A one-night stand with a sexy stranger seems like a great idea, until he turns out to be my new billionaire boss…
When the gorgeous guy I meet in the bar on my last night in Auckland asks if I’d like to go back to his hotel room, I have to think about it. For a whole second. Tomorrow, I’m leaving the city. I’m finally escaping my calamitous life. So I throw caution to the winter wind. There’s no downside to a one-night stand with a hot young businessman, right?
After the most intense and passionate night of my life, I do my Cinderella act and slip away. I’m disappointed to leave him behind, but desperate to start over.
Unfortunately, disaster is determined to follow me across the country. I can’t find a permanent secretarial position in the whole of Wellington and have to resort to temping. The one room available for rent in the city is damp, the size of a matchbox, and beneath a herd of elephants. And my no-strings-attached fling results in a complication I’m totally unprepared for.
Convinced I’ve reached rock bottom, I begin a new temp job. I walk into the office, and bump straight into my mystery man. The odd thing is that he doesn’t recognize me. He seems determined to act as if we’ve never met. And then he reveals he’s the CEO, and my new boss…

USA Today bestselling author Serenity Woods writes small-town romances about strong, capable men who work harder and love harder. Most of her stories are set in Aotearoa New Zealand, where she lives.
This was such a sweet and heartwarming romance read!!! Saxon and Catie were wonderful characters I enjoyed their journey and Saxon’s family was wonderful and supportive.
The healthcare and programming technicalities were slightly tiring and boring and the mcs’ arguments could have been fewer.
While it’s a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
I told myself I would try and read a more 'regular' contemporary. By that I mean, no 'dark' elements, no erotica and no 'kinky' stuff. Just regular people... ・ ・ ・ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕮⋆˚࿔✎𓂃 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Cinderella and The Billionaire Boss ticked all my boxes, I smiled, I swooned, I giggled but more importantly Catie with a C and Saxton’s journey left me smiling and wanting more from the Wellington Billionaires. I knew as soon as I picked this book up that I was reading something very special and I wasn’t disappointed because this book got better with every page I read. This is a real life Cinderella story with wonderful characters, some of whom we have met before but you do not need to have read any of the previous books to enjoy this stand-alone. I have no hesitation in recommending this love story to all romance lovers because I’m sure like me once you meet some of this characters you will want more and once again the wonderful description of New Zealand from Serenity Woods has me needing to visit and experience these two islands for myself.
I received an arc from the author for an honest review.
A Cinderella story you will love, I was hooked from start to finish. Saxon and Catie characters were a delight to read. The love Saxon has for Catie was undeniably from there first meeting. My heart broke when Catie told Saxon wha she went through with her step family. Serenity has written a fabulous book. Moving onto Kip book 5⭐️
Loved this so much ! Catie is such a strong resilient character you can’t help but love her ! And when she meets Mr Billionaire and they bond over being geeks it makes you melt ! Loved this from start to finish ! Fave one so far in this series
- no third act breakup - low angst - fairytale elements - smart FMC, lovable MMC - no miscommunication - spice throughout - they stick together and the second half of the book is like an extended epilogue
Catie, our Cinderella complete w evil step mother and awful step sisters, meets our hero, Saxon, a sexy/nerdy/kind billionaire when out for drinks for her last night before she moves. They hit it off, have a ONS and then she leaves.
She winds up temping at his company and faints when she sees him, clearly not realizing that he worked there. We then learn that she’s pregnant w twins.
The bulk of the story is them getting to know each other as she moves through her pregnancy. She is used to taking care of herself and has to learn to trust him, his feelings, and her intentions. They have such wildly different life experiences and we get to see them learn to understand each other.
There’s some minor intrigue w a mysterious car that seems to keep following her, but it only adds to the fairy tale.
He is amazingly compassionate and believes in her from the beginning. Even when he is unsure about the truth he trusts her. She also sees him for who he is beyond his wealth. She is an amazingly talented programmer and has her own skills and is show to be more than a hapless victim of poverty and a terrible upbringing.
If you’re in the mood for a sweet, feel good, low angst read. This is for you.
Wonderful! In Cinderella and the Billionaire Boss, the author took a few tropes I'm not normally fond of and spun me a story I thoroughly enjoyed.
Catie and Saxon randomly meet in a bar in Auckland. Saxon is in town for business and Catie is having a final night out before she moves to Wellington. Some nerding out about Doctor Who and a bit of dancing lead to a passionate one-night stand. With no plans to keep in touch, Catie slips out of Saxon's hotel room, sad it's over, but ready to start her next chapter. Catie hasn't has the easiest life, so has saved and laid out a plan, including a job and lodging, for her new life in Wellington. A series of surprises don't lead to things getting better. Accidentally bumping into Saxon, (her new boss!) on her latest temp position is another shock she really doesn't need. Is it even possible to pick up where they left off?
No idea how this happened, but two tropes I generally dislike, Cinderella-style romance and unexpected pregnancy, were done so well! Saxon is extremely well-off financially, whereas Catie can't even afford proper food to keep from from going hungry. A big reason I enjoyed Cinderella and the Billionaire Boss was due to how Catie and Saxon worked together to let Catie keep her sense of self and independence, but acknowledge she is pregnant and needs to take better care of herself. I cannot stand this idea in romance, where in order for a character to be considered "strong," they have to reject any and all help and stand on their own. No matter if they are going through, any assistance is weakness.
Catie and Saxon were characters I really cheered for. Their reactions to their situation was realistic and there wasn't a point I got frustrated with their actions. Catie didn't keep wallowing in her sad situation, but didn't immediately jump into this fantasy world where all her problems were taken care of either. Saxon had to temper his instincts to do whatever he could to help Catie. One of my favorite scenes was Saxon confronting a problem from Catie's past. Afterward, he admitted to her what he did and how ashamed he felt that he didn't fully believe Catie's retelling of how bad the issue was. (A partner who owns up to their mistakes in an honest way is sexy.)
While I wasn't into the wealthier aspects of Saxon's life, e.g. his parents' house, less thought into the cost of things, I absolutely get the point was to compare the abject poverty of Catie's reality. I was sad about some of the aspects of Catie's upbringing in Auckland, especially in regards to how her home life was able to get as bad as it did. Much like Saxon's wealth, this was clearly a counterpoint to the safe, loving family he grew up with.
Considering how Cinderella and the Billionaire Boss was so enjoyable, even with my prejudice against certain tropes, this might be my favorite of the series so far.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is a perfect modern day Cinderella story. Saxon meets up with friends in a bar in Auckland, and on the way in he notices a girl with red hair, which he likens to the colour of a tiger. Later. In the evening they have occasion to talk, and discover they have similar tastes in music, television programmes and humour. They end up spending ages on the dance floor. Catie with a C, which she has called herself, agrees to go back to his hotel with him, she never indulges in one-night stands, but she is moving to Wellington the next day, so she doesn’t have to worry about ever seeing him again. When Saxon wakes up the next morning - she has vanished! Five months later Catie is struggling. She has very little money and temping is the only job she can get. She gets a phone call for an immediate temping job, and sets off, walking to the office. It starts pouring with rain, she doesn’t have an umbrella and is soon soaked. To add to her woes, the person who is employing her - is Saxon! She faints! Saxon is shocked! He sees the woman he has been thinking about for the last five months, and she is very pregnant! It cannot be anything to do with him her pregnancy is too far advanced. Nevertheless he still has feelings for her, and call a friend who is a gynaecologist and arranges an appointment for her, which they go to together. The scan shows she is having twins (like him), they are identical (like him and Kip), and yes, it is most likely they are his time wise. And so begins a rollercoaster few months for them both. Saxon is horrified about how her life has been, and she has to get used to spending money, and having a lot of people interested in her. She cannot believe that Saxon really has any interest in her in her pregnant state, and only wants his sons. That is a huge hurdle for him to overcome. Once they have settled the issues it is bliss all the way! Once the babies are born their happiness is complete. Serenity is extremely good at writing emotions, you can ways feel what the characters are going through, and never too extreme- always believable. A good story, full of the aah factor.
It is a testament to Serenity Woods beautiful story telling that I feel as though I know this wonderful family, yes, this is a standalone but why wouldn't you want to read the series ? They were drawn together in an Auckland bar, him handsome in his expensive three piece suit, her with her beautiful, red hair, freckles dressed head to foot in black, probably all from a charity shop. Catie with a C didn't do one night stands but she threw caution to the wind, tomorrow she was leaving for Wellington and a new life, but would she ever forget the torrid night of passion with the handsome stranger ? Saxon wakes up alone in his hotel room, the beautiful flame haired girl had left, he knew that it was only a one night stand but he couldn't get her out of his head and whats more, he had no means of finding her ..........but he kept the shamrock earing that he found in his bed. Catie's life had been hell at the hands of her stepmother and her two stepsisters, she was mentally abused and bullied to such an extent that she found living on the street a better option. When she arrived in Wellington she knew that she had to find work, she had taught herself computer skills but the only job that she could find was temping .When she turned up for her job at a prestigious computer company she found the building bright and modern, the staff very friendly and then she met her boss.........her one night stand, he didn't even recognise her, everything went black as Catie fainted. This story follows the love story of Catie and Saxon, of Catie's insecurities, of her pride, of her feeling love for the very first time, of feeling it hard to accept. Of Saxon, desperately in love with Catie but not daring to push it in case she ran again, of his wonderful family and friends accepting Catie and not judging. I loved that the author had obviously done a lot of research into the computing world, and the areas visited, a well deserved five stars. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
Catie’s Cinderella back story was heartbreaking. I’m so glad she found Saxon.
“I don’t want to sit down,” I insist. “It’s just… don’t you recognize me?” Puzzled, he shakes his head. “I don’t think we’ve met before. I’m sure I’d remember.” He’s being polite. There’s no sign of the attraction he exhibited toward me before. “But… the bar,” I say softly. “We danced for an hour… I sang the Doctor Who theme… and then we went back to your hotel…” His eyebrows rise then, and he says, “Ohhh…” He exchanges another glance with Marion. “Ah,” she says. He lifts a finger. “Hold on a moment.” He walks backward to the other office. He’d left the door open, and I can hear music coming from there—it’s the Beatles’ Come Together. He looks around the door, and says to the person inside, “Saxon? I think you should come out here.” Wait, what? A guy says something from the other office, and the man in front of me says, “Dude, just come here.” There’s a muffled curse, the sound of a chair rolling backward, and then footsteps crossing the office. The first man moves to one side, and then another guy appears in the doorway. He’s the exact double of the first, except he’s not wearing glasses. He is, however, wearing a navy pinstripe suit and white Chucks. “What’s going on?” he demands. “I’m in the middle of…” His voice trails off, and he stops walking and stares at me. He inhales, and his whole face lights up, making my heart bang. But then his gaze slides down me. His smile freezes, then fades. His eyebrows rise even higher. And his jaw drops. I’m wearing black leggings with black boots, and a black shirt, but I know from the way the fabric is stretched that my baby bump is obvious. I watch his face, and I can see him calculating, and then coming to the conclusion that it could be his. His gaze returns to mine. Heart pounding, I wait for him to exclaim Holy fuck! To yell What the hell? To demand to know what happened because he used a condom. Or just to turn and walk away. He does none of those things. Instead, he says, quite mildly, “Well, hello, Catie-with-a-C.”
1.5 stars…This was so so so bad. The first 20% was good and then it took a complete nosedive.
Things I hated: - ignoring the first part of the book which was fine, there was absolutely zero chemistry between them - Catie had serious issues from a lifetime of abuse. She basically shook, cried and was a basket-case all the time. There was nothing appealing or strong about her, and honestly, she probably should have considered not having the babies and getting serious therapy instead. She also seems ignorant to basic things (she’s never eaten in a restaurant…but they met in a bar while she was at a table with drinks and likely apps…hmmm ok). She constantly puts herself down for being unattractive, stupid, poor, having an unrefined palette. It’s exhausting. - I had no idea why Saxon was with her, but even he became annoying. She was too weak-minded to hear unexpected news, so he had people go through him first (even when it had nothing to do with him) and he decided how she should hear it. By the end of the book he’s just buying her things and weeping (him, not her…it was too much and very off-putting). - His billionaire family all accepted, no questions asked, that the babies were his with no paternity test or prenup…sure, ok. - The book just wouldn’t end!! They were married at 85% and it Just. Kept. Going. - He deliberately drinks her breast milk while she’s pregnant…and goes back for more. My ick factor was through the roof. - For someone who hasn’t really read books, eaten anything, gone anywhere, blah blah blah Catie sure had a weird interest in sexual things (asking Saxon, quite out of the blue, about double penetration and if he’d want to watch her with another man)…but then she didn’t know anything about vibrators. She is interested in anal, but doesn’t know about other basic things. And several times she mentioned wanting a “salty snack”…gahhh, I gag just thinking about the weird conversations these two had.
Honestly I hated this book. I think 1.5 stars is generous given I’ll need brain bleach to forget this crap.

I was kindly sent an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
And I loved it!
First off, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5: personal preference. In contrast to Titus and Heidi, Saxon and Caitie didn't grab me to that degree. I don't entirely know why BUT that's the only reason. In reality, if I could give it 4.5 stars out of 5 I would.
Saxon is someone we meet earlier with the Auckland Billionaires, and we dig deeper into who he is and why he is who he is. I loved the exploration lf character but also, that he's a good guy.
Yes, yes, I know, but this is important - books are inundated nowadays with bad-boy tropes, and I think I've outgrown most of them unless they're written well. I much prefer the good guys now!
Caitie is lovely, independent, incredibly brave, and so, so gracious. She's beautiful inside and out and I'm so happy for her landing on her feet.
The supporting cast is warm and embraces you as a reader with open arms. I'm REALLY intrigued by Saxon's brother who's getting his book next - I don't know why. I do know I look forward to it.
I'm also incredibly pleased with how the man in this relationship is handled throughout the book. Often, it all focuses on women, but it's pointed out in this one that men deserve the care and attention too. And I love that!
I laughed, I teared up, I cried, and overall enjoyed my weekend read of this story. Plus, we get treated to what I think to myself as Serenity's Greatest Hits towards the end, touching base with some characters from other series, interconnecting and interweaving everything.
... also if you sensed a disturbance in the Force at any point, I'm sorry. That was just me, recognizing who the character was standing there with his wife, waiting for Saxon and Caitie. Thank God I don't currently need to explain my shrieks of delight to anybody!
Overall, another fantastic read from Ms Woods, and I can't wait for the next one.
The Wellington Billionaires are falling one by one, and now it is Saxon's turn. It starts as a one-night stand-- NOT his usual modus operandi, but he is intrigued from the first moment he sees the woman across the club floor—how cliché! Yet when he gets the opportunity to talk to her and discovers she not only knows all of the Doctor Who actors in order but has clued into the fact that he was emulating the fashion of Number 10, he is all in, even if all she offers is the one night. And as suddenly as she appeared in his life, Catie with a C was gone.
Catie with a C only came to being that night. In her life, prior to the moment she talked to Saxon, she was Catriona, or Trinny, who had an extremely awful life an was leaving in the morning for a new life in another city. Unfortunately, the New fantasized wonderful life ends up not being the fairy tale she expected. Once again, she ends up penniless, living in a practically uninhabitable excuse of an apartment, wondering why she can't catch a break. But then she is offered a temp job and her life takes a weird and wonderful turn, when she discovers Saxon is the CEO of the company. But there are more than a few unexpected twists, turns, and bumps in the road for the two, many of which are caused by Catie being almost pathologically unable to accept any help—or ANYTHING--from anyone, especially a billionaire boss.
This is NOT a case of TSTL (too stupid to live), just a total lack of reference on how to deal with any act of kindness or concern, or love. But she is incredibly smart, and learns how to accept these, with grace and humor.
I never really liked the Cinderella story as a kid (or an adult), but this had only Catie with a C taking care of her self, no fairy godmother—until she ran into Saxon, his wonderful and caring friends and family. Then I HAD to believe –and so did she.
I received an ARC of this story from the author for my true, unbiased opinion.
This was soooo satisfying. I thought Titus and Heidi were my favorite couple, but Saxon and Catie with a "C", whew. I think they have jumped into 1st place.
I stayed up all night so I could finish this book. My heart hurt for the little girl Catie had been. Also for the woman who spent years enduring the horrendous treatment from her stepmother and step sisters. I can't forget to include the way her father behaved.
I did like that Catie managed not to been mean spirited and greedy. Especially after having to spend so much time with the "steps".
Saxon was very special. Not only in the way he treated Catie with gentle loving care, admiration, and respect, but also with recognition of her coding talents. He and his brothers responded positively to her abilities knowing she hadn't been to university. That was awesome in itself.
It was sad that Catie didn't think she deserved good things, didn't expect them, and found it hard to accept them. I understood her reasoning. Sometimes when you have had nothing, you don't want to get used to having things for fear of them being taken away.
This story was sweet, heartfelt, positive, inspiring, and romantic with touches of heat throughout. When I read the last page, it left me smiling. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who just wants to feel good.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Cinderella and the Billionaire Boss by Serenity Woods The Wellington Billionaires A Boss in a Billion #4
Serenity does it again…sweeps me into a steamy romance that I cannot put down and savor every moment of time spent with Catie & Saxon.
What I liked: * Catie: intelligent, resilient, strong, a survivor, difficult backstory, trust & self-esteem issues, wise, creative, dealing with a LOT and has nobody to rely on, rather taken with Saxon * Saxon: brilliant, businessman, risk taker, self-assured, creative, leader, loves his family, supportive, caring, rather taken with Catie * All of the interests that Catie and Saxon had in common * The way Catie and Saxon were able to communicate mentally, physically, and emotionally * Learning their backstories and how their past impacted who they became * Saxon’s family: loving, kind, supportive, wealthy, grounded, wonderful, there for one another * The plot, pacing, setting, and writing * That I felt a part of the story, liked the characters, and cared about the ending * The feel-good way I felt when I finished the story * Knowing that Kip’s book is next
What I didn’t like: * Who and what I was meant not to like – especially the ugly stepsisters and their mother * Thinking about how difficult Catie’s life was before she met Saxon.
Did I like this book? Yes Would I read more in this series? Definitely
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
Cinderella and the Billionaire Boss by Serenity Woods, book four in her A Boss in a Billion series, is a heartwarming story with a reminder that only takes one night to change your life. It truly is a Cinderella story, where dreams can come true. Saxon is such a wonderful man; intelligent, sexy, funny and quirky. Catie, with a C, has a natural beauty and unbelievable stamina that shines through the hardships she’s lived. She has erected walls around herself for self-preservation. With much patience, sweetness and advice from his wonderful family and friends Saxon is on a mission to break down those walls Catie has erected and be the protector and lover she needs. This is a love story that just grows and grows regardless of circumstance. Having a man who accepts you as you are and supports you is what we all dream of. And that they both felt this love after one night makes even sweeter.
Ms. Woods wrote a wonderful, emotional and passionate story that should not be missed. She provided a descriptive tale set in New Zealand, rich with sizzling chemistry, clever banter, the magic of love, and endearing secondary characters giving Catie and Saxon a chance at love, happiness, and a future together. I highly recommend Cinderella and the Billionaire Boss to other readers
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Be ready for the Kindle-melting, passionate start to this book! What a punch. In a way this book is a backwards romance but no spoilers. There are so many surprises and secrets in the story that I do not want to give away anything and spoil your fun. Catie and Saxon are two of the best characters Ms. Woods has ever created and that is saying something. They appear to be opposites and carry their own damage but they have such great chemistry and their love shines through. In the Billionaire Bosses series, as in the King Brothers and Prince series, the main characters are raised to understand that their money and good fortune can be used to help others. That is refreshing for an American where so many of our billionaires are greedy ego-maniacs! Each book can be read alone but some of my favorite characters from the previous books are woven into the plot so you will want to read them all. This story has lots of fun and banter and great dialog, but there are many serious themes around family and commitments and relationships that make for an emotional roller coaster. And there is a great CInderella element too. Ms. Woods never shies away from real life issues and problems. But her super-power is also taking impossible situations and turning them into very fulfilling, satisfying and romantic happy endings. I really loved this book!
The "Boss in a Billion" series just keeps getting better and better! Each one has been better than the last - this one included. After reading, "Faking Love with the Billionaire Boss: The Auckland Billionaires (A Boss in a Billion Book 3)", I couldn't wait to read Saxon's story. Then, after reading the first few chapters of "Cinderella and the Bilionaire Boss", I felt like Serenity Woods had let me down. I didn't like Saxon at all. I saw him as a rich and smug guy who just wanted to hook up. No romance, no build up, just, no. But, it's Serenity Woods, so I kept reading. And I have to say, I probably fell in love with Saxon faster than "Catie with a C"! This was a backwards romance - one that started with sex which led to pregnancy which led to friendship which ended with love. I don't know how she did it, but Woods wrote a wonderful backwards story! Saxon's true nature was that of a caring and devoted family man. The kind you want to have as the the (H) hero in your romance book. Catie (h) was also a terrific character. Her forgiveness and attitude toward life was amazing. "I don't want the main emotion I feel to be hate and resentment. I want to feel hope and contentment, and love." I highly recommend this book and can not wait for Kip's story next!
This book is the trope where your one-night-stand will invariably turn out to be your boss. Inconvenient, I know but I am sorry, I don't make the rules. Saxon and Catie had a one-night-stand in which they did not exchange contact information and he was supposedly unable to find out her name although he knew where she worked. He would have wanted to see her again, so it's a happy surprise for him when she ends up temping for him. There are more surprises in store and they have to figure out how to deal with a pregnancy together, as well as a difference in how they were raised. He is from a rich, supportive family, and she has never eaten steak. Both her parents died and she ran away from an abusive stepmother and stepsisters who are quite terrible in every way. He thinks he needs to take it slow in order not to spook her again.
I have enjoyed the author's writing style in general and the NZ setting is exotic to me. I liked Saxon a lot. This story was a bit longer than it needed to be as they have the same arguments several times and spend quite a bit of time reconnecting with characters from several previous books that you may or may not care about depending on whether you read the books. I was looking forward to Saxon helping her get avenged against the cartoonish stepvillain but it fizzles out as Catie wants bygones to be bygones.
Saxon and Catie's story is another awesome book in the Wellington Billionaires series. The story is filled with warmth and lots of wonderful characters.
Serenity amazes me with the depth of information and detail she gives to the IVF research Saxon is involved with. She manages to be technical while weaving a wonderful romance between Saxon and Catie.
Saxon and Catie have a one night stand. Catie moves out of town the next day and, without her name, he has no way of finding her. Thus the story goes until they meet months later in a very unexpected way.
The romance is hot as flames, yet has many bumps along the way. Saxon has a real job of convincing Catie he cares for her. Catie has lived a hard life without anyone to love or care even for her basic needs. Saxon is a billionaire and Catie cannot imagine he would want a woman from the wrong side of the tracks.
The book is filled with wonderful characters, friends and family. I always love the parties and gathering of characters from the other books in the series. I love the way Serenity describes the scenery and the history she shares. I'm never disappointed reading her books. I always feel like I've been with people I know and love.
Catie was a reluctant part of a work group at a bar when she meets Saxon and they spend part of the night together. Catie leaves Auckland the next morning for a new life in Wellington. She is happy to leave her nasty stepmother and sisters behind and start again. Unfortunately her job folds and she ends up temping. An urgent job has her discovering that her new boss is the man she slept with, but why doesn't he recognise her? When she asks why he doesn't recognise her, he leaves and comes back with his twin brother. Saxon not only recognises her, but has been missing her since they the night they were together. Where to now?
I loved this book. I frequently laughed at some of the comments the characters made.
Saxon has told Catie to use his credit card to buy food, and she only spent $9.00. Their text exchange had me laughing. Me: I bought a piece of fish. It was very nice. Him: Was it a tadpole?
Catie has had a very tough life and she doesn't see how she can have a relationship with a billionaire. Saxon is going to have to work hard to convince her otherwise.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Cinderella story, indeed. There's Cinderella (Catie-with-a-C) scraping out a hand-to-mouth existence. Prince Charming (Saxon) billionaire CEO, the ball (one night stand following a bar pickup) and the glass slipper (a lost earring).
Catie and Saxon follow the fairy tale: she bolts during the night; he wants to find her but isn't even sure he knows her name. Fast forward 4 months. Catie reports to her new temp position only to be introduced to her boss - Saxon! Only he doesn't seem to recognize her ….. and she's pregnant!
Ms. Woods creates engaging characters and unfolds the story contrasting how Saxon's life of privilege against Catie's poverty impacts their burgeoning relationship. Various twists and turns follow - there's even a wicked stepmother! While this novel can be read as a stand alone, it is fourth in a series. If you've read previous books you'll be happy to see numerous familiar characters. I especially liked the depth of the HEA in this story. You can't go wrong with this latest offering.
I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest review, voluntary review.
In a trendy Auckland bar, each with their own group of friends and co-workers Saxon and Catie are drawn to each other. Who would think that a Dr. Who reference would be a catalyst for a one-night stand? Even though they both feel a bond to each other they part ways without sharing any personal info. Fast forward several months and to Wellington where a chance second meeting, an unexpected development that entwines Catie and Saxon.
I loved the “Cinderella” twist to this story. Saxon is such a wonderful man; intelligent, sexy, funny and quirky. Catie is a strong, intelligent, witty woman who is also very vulnerable. She has erected walls around herself for self-preservation. With much patience, sweetness and advice from his wonderful family and friends Saxon is on a mission to break down those walls Catie has erected and be the protector and lover she needs. I was drawn into this book from the first sentence and it kept getting better and better as it progressed. Serenity Woods has done it again; I loved this addition to The Wellington Billionaires Series!
Catie O'Clery was the result of an affair between her mother and a married man. When he heard his lover was pregnant, he wanted nothing to do with her mother or the baby. Then when she was 12, her mother was killed in the Christchurch earthquake and was she was sent to live with her father, his wife and her 2 daughters. Her father died when she was 14 and her life became a horror story.
Saxon Chevalier was at a bar with friends when he spotted her there with her friends. She was leaving town the next morning and her coworkers had gotten together with her for a farewell party. He's struck by her beauty, a redhead covered with freckles, freckles that usually repel men, but not him.
They have a night of passion but she's gone the next morning. A few months later, she shows up as a temp at the business owned by him and his brothers. Two things are immediately obvious: she's pregnant and he doesn't recognize her...

I am sure you will be rooting for Catie and Saxon to find their happily ever after as soon as you get to know their characters, and you will, as their story and lives are beautifully developed in this book. From a chance meeting in Auckland, the fireworks start and when their lives cross paths again in Wellington a few months later the chemistry between them is as strong as ever but of course, it's not straightforward. There are some things for them to work through, family and friends - and maybe a baby or two! It's hard to put down once you start it, so be warned.
Every time I read a new book by Serenity Woods I wonder if she can reach the same high standards and I am never disappointed. To have written so many books that are all so different, entertaining, have highs and lows, twists and turns, and make you laugh and cry really is amazing.
Another fabulous read in the series - but don't worry as you can read it as a standalone book.
I received an ARC of this book and my review is voluntary.
While in Auckland on business, Saxon is immediately attracted to the beautiful woman with tiger-orange hair. Saxon reminds Catie of the 10th Dr. Who. With her last night in the city before starting over elsewhere, Catie approaches Saxon with her Dr, Who jokes. Catie has never had a one night stand, but she is looking for a fresh start. One night wasn't enough for either of them, but that's all they have. Months later, they are stunned to see each other. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. It's a steamy start to their relationship. I love how patient Saxon is with Catie after they reconnect. He wants to slowly get to know her and support her so he doesn't scare her off. Catie is very independent, a strong woman and used to standing on her own. I love the story, the characters, and the music that they listen to.
This is the 4th in the Boss in a Billion series. The first of the Wellington Billionaires. This story follows Saxon and Catie. They first meet in Auckland where they have a one night stand. Catie is leaving for Wellington for a fresh start, so Saxon thinks that’s the end of it. Even though he already believes she’s special. When she gets to Wellington she gets a temp job as a secretary in what she learns is Saxon's company. And so starts a modern day Cinderella story.
I loved Saxon and Catie. Saxon was just so nice. He had so much patience and class. Catie was very independent and sweet considering what she’d been through. They were a great match and I really enjoyed their story. I just love Ms Woods characters so much. They always feel like friends. I want to be around them. I’m so looking forward to Kip and Alice in the next book.

Serenity Woods has done it again with an amazing story, based on the classic, set with a wonderful set of characters and a storyline that will reel you in from the start.
Catie and Saxon have a random and spontaneous meeting in Auckland and then later in Wellington. She’s down on her luck but determined to make it. Saxon is a dedicated and hard worker who hasn’t had the difficulties that Catie has … but he’s enthralled with her from the start and is again on team Catie.
While the storyline follows that of the classic, the modern twists and aspects kept me on my toes and Ms. Woods’ writing kept me engaged. I’ve loved every book in the series by Cinderella and the Billionaire Boss is by far and away my favorite.

I was sent a complimentary ARC from the author and asked to post a review of the book. My review is not based upon this courtesy. I would have borrowed it anyway from Kindle Unlimited.
This book grabbed me from the get-go. Page 1 started quickly off the blocks. At first, I was wondering how the premise in the blurb would play out? That accomplished how would they find each other again? After these questions are answered, the story's focus shifts to how Catie and Saxon's relationship develops.
Their one-night stand results in conception. What follows is a tender story of an ever-deepening love for each other and their baby. Saxon is immediately struck by paternal and protective feelings towards his child. Catie is willing to allow him to participate in the child's prenatal and postnatal life but always with the caveat that his involvement is not required.
The tale is really about becoming parents - a mother and a father - and growing into a family.
A wonderful read.

This wonderful modern Cinderella story captivated me from the first chapter! I am a sucker for fairy tales and swooney love stories and this one has all that and more! While Sexton might not be an actual prince, he is a billionaire and one of the sweetest men on the planet! Catie with a C burrowed herself right under my heart with her insecurities and hard knocks life. These two were definitely destined to meet and then meet again!
Watching Catie bloom under Saxton's gentle care and acceptance AND possessiveness was magical. They both had trust issues and had never had someone just love them for who they are. The pregnancy brought an added connection that just solidified their growing relationship.
I loved that there was low angst but major romance in this book and some steamy hot scenes to rev up your kindle! The epilogue was epic and this is one of my favorite books that I know I will be rereading over and over again!
