Unforgettable releases March 18, 2023
This is the second book in the Murphy’s Law series and I would recommend reading the first book before this if you haven’t already.
Told in 3 pov’s, we have Amanda, Reed, and Josh who explore being in an MMF relationship after having a close friendship for more than 10 years.
We originally got to meet them in “Unexpected” (Josh being Luke’s brother), where we learned that these three had a very memorable threesome one night in July.
The start of this story finds us at Luke and Hazel’s wedding rehearsal. It’s been nearly a year and a half since Amanda, Josh, and Reed found themselves together, and despite trying to ignore their feelings or that night altogether, things start to catch up and they can no longer brush off the tension.
Both men want Amanda, so they agree to each take her on a date where the end result would be her choosing one of them… but what if she didn’t have to choose?
This definitely delivered in the spice department. There was no shortage of scenes throughout, ranging from MF, MM, and MMF combinations.
I was cautious at first with the two strong alpha personalities and the competitiveness over Amanda, but eventually it all worked out.
Although we got all three perspectives to read from, I felt that this lacked the necessary on page dialogue between Josh and Reed to strengthen the believability of their dynamic of the relationship, especially since this part of their sexuality was so new and out of the box for them. I just wanted more showing instead of telling between the two male leads — two good examples of this would have been when CJ showed up at her door and they’d established what they were within 30 seconds of her answering the door, or when it was written in the space of one sentence that they'd considered buying a house and moving in with Amanda. It just felt like their lives especially were lived more outside of the book we got.
Some things I loved were the movie dates and quotes, the pivot scene, and seeing Josh navigate co-parenting with each parent having significant development with their respective partner(s).
I’m excited to see what will transpire between James and Ivy in book 3!!
