I’m known as the Grim Reaper of Chicago.
But to those closest to me, my name is Sevyn Rose.
As an assassin for the mafia, I’ve amassed a lot of enemies over the years. I’ve been on my own for eight years with one goal in mind—find my missing mother. She left me with simple instructions: leave the pack and contact the mafia. So I did just that.
Everything is going fine until I’m handed the name of my next target. Christian Ellis is the son of the pack leader and my most hated frenemy. Going after him could change the course of my life completely. And worse, it would get me involved with the pack again.
To top things off, a vampire shows up at my door with information on my missing mother—but that information comes at a price. If I want the truth, I have to help him take down the city’s vampire clan leader. Not only putting my life on the line, but that of the local pack.
Trouble is brewing in the city of Chicago. And I’m right at the center of it.

Oh my goddddd, this was such a great book!

Killer Wolf is about Sevyn Rose, aka the Grim Reaper of Chicago, who is a hitman (hitwoman?) for the mafia and has one single focus in mind: find her mother who has been missing for 8 years; and Christian, a cop, the son of the Chicago Pack's alpha, and Sevyn's fated mate and frenemy.

Sevyn left the Chicago Pack 8 years ago, when her mother went missing, to take a job as a hitman for the mafia, as she was instructed to do by a note her mother left her. She hasn't gone, wanted, or even thought to go back to the pack since. But...
Christian comes to Sevyn asking, or more like demanding, she comes back as the pack's mercenary, as her mother used to be before she left, to help fight against a new threat to not only the pack's alpha's ruling but also to the pack itself.
She doesn't even consider it an option. She loves her independence and is laser-focused on her mission to find her mother. But she gets assigned to kill her next target... Christian. After refusing, she's now involved in the pack drama, whether she wants to or not. As the story develops we get more information on the threat and other stuff that changes her plans.

Their relationship is and has been very rocky and competitive since they were little kids. They were kind of like rivals in a way, always trying to one-up each other in everything. It only got worst when, on Sevyn's 18th birthday their mate bond falls into place.

In this book, there was no spice AT ALL, which is something I usually (basically always) try to avoid, as stories without any spice make me lose interest and get bored. But this book was SO GOOD that I didn't mind anywhere nearly as much as I usually do.
I feel like the romance was a smaller part of the plot of this book, it only really picked up at the last bit of the book. So I guess this series could be considered a slow burn? Since they only kissed once in this book, though we do get some close calls and tension between them, but nothing major.

The FMC, oh lord. She has my whole heart. A lot of "independent and murderous" FMCs end up being easily commanded by the MMC or following his orders with only irritated huffs, but not this one! She not once follows what he says purely because she doesn't feel like fighting with him or whatever other reason. She only ever agrees with if it's the reasonable response to whatever predicament they're in. She is my dream FMC, period.

The way she carries herself, and is actually very capable of handling her own problems, instead of the usual "capable FMC" we get in a lot of shifter books, where she "can take care of herself" but the very next page the MMC has to rescue her, again. Not her, she actually can take care of herself and has skills and she knows it too, she's smart in her moves and tactics.

In this book we get a lot of action. Like a LOT. It was another reason why the lack of spice didn't bother me. Because every single page is necessary for the story, every chapter there's a new plot twist or lead or something. It never gets boring or has a dip in how page-turning it is. I loved every. Single. Second. This was one of my favorite, if not THE favorite, this year so far. Definitely reread-worthy.

Killer Wolf is the first installment in the Sevyn Rose series, and the 2nd book, Captured Wolf, will be coming out on July 14th and I can't wait. I'd never read from this author before but I sure will now. 100% recommend!! Now go read it, you can thank me later.

I think the cover for the book is perfect, theres the 'face/image' there of Sevyn taking total centre stage on the cover and possibly Christian in his wolf form. It definitely compliments the book well and it would make me want to learn more about the book, so I'd say it does its job really well.

So basically supernaturals live & work within plain sight of humans. Sevyn is an werewolf/outcast/assassin. Her mother disappeared 8 yrs ago and that was the last time she had anything to do with the pack/her pack. Some say Imogen Rose - packs top mercenary was dead, others say she is on the run from the pack. Some would whisper Imogen was always on the job so not a good mum to Sevyn. Imogen taught Sevyn skills no other parent would ...survival skills! Whether pack or human, Sevyn is always available to take someone down.

Although they didn't have a close emotional connection Sevyn doesn't understand why her mum would just leave her, she can't help think perhaps she is dead.

Sevyn has a heck of a lot going on! She definitely compartmentalised her life. She considers herself ex-Chicago Pack, though can she ever be truly 'free of the pack' Though they keep an eye on her they do not fully know what she does for a living and they certainly don't know she is Chicago's Grim Reaper! Sevyn has living independently working as an assassin for hire for a long time. Keeping her different worlds apart. When her mother disappeared she left her a message to leave the pack along with contact details for Nicholas. Nicholas is She has become sucked into carrying out hits for the human mafia too which is fine, though they don't know she is a shifter. Sevyn has never had an issue with 'taking out' anyone until she is asked to kill Christian Ellis, the son & next in line to the Alpha of the Chicago pack. What complicates things further is Sevyn & Christian have a whole lot of history! Sevyn & Chririan were promised to each other by their parents when they were first born. They grew up continually trying to one up the other, in constant competition. To complicate things further when Sevyn was eighteen a bond between her & Christian locked into place, they are fated mates! Neither of them like being told what they should or shouldn't do whether it's their parents or their heritage or shifter blood telling them.
Sevyn has to think quickly to come up with a reason to turn down the hit on Christian. She chooses the fact he is a Police Officer to refuse the job, but that doesn't mean someone else won't take the job. So now Sevyn finds herself being unwillingly drawn back into the pack. Whilst all this is going on Sevyn is approached with an offer she cannot refuse. Information about her mother in exchange for taking down Adrian Pierce the leader of the Vampire Clan.
Sevyn finds herself having to live back within the confines of Mayor Manor, Chicago Pack land and has to once again deal with pack politics, hierarchy and gossip, as well as coping with romantic feelings being in such close proximity to Christian.
Theres also the rather large matter of a new shifter in town, Dominic, who has challenged Gerard for Alpha position of the Chicago Pack. Dominic is an unknown newcomer who will have to fight and beat both Gerard & Christian to become the new leader of the Chicago Pack. In a fair, shifter to shifter fight it doesn't seem likely he could win but with the 'hit' being out on Christian will he be in a fit state or alive to take part in a challenge fight?
Sevyn finds herself in the middle of constant chaos, attempting to play all sides and races whilst not really trusting anyone.

I loved the writing style, it's the same engaging, enthralling, witty humorous unputdownable style I have come to know & love from this author. Once again, she has created a fantastic, fiercely independent kick butt female lead character.

I really enjoyed all the different 'races' involved in the book, the humans, human mafia, vampires, shifters etc. and how they interacted.

I appreciated the flashbacks within the book, the way they give the reader to be a 'fly on the wall' and learn about these important interactions almost 'first hand' for ourselves. Theres the flashbacks to 'younger Sevyn' first the interactions with her mum instilling the need to be disciplined and have perfect battle strategy. Her refusal to even talk about Sevyns father other than to say he is dead.
Then theres the flashback to when Sevyn and Christian realise they are fated mates. Its clear they are strongly attracted to each othe but wow, they are both stubborn and initially choose to fight the bond, dismissing any sort of romantic relationship as just being down to the 'pull of the bond'

The characters I loved....of course Sevyn, I thought her Sevyn-isms were brilliant, such as referring to vampire as 'caspar the unfriendly ghost', the attitude that her assassinating people is 'all about the Benjamin's' and 'Leave no witnesses'.
I also loved Christian, Nadia and Imogen (despite not actually officially meeting Imogen in the present day in the book yet)I'm hoping theres going to be more of and I am looking forward to learning more about Frankie, Parker and Orpheus. I enjoyed disliking Dominic and I have Nicholas and Willa in the 'grey area' where I haven't decided about them yet!

To say I enjoyed or I adored this book is an understatement, I truly did not want to put it down. In fact I hated having to put it down to 'do' anything else. I feel like I could go on and on about this book for hours! I honestly cannot wait to read more of this series. I feel like there is so much more to come from this series. There's so many plot lines to explore, such as Sevyn's mum Imogen, then the Sevyn and Christian 'romance', the mafia angle, the vampire clan, maybe more to come about Sevyn's dad and more from the witches coven. I just can't wait to read it all!!

Summing up, Wow, oh wow! I love, love, loved it! Great world building, supernaturals living but yet hidden in plain sight of humans. Fantastic characters, in luuurve with the whole love-hate-love, arranged marriage at birth & fated mate bond at 18.
That ending! Cliff hanger!
I seriously cannot wait read

This is the first book in the series. The author brings a multitude of strong characters and intertwines several storylines all centering on Sevyn Rose and her ties to the mafia as well as the Chicago Pack and supernatural community. She brings a ton of action, violence and danger and weaves a page turner from page one right to the end. Sevyn is a kickass hired assassin with a bonded mate who happens to be a police officer and the alpha's son. She'd do anything in trying to find her mother who disappeared eight years ago. It's one battle after another and brought to life with very descriptive and detailed scenes. This is one of the best assassin books I've ever read. It's well written and moves quickly and smoothly with so much going on. I can't wait for the next book! If I could rate higher than five stars I would give it a ten!!!! Highly recommend this book!!!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Disclaimer... Karina Espinosa is my favorite author. She writes strong female leads that are likeable, realistic, fair and loyal. Sevyn our female lead is no exception. When we meet her she is an assassin, who fled her home years before due to a sudden event in her life. She has only one friend and lives a secluded life.
I love that she knows herself, she trusts her instincts and does not wait to be saved. She can save herself. Enter her fated mate, Christian. Does she run to him nah... Does she run from him, sometimes. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Once a week Sevyn goes to confession to offer up her sins for forgiveness, knowing that no matter what, she would continue to repeat those sins over and over. For the last eight years Sevyn, with Nicholas as the middleman, had been fulfilling contracts for the Mafia. Neatly, quietly she was simply known as the Grim Reaper.
Eight years ago, her mother had disappeared leaving only a note behind with contact information for a man named Nicolas. Sevyn left the Chicago Wolf Pack, the only home she had ever known, to hunt for her mother. Until she found out what happened to her, she needed money. It wasn’t only her mother’s disappearance that had caused her to leave their Chicago Wolf Pack. It was the mating bond between her and the alpha’s son Christian. Their parents had betrothed them at birth and neither wanted someone else to make that choice for them, so they fought the pull, distance helped.

Christian a police officer for a special unit in the city, kept in touch with Sevyn, but they still fought. There was trouble brewing the pack and Gerald, the pack alpha, had sent Christian to persuade Sevyn to return to the pack to help. She was having no part of it until, she was handed a contact with Christian’s name on it. She refused it. Her work for the mafia was at an end but no one just walks away unscathed. Now she was being hunted too. Christian insisted she stay on pack grounds in his house where she would be safe and could be watched over. Sevyn didn’t like it, that close to Christian it was hard to concentrate, to focus while they worried about each other when they were out of sight, not to mention trying to keep their hands to themselves. Their mating bond only added more angst to their problems. Trouble was brewing all around them with the challenge for the pack’s leadership, the danger of being hunted and now Orpheus, a vampire, wanted Sevyn’s help in toppling Adriene, a powerful vampire leader, down. His promised payment was information he had about her mother.

There is not just one storyline here, but at the heart is the Chicago Wolf Pack. Wolves and vampires will both face challenges for their seats of power. Mix in domineering dons, a bit reminiscent of old Chicago during the roaring 20’s, add vampires and wolves and you have a mash up tale that is more entertaining than a TV show. The story keeps the reader on their toes with a ton of action, some graphic violence, power struggles between wolves, vampires, humans and a smidge of witchery. Romance is woven throughout the tale between Sevyn and Christian who are uncertain of their true feeling for each other. While there is another who would see Sevyn gone and her claws in Christian. Characters both in the forefront and sidekicks who I really enjoyed fill out the background, joining the clashes and supporting the main characters. I loved this first part of the Chicago Wolf pack, their wolves and friends, the romance and mystery. The story resolves a couple of the main situations but leaves others open to be continued in the next book.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of Killer Wolf from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Killer Wolf is great for fans of:

• Urban fantasy
• Childhood rivals
• Werewolf packs
• Fated mates
• Strong female characters

Killer Wolf was a thoroughly enjoyable read. It follows Sevyn Rose, a werewolf in her late twenties who is an assassin who was prepared for the role by her mother her whole life. Previously tied to the Chicago Pack, she left the moment that her mother, their mercenary, fled with a cryptic note for her to leave that life behind and find trust in mafia member Nicholas. This is all thrown up in the air, however, when Nicholas tasks Sevyn to kill none other than the heir to the Chicago Pack and her fated mate, Christian. Sevyn quickly has to make a decision whether she wishes to go ahead and take Christian's life, of whether she wants to protect him and throw herself back into a life, and a lingering connection, that she has ignored for eight years.

Firstly, I adored the relationship between Christian and Sevyn: you can tell that these two are going to be the definition of slow born. They have a lifetime of being rivals and 'despising' each other, but also being bound to each other, from an arranged marriage at a young age to realising that they are fated mates the day after Sevyn's eighteenth birthday. There are points where you just want to bash their heads together and scream at them that it's obvious they like each other, that they care, but you also know how rewarding it's going to feel when they finally (hopefully?) give each other that chance later on the series. You can tell that Christian is in the position where he realises that being fated mates means more than just a constriction, where Sevyn, who has never really had any form of emotional connection in her life, has a long road ahead of her. Either way, it worked and I enjoyed watching the two of them develop.

But there's so much more to the plot than just their relationship: there's the mystery of Sevyn's mother, there's the politics of the supernatural world, there's the in depth exploration of Sevyn's career and how powerful of a female character she is, and much more. I loved the side characters like Orpheus, who I can't wait to see more of in the second book. Killer Wolf built fantastic foundations of a variety of plots that I am sure are going to develop nicely throughout the series.

I would strongly recommend this one! I can't wait to see where it goes next.

Book one in a new series /author that I’ve not read yet.

A Paranormal Romance that is occupied by a strong female main character. An assassin for hire! She’s at the top of her field of expertise. A wolf shifter that’s gone rogue with her pack! But Sevyn is happy where she is….. Until it brings Christian back into her life!!
Mates that can’t stand each other, but if in the same proximity, are drawn to each other!

An assassin that’s also now been pointed in the direction of her pack! Her new job is to assassinate the pack leaders son (who is none other than her mate Christian!)
Can she really kill the wolf shifter that is her fated mate? And why would an ancient vampire want to start a war with the wolf shifters? It could draw attention from the humans (who know of their existence, but both keep a low profile anyways!) but the vampire has information that could help her uncover what happened to her mother.

It’s a fast paced action/mystery book, with a fierce female in the lead role.
Nicely written with just Sevyn’s point of view. We also get flashbacks of her growing up with her mother (who was also the pack protector/enforcer) they didn’t have a real close relationship, it was all about survival and training! We also get to see Christian and Sevyn fight the bond when it clicks on at eighteen (both claim it’s only a bond that neither really wanted!)

It’s also a nice change to read about a bond that neither Christian or Sevyn want, the hate and the longing looks both give one another when no one is looking. The banter and the comebacks that Sevyn did have me chuckling. It’s also nice to see she can look after herself and handle anything that gets thrown at her. A quick mind and super fast reflexes helps her in her work. And I liked the fact Christian is a cop, Sevyn is a killer, so we have that vibe going on too (will he arrest her if she’s caught killing?)

Side characters are a mixture of love and hate for me. Her boss is mixed up with human mafia (those are the kills she’s sent out to do). The vampire leader knows more than he’s letting on too! And the pack she left don’t exactly like her either!

And there is a cliffhanger to contend with also!!

But a really good read. And I’m looking forward to the next book.

I received this as an ARC for my honest opinion and I honestly loved it. I would definitely recommend that you read book. Sevyn Rose is fantastic, and this is an amazing new spin on an assassin story. I could not put this one down until I finished. Eight years ago, her mother disappeared leaving only a note behind with contact information for a man named Nicolas. Sevyn left the Chicago Wolf Pack to go hunt for her mother. So for the last eight years Sevyn has been fulfilling contracts for the Mafia, for which she goes to confession once a week to offer up her sins for forgiveness knowing that she will have to repeat those same all sins over again. Sevyn is known as the Grim Reaper. Sevyn mother’s disappearance wasn’t the only reason that caused her to leave her home. It was that on top of her mating bond with Christian the Alpha’s son whom their parents decided to do the arcade thing and betrothed them at birth. Since neither one of them like the fact of others making decision for them they fight the mate bond. Christian is a police officer for a special unit in the city he keeps in touch with Sevyn. There is someone that is trying take over the Chicago Wolf Pack so Gerald decided to send Christian to get Sevyn to come back home so she can help them out. Yeah she says no until she’s gets a contract to kill her mate then all bets are off. She she returns home but everyone knows that you just can’t walk away from the mafia like that. So Christian makes her move in with him so that he can keep her safe but Sevyn doesn’t like this one bit because of they are still fighting their mating bond and with them being that close it is making everything even harder for them. Then in comes Orpheus a vampire who wants Sevyn help in taking down Adriene a very powerful vampire leader. He promise information about her mother as his payment. Now this is one action packed, drama filled, assassin story and this is a great series opener. I can’t wait to see what’s next. The only thing that this story is missing is witches lol no seriously it’s perfect the way that it is.

I CAN'T Wait for the next book in this new series!

WOW! Karina has done it again. A book that you can't put down, characters that pull you in and a female lead that is as bad As5 as Makenzie Grey!
Sevyn is one tough female who knows who her fated mate is and she is determined that nothing is going to come of it! She's not part of the Chicago pack but is the Chicago Mob's assassin and when her next target is none other than the Pack leaders son Christian. She knows she isn't going to take the hit. That's not good because now it's not only Christian on their radar!
Not only is she trying to keep both of them alive but she's found out that there is info on her missing mom that suggests she might be alive!
Now Sevyn, Christian and the Pack leader will need to work together to survive. Because it's not just Wolves that are after them it's Vampires too!
To know what happens to them all you'll have to read the book to find out.
I think that any who have read and loved the Mackenzie Grey books will definitely love this new series! I know I can't wait to see what happens next to Sevyn and Christian! The wait torture begins but it will be so worth it because any book from Karina Espinosa is worth the wait! Thank you Karina for such awesome books that make it hard to put down until they are finished!

This book did not disappoint. I devoured it within a matter of a few hours and was not ready for it to end and it ended with one hell of a cliffhanger ending. I need book two asap. I absolutely loved the main characters Sevyn and Christian, but I also enjoyed the side characters Nadia, Hawke and Gerard. The anticipation between Sevyn and Christian was everything and I need more. Willa sounded good on paper, but I did not want him with her, and it was good because he didn't want her either. Sevyn was a very popular woman, or should I say wolf, and everyone wanted her on their team. She would either join their team or they would try their best to make sure she would be on no one's team. This book took me on one wild ride, and I couldn't get enough. I enjoyed everything about it. This story was funny, it was full of action, suspense, mystery, twists and turns, secrets, betrayal, death, anticipation, steamy scenes and more. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series and will be recommending this one to all of my paranormal book loving friends. This is one series they do not want to miss out on.

WTF!!! nail biting until the end.

Excuse me?! Sevyn is the epitome of badassery and I love her!

If I could give this 100000 ⭐️ I would! It’s the perfect recipe to cleanse the palate and give the satisfaction of an amazing read!

I have read this author before and while Mackenzie Grey will always keep a special place in my heart, Sevyn is the new HBIC in Karinaverse!

She is methodical, efficient, trained assassin with witty sarcastic humor and I adore her! Her troubled past only gives credence to her strength and I am here for it.

This is the start of a very intriguing series chock full of intrigue to the very end with a “Killer” plot (pun intended).

I love the whole fated / hated mates scenario between Sevyn and Christian is slow burn but in the best way! The added the side of forced proximity and dash of frenemies to the pot and holy shiznit… you know the next book will be 🥵!! Sign me up for that!!

Can we talk about the fact this story line was no way predictable to the last couple of minutes and your left with a bad dose of a book hangover from the cliffhanger!

Karina better write quick because I can’t wait for the next book!!!

Sevyn and Christian's Story . . .

Sevyn Rose, known as the Grim Reaper, has done jobs for the Mafia over the past 8 years. Her mother had disappeared, so she left her wolf pack to hunt for her without luck. She was promised to the Chicago Wolf Pack leader’s son, Christian Ellis, but neither of them wanted to go through with it since it was their parents who had promised them at birth. Leaving the pack made it easier on them as Sevyn continued her mafia work.

Then the pack alpha sent Christian to get Sevyn to come back and help the pack resolve some trouble coming their way. She refused until the mafia made Christian her next target. By refusing to do kill him, she became a target also. Would she and Christian bond and protect the pack together? And would she accept a job from a vampire who says he has information about her mother in return for her killing the city’s vampire clan leader? There is so much going on and lots of decisions to be made where the wrong choice can cost someone their life.

Sevyn Rose isn’t your typical heroine! She’s the Grim Reaper of Chicago, an assassin for the mafia, and someone you absolutely don’t want to mess with. Honestly, I loved how unapologetically badass she is.

This story pulled me in fast. It has Mafia entanglements, werewolf pack politics, vampires with secrets, and Sevyn’s personal mission to find her missing mother. Every choice she makes just raises the stakes higher, especially when her latest target turns out to be Christian Ellis...her frenemy and the pack leader’s son. Cue tension, banter, and a whole lot of “oh no, this is going to get complicated.”

What I loved:

⚔️ Kickass female assassin MC with grit and vulnerability
⚔️ Mafia + paranormal mix (SO fun and unique)
⚔️ Family secrets that keep you turning the pages
⚔️ A frenemy dynamic that sparks in all the right ways

This book is gritty, fast paced, and layered with danger and emotion.

If you like your urban fantasy with sharp edges, found family undertones, and a FMC who refuses to back down, Killer Wolf delivers.

Our heroine has enough enemies without going to to find more. But that is exactly what her two latest assignments will bring her. Of course, declining those task has consequences of its own. What is a girl to do?

This is book one of the series, so a fine place to start.

This is an urban fantasy story with werewolves and vampires at the center of the story. The story is well written and easy to read. The setting is very intriguing with lots of details that I really want to explore in more depth. The characters are well done with solid personalities. I particularly liked our heroine who is a non-nonsense type of gal. The plot included plenty of action and intrigue to keep things moving at a good pace. Overall, a great start to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Highly recommended.

sorry heroine doesn’t care about anyone

Sorry the heroine doesn’t care about anyone has no morales of any kind. She likes killing and being an assassin yet she will kill anyone after they pay her.

No matter what. It would be different if she at least had a code - kill to protect, kill other mafia members or opposing gangsters at least, but she pops over and kills both husband and wife on their wedding day.

Kills a businessman who begs for his life for his family. She doesn’t care.

She is a true and evil villain and that makes me not care about her at all.

Written well, but she is a sociopath and that makes it hard to relate to her as a main character.

Most assassin books I’ve read in the paranormal world at least have a code or decide to be vigilantes to stop criminals. Or attack other criminals this is the first one I read where she kills innocents for money and doesn’t care.

Not for me

I really enjoyed the first book in the Sevyn Rose series. I liked the premise of Sevyn as an assassin and her mate Christian as a cop. It will be interesting to see how they address what she had done as they, hopefully, get closer in future books in the series. I found the premise that they didn't like each other and had not yet completed their bond even though they were drawn to each other.

I totally did not see the surprise on who really wanted to take over the Chicago pack was until the reveal. I look forward to seeing how everything shakes out in the rest of the series and if / when Sevyn finds her mom.

The book was well written and contained intriguing characters in the pack, human mafia and vampires.

I LOVE Sevyn she’s kickarse, snarky and stubborn and take no shit werewolf attitude and always hungry after getting a mark. It’s like a reward of a job well done! This book was so good I’m book hooked on this series now! I love reading about her story and her fated mate Christian the chemistry is like watching a fire slowly burn up into an inferno. I’m loving the side characters they make it all so interesting! The plot was amazing! And how the vampires are all tide into this makes this even more interesting. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out in the next book. There’s so many questions I can’t wait to get answers for! Like Nicholas, Orpheus, Adrian and of course Willa she gives me red flag vibes and I’m curious what will happen between her and Sevyn because those feelings for Christian are serious if she went to the Alpha about it as well……
But seriously I couldn’t put this book down until I was finished lol. 20 our of 10 would recommend this to everyone who loves a mafia shifter books because this was perfect!

Possible spoiler !

I’ve always been a fan of wolf shifter books, and this book is a nice change of pace ! It’s a mix of supernatural and the mafia worlds. Sevyn is a strong FMC with a DONT mess with her attitude! Also has a push and pull love/hate relationship with her fated mate Christian, well maybe not a relationship yet .. more line frenemies. Talk about creating the angst and slow burn for the readers!!
Such a cool new concept ! Karina always has a way with words and sucking you into whatever new world she has created ! So many twists and turns as well as one heck of a cliff hanger! Can’t wait for book 2!.

Killer Wolf is the first book in the Sevyn Rose series. It is very entertaining, so much so that I read it in a couple of hours. I could not put it down! The characters are your usual mix of supernatural, but Sevyn is particularly badass and entirely relatable. Her fated mate Christian is most definitely an alpha and probably the only person on the planet who can handle Sevyn. Their relationship is interesting, and a considerable part of the storyline is whether or not they will seal the dead with their bonding. Pack politics and that of the supernatural world in general take center stage and makes for some suspenseful plot twists. The book ends with a heck of a cliffhanger that has e eagerly waiting for book two.

Series not Complete

H: Christian Ellis
h: Sevyn Rose
I really like this book, we have Sevyn whose mother was a pack mercenary but at the same time an assassin. Once she disappeared and told Sevyn to leave the pack and go to see Nicholas. She did and she picked up right where her mom left in an attempt to find her mother. Christian and Sevyn are fated mates but they fight it at every angle. Chrisitan is a police officer and son of Chicago's mayor who is also apha. I stopped at 37% because this book 1 of 3 but book 3 hasn't been published yet and I don't want to get into the book when there is no ending in sight. So because of that I'm going to stop reading til the 3rd book comes in.

I’m a little off wolf shifters in a book, but since I quite enjoy this author, I had to dive in anyway. I’m so glad I did. Sevyn is a complex character being an assassin for the mafia. I love that she’s very capable, and her relationship with Christian is a good one. There were so many great characters in this series starter, I’m not sure who I actually like best. I’m rooting for all to be in the next one, even the bad guys. Well-written, entertaining, and a lot of fun are great words to describe this latest from this author. I’m hoping there are lots of books in this series. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Lots of people know, when she have visited them, and people whisper her call name in fear. Sevyn keeps to herself, and although she would rather not have the guilt of her job, she has a reputation for being great at it. Unfortunately she doesn't like the next person they put on her list, Christian, for she can't be taking him out. Her mother went missing years ago, can she find out what happened to her? I loved this kick butt female, the fire between her and Christian and the interesting twists of this fantastic story. I must know what happens next.

Great characters, unique world, mystery, adventure and a splash of romance. I feel bad for Christian though. The man needs to find a mate that is all into him … I call dibs! Sevyn is the boogeyman in the night that you don’t want to meet because if you do it means someone wants you dead. But jobs are in short supply when the only skills your mama taught before disappearing is how to be a mercenary. Unfortunately for Sevyn she isn’t the only one searching for her mother and trying to unravel the secrets left behind. The witches, mages, and shifters all want to get their hands on her mother and they think Sevyn is the key.

Katrina is a masterful story teller and is able to take you into her world with her writing. Killer Wolf is a fantastic ride in to the supernatural politics of Chicago, the Mafia and what it means to be family even when you are trying to be a Rouge wolf. Sevyn, the FMC, is full of strength, loyalty, and most of all snark. She is able to pull you into her life and pray she finds that with is missing it in. I can't wait to see where we will go to find what is missing and the danger she must face in the coming books.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sevyn is not a character one usually expects to like, but as the plot progresses, it becomes clear that she is more than what people at first perceive. Christian is an interesting character, but it is Orpheus that really intrigued me. I hope to learn more about him in the next book, which I will definitely read! So, if you like a strong female lead who doesn't lose her self, attitude, and confidence just because she may find someone attractive, then this is a very good read.

This story was a riot to read. I thought Sevyn was an amazing character. Basically Sevyn works as an assassin since she walked away from her wolf pack years ago. But of course things are never simple and she is drawn back to the pack as everything seems to go sideways as she finally has a lead on her mother. But of course things are never easy or straight forward and craziness seems to have invaded her simple easy life. I laughed and groaned and was glued to the end to see ho wit would all work out. And what other random surprises would pop up along the way.

Sevyn has left the pack and working with the mafia. She always takes jobs and completes them until the latest one. Someone has hired the mafia for a hit. Sevyn makes the decision that will cause her careful life to explode. Sevyn will work with her fated mate and the pack issues to make sure he survives but things will take a turn for them both.

I was completely drawn into this new book and series. I could not put the book down. Sevyn is such a fun character. Her relationship with her fated mate and how they are fighting the pull. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. This author's books are so good, they are addicting. I highly recommend reading this book.

I love a shifter series and this is a really good example of why, I love how they grip me from the get go, they don’t let up and there’s always mystery , intrigue, drama and so much snark and banter. I love the way Karina writes her characters, they have so much depth and great chemistry wether friends or lovers. She also leaves you guessing all the way through, I try and guess the outcome but it always takes a different turn. I can’t wait for more from this series and so excited to see where Karina will take us now.
