The fifth book in the series is an adrenaline filled rollercoaster. The rules have changed. The restaurant is a thing of the past. The carnage and bloodshed... remains the same.
Leaving a wake of bodies behind her, Elena has taken things to the next level. With law enforcement closing in, she and her new partner in crime hope to avoid the wide net they're casting. The relationship between her and Chase has grown yet one deputy has made it his personal mission to stop her. This book brings one journey to a close but the story isn’t over yet.
Years in the prison system have resulted in her becoming a shell of her former self, until she's granted an opportunity that will change the trajectory of her life. Finding herself in the care of a doctor who's been obsessed with her for years and whose intentions are anything but good.
I am over this character and now she done enlisted the hostage in her twisted game. I hope this young man gets caught before he does what he is planning to do. The po po have no clue.
The story gets more interesting with each installment. Chase's character development has been surprising but I guess even psychopaths need someone in their lives.
I think the sequencing was off in this towards the end. I would rather have known the "why" for the change in Elena's circumstances than be confronted with it and told those details would be explained in the next installment. Once again, the typos were a big part of the low rating.
