Bestselling Author of urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels. She lives in Portland, OR with her husband, her haunted house-obsessed daughter, their two cats, and the murder of crows she's conspiring to turn into her vengeful army.

When she's not working or writing, she's sleeping because that's all she has time to do! There are few things Amy loves more than a well-timed pun, a good book, a glass of wine, and making calf eyes at Portugal when she thinks no one’s looking.

Although she reads anything and everything, her first love has always been fantasy. Eleven-year-old Amy discovered fantasy when she 'borrowed' her father's copy of The Hobbit and an enduring love affair (mostly with dragons) was born.

I have really enjoyed this series, and I was so darn excited to see another one in the series. Oracle Bay is an interesting place, and we see another character put front and center. Morgana is a very private and hard to get to know character, and we find out a reason why in this one: she is an undercover spy for an organization and she has been on a case for a while. When that case collides with her town, she’ll do anything to protect it. I was extremely happy with this book as I couldn’t figure out who the villain was. I had ideas, but the author was skillful at red herrings. Then the end hit…I was so darn angry! LOL! The end was a dozy, but I’m glad that one thing I didn’t think would get resolved might actually in the next one. Looking forward to the next one. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I love Morgana so much after this story. Paska gets more information revealed about him too! I hope he will have the next story, when Morgana's is finished.
There's a hook for a 2nd Morgana story, not a cliffhanger. It kind of feels like a cliffhanger but the story that was set out is complete. And it's a doozy! The characters are so vivid, the story itself was good, and the only missing elements will likely come out in the next story.
There are curses and bonds, mystery and mild romance, friends and family-both related and found. I do love Oracle Bay. I'm excited for the next story for Morgana and seriously hoping for a Happy for Now, if not HEA ending for her.

Well Amy Cissell did it again! I read this book in one sitting. Loved it!
One problem I didn't realize it was book 6 in the Psychics of Oracle Bay series and I haven't read the first 5 books. The author did a good job explaining most things from the previous stories in the series so it wasn't hard to follow. Now I want to read the first 5 books in the series.

The storyline has everything you want in a witchy way. It flowed smoothly and kept my interest from the very first chapter. I really like Morgana and Paska they have a long history together and it makes a great back story. But Morgana is cursed she can't fall in love but in walks Donovan Davies and makes things difficult not to mention a pain in Morgana's tushy. But falling in love puts her in danger and someone close to Morgana.

The story has curses, close friend relationships, dead bodies, mystery and intrigue. I loved it.

Highly recommend if you like cozy mysteries with witches and some romance.
