TRADE by Nick Christie (Gay Erotic Fiction - Not for the easily offended. Strong BDSM)
Have you ever wanted your inner darkest desire fulfilled, no questions asked?
London’s Soho, historically a pleasure zone for the city, is now gentrified! Well, almost…
Gay escort agency TRADE is holding its place on Beak Street, albeit an outdated, down-at-heel position, servicing clients’ darkest desires - for the right price.
Recently bereaved, Stuart, the boss, faces the challenge of dragging TRADE’s services into the present. His hot team is talented, that much is clear and can cater for a wide range of punters needs but business is scarce; clients are moving to hookup apps and Stuart doubts he can revamp the business he began eighteen years earlier with his late partner, Brad.
Change, however, comes in the shape of not one, but two handsome strangers who enter his life unexpectedly, each satisfying a different need.
Is this the end for the troubled brothel or a new beginning?
Nick Christie is a British novelist who loves to explore his interest and passions in his books. Reasonably new to writing, Nick started as a hobby, and very quickly began to enjoy the creativity and exploring the relationships with his characters. Many of the first stories cover his love of leather and how it is used and enjoyed in gay life. The stories have strong sex scenes, but are balanced with story telling.
Nick lives in central England with his husband and two cats. Having travelled the world through his previous jobs in Marketing, Nick likes to bring different locations to his books to increase their interest.
Life as a male escort (with bells)! “Trade” is the name of the business. Predominantly M/M but there’s the odd straight here too. A good story line. This is my favourite Nick Christie to date. Not for everyone I suppose, especially those of a delicate disposition.
I couldn’t wait to read this, but I have to admit I was scared I wouldn’t like it. Nick had said that this was different from his other books. Since I loved all of them, I was afraid of different.
I shouldn’t have worried. This book was great . It’s still the same writing style which I find so easy to read. There’s still lot of leather and hot sex. And best of all there’s wonderful characters you grow to really care about. I didn’t want this story to end so I’m hoping for a sequel. I highly recommend this book, especially if you love alpha leather men and a dose of bdsm.
Gritty and honest tale of Trade, a gay escort agency in London.
Stuart must find a way to move on with his life after his husband's death and a way to revamp the slowly deteriorating business they'd opened together. He's not expecting a huge secret from his husband's past to turn his world upside down, but is determined to deal with it with understanding.
The stories of men working at Trade, as well as the new ones who come into Stuart's life, are full of super hot, descriptive encounters with their clients.
A perfect, one-handed read for a BDSM and leather lover!
Even though this book is not a romance with a definite HEA, it leaves the reader satisfied with the ending.
This is another very entertaining Nick Christie book with an authentic look into the London leather scene. Stuart is owner of TRADE, a gay escort service that employs a handful of men. He has recently buried his long-time partner and co-owner of the business. The service has not kept up with changing times and it no longer has the business it once had. When Stuart's partner's will is read, there is a further surprise.
This book jumps scenes around various escorts and other persons to present a more holistic view of the various circumstances in which people find themselves. It is, for the most part, a good group of people who have made a family of friends for themselves. I usually read and review MM romance. There is really not much romance in this book beyond a bit of a MF relationship and also a business owner grieving the loss of his partner. It is a really rich story of friendship and camaraderie. It's a peak into a different world told from the perspective of these who know and appreciate it. The book is left in a good place, but there is an opening for a follow-up book at some point in the future. If that book gets written, I'll look forward to reading it.
Trade by Nick Christie is 5-star plus read. The journey along the streets in Soho in the west end of London is extremely exhilarating, the people are diverse, a variety of dining, night clubs and shopping options and in amongst all that business is a Gay Escort Agency called Trade.
Nick’s writing is extremely impressive his writing style makes the book so easy to read. The characters are first-rate and are very skilful in their profession. Nick’s words draw you into the pages where I didn’t want to leave. Every character is so very believable I felt as if I knew them. Very easy to recommend this terrific read.
Was excited to see a new book from Nick Christie. Another great read. Set in a brothel in soho London. Lots of hot action from the team at Trade but for me I truly love the characters. The way you get to know each of them. Nick has created another group of believable people I’d actually love to meet.
It’s got a lot of different kinky action to keep the heat going, but the relationships is what I really loved. I would love to read more of his work. But the wait always seems worth it.
Nick Christie Is an amazing author Another great read Trade is set in soho London, which I did not well as I had a bar not in soho, but I had friends. What did. Nick characters are so believable. I love how Nick characters relationships work together 5 star plus Thank you, Nick. I'm looking forward to the next book
Again Nick Christie has put together a great group of characters. All the way back to his first book, Misfits, this seems to be his trademark. People you enjoy getting to know, from the good to the bad. A fun, frustrating and hot read. So very hot! After almost 400 pages, I still wanted more of this group. Maybe a Trade 2.0? Highly recommended!
I'm always eager to read a new book from Nick Christie. I was hooked up at the 1st chapter as I was very intrigued. Once again Nick Christie brought me out of my comfort zone and I loved it!
This book revolves around 'Trade', an escort agency and we get inputs from each and every employee. This book is not your usual dual character with dual POV. Once this is clear we get to know the characters and each of their personalities. This is extreme BDSM and not for the faint hearted; punishments, absolute humiliation, boot licking and more. It is relentless and full on. This book will make you question and will make you think about your own kinks. It has grit and isn't always pleasant. This is not to be confused with a romance novel with HEA. It felt very real and unapologetic; at times I wasn't sure whether to be turned on or terrified! Nick Christie is a new-to-me author and I will be checking out more of his books.
DNF after just a few pages. One thing that turns me off of a book almost immediately is a total lack of sentence variety, and this book is a stunning example of same. Four pages in, and nothing but declarative sentences, all in the same format. So stodgy, elementary, and boring; I'd almost rather the misspellings and dreadful grammar, though it's a toss-up. Sorry, Guy Named Nick---although, you have a lovely overall rating, so my inability to engage shouldn't be a thing.
As always I couldn’t put this book down. I loved meeting all your new leather and kinky boy/men characters. They have some great personalitys triggering my brain and fantasy. Fantastic as always and I am looking forward to Nicks next hot novel
Reviewed in Australia 🇦🇺 on 3 April 2023 This is my first book by Nick Christie and I enjoyed it a lot and didn’t want it to end! I wasn’t sure what to expect going in to a BDSM story but feeling so much for each character wasn’t on the cards. I really felt I got to know the other guys and although I know this is a standalone I can’t help hoping for a follow up story. I’m off to choose my next read from Nick Christie.….❤️
