Family, Friends and Blood Suckers. The time has finally come for Xeal and FAE to face off against the final challenges of the Vault of Ucnuc and attempt to close the chapter on the dungeon once and for all. Though they will need to deal with the pair of issues that Xeal sent away for a year with Princes Enye’s kleptomaniac of a master. All while life in reality continues to demand more time as Christmas and New Year quickly approach.
As a child I did not read unless Pokémon cards count. It wasn’t until middle school when my mother played a trick on me, she got me entranced in the Harry Potter books. She would read the first few to me before switching to reading me a chapter and leaving the book out for me to read if I wanted more. Thus started my love of reading, at least in part. I still didn’t go out of my way to find books to read and after high school I could count on one hand how many books I would read each year. Life continued like this for over five years before I was hooked on an anime and searched out its light novel. This led to the phase where I was reading at least a couple books a month to now where I have gone through over 300 books in the last year.
Now I am putting my own work in to the world while following my own mantra. To write for yourself or you will never love what you write. When I first started to put my ideas into words I was surprised to find that those I shared it with loved it. This led me on to the road of putting out my own book for the world to see. Thank you to everyone who has or will help and support me in making this dream a reality.
Please keep em coming Bern! Another amazing addition to the series! I thoroughly enjoy this book series it may favorite by far! I hope there are many more to come!
In a series like this the characters become family, to each other and in some ways at least for me, to the reader. I continue to enjoy the development of Xeal's family in and out of E.D. I highly recommend this series and anything else written by Bern Dean!
This series started brilliantly, however the last few books have gradually deteriorated to long uninteresting family gatherings, Mc taking far to many boring inane long winded introspections. His constant whining about women is ridiculous, he doesn't have to marry them, just have lots of concubines. Everything just seems to be drawn out and the story has stalled. The side quest in another dimension is also boring and unnecessary.
This series started strong and was excellent role lit, main characters grows strong while mastering new and more powerful skills to protect the people he loves....now it's almost no role lit and has become a teenage girl romance about how he keeps his harem happy. There is almost no world building of ED and advancement of ED plot lines.
While I still love the world building and the expansion of all that Alex/Xeal has to balance and go through, this book felt a little slow to me. I became pretty repetitive half way through and that made the story drag and feel forced in places. I have loved this series since I started reading it, and will continue to read the series, but this one just wasn't as engaging as the others.
This has turned from litrpg into basically harem/polyamory with a sprinkle of actual in game stuff. Im not sure I will read the next one. I skipped huge chunks of the dialogue when he’s not in game as it was so tedious to read.
Another excellent addition to the series. At this point the only thing I would say to the author is to keep an eye out for those block paragraphs, as they can appear daunting, so try to add some more breaks to make it easier on the eyes.
