Amazon.com #1 in Cozy Mystery, Mystery Anthologies, and Private Investigator. ‘Reading this series is like coming home to a cozy town with all the southern fun, gossip and good friends to help scratch our meddlin' ways to solve a good whodunit crime.'
When Mae West finds herself penniless and with a rundown campground in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Park in her name, she's on a mission to sell it... … finding herself as the number one suspect in her ex-now dead-husband's murder forces her and her new found friends to put on ameateur sleuthing caps to find the real killer.
If you would've told me year ago that I was going to be broke and penniless after my husband took everyone to the cleaners after he pulled off one of the biggest Ponzi schemes, leaving me a run down campground, a set of camper keys, before he escaped prison and when the FBI came to the campground to see if I helped him escape, then the no good you know what floated up to the top of the lake in that campground making me the number one suspect, I'd said you were lying.

Praise for Mae I love Mae. She climbed back from losing everything to build herself a great life. The series gets better with every book – I even bought myself a camper because I want to live in Happy Trails Campground. Spending time in the camper series is always fun. I feel like I know them. I want to live there. There are so many twists and red herrings! I love it so much. Good clean reading, funny, and always surprised at the end.

After reading the whole 3 box sets of thirty mysteries you would think I would be so full of murder and mayhem that I would be ready for something else. But darn it, there’s just something about a pink plastic sponge roller that has me flipping to the next book in line. OH MY!
Absolutely the worst edited books I have ever read. I’ve read 60 of her books now and never again. Plot errors, misspelled words, facts change, can’t keep her own characters names straight, etc. Basically every book in the 60 I’ve read has a good 20%-25% that’s exactly the same as the previous books and much of it verbatim except where she changes facts to suit her needs which is exasperating. It’s like a soap opera or tv show where they replay stuff from previous shows over and over and over again and infuriates you. Idk if she is using ghost writers or what bc facts get changed all the time which drives me crazy. In her witch book series one girl goes from ebony eyes to blue eyes. lol. And the hair changes all the time. If the author can’t keep her own plots straight why should I care about her books? If the editor can’t make a book that is readable and doesn’t look like an illiterate person wrote it why should I buy it? Imo they owe everyone a refund. These series of books have more mistakes than all the books combined that I have read in 58 years. It’s practically every page. Every book in the witch series has “peeked interest” instead of “piqued interest”, etc. If you are a bibliophile and have an IQ over 100 it will drive you crazy. I guess some ppl can overlook it, but I’m a details person. I expect people to do their jobs and put out a polished product. These books are an abomination. Nothing irritates me more than knowing that some people will read these books and believe the words that are misspelled are spelled right and that the grammar is right when it is wrong, etc and go out in the world and reproduce this garbage in their own work. The witch series repeatedly has “lightening” for “lightning” and a thousand other mistakes. I will never understand how it was published. Lowest standards of them all. Guess I know which author, editor, & publisher to avoid now so it’s not a total loss.
The mysteries are exciting, intriguing, and keep me guessing. Also, each book's mystery isn't the only thing going on in Normal, Kentucky. Tonya Kappes does a wonderful job of weaving everything together in each story.

I have just spent the last few days reading the 1700+ pages of this book. I have enjoyed every last one of them and I had to get the next book to read. The cliffhangers get me every time. The stories were fun and the mysteries well written. I love the characters and the romance between Hank and Mae. Recommend reading.

I absolutely enjoyed this series, I loved the reader’s voice and highly recommend listening to the first few books. It brings the characters personalities to life. After that I physically read the remainder of the books. Such a great read, I couldn’t put them down.
