Littles & Lace #4

Spencer's Satisfaction

Rate this book
Thirty-six-year-old Spencer Highland is generally happy with his lot in life. He's got a great social circle, a job as a voice actor and audiobook narrator (which he loves), and a cat he's pretty sure owns his soul. But, since his last breakup, he's been lonely. He wants to mean something to someone again. Wants to take care of someone again.

He wants to be someone's Daddy again.

Unfortunately, courtesy of his personal hang-ups, putting himself back out there doesn't feel as easy as it sounds on paper.

Meanwhile, Tony Russo is a twenty-eight-year-old man who is convinced that he does not have his life together in the least. He's working a job which makes him miserable, and he knows he doesn't fit in anywhere but with his sister. He's never felt 'normal'.

Then there's Tony's embarrassing secret. He's a virgin. A twenty-eight-year-old virgin addicted to listening to kinky romance audiobooks.

After an embarrassing encounter, Tony finds himself connecting with Spencer in a way he's never connected with another person before. Tony is also blown away by the idea that his favorite narrator might be at all interested in him, too. But will Spencer still be interested when he finds out just how unintentionally high maintenance Tony is? Or, worse, what will Spencer say when he learns Tony's secret?

On the other side of the coin, Tony is exactly what Spencer's been missing, and Spencer plans to do everything in his power to make sure Tony understands how truly special he is.

« “Hi.” He’s too cute for words. »

This installment was exactly that. Super cute, super fluffy, very de-stressing.
I loved Tony, the kink exploration, the absolute calm energy this author infuses these Daddies with.
This series is all about acceptance and caring and found family, all happy thoughts and cuddle vibes.

Not my favorite of the series [Josh is the best, FYI], but still enjoyable and sweet.

“We’re all odd,” he shoots back, still grinning. “All the best people are.”

CW and tropes (spoilers):
- Slight age gap (28 vs 36)
- Age play (w/ ABDL)
- Undiagnosed neurodivergent MC
- Virgin MC
- Strict top/bottom
- Intercrural
- Phone sex
- Nipple play
- Toys
- Sensory play
- Restraints

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes & tags down below.

Is it too soon to want Spencer to stay the night? Or is it normal to get this clingy with the man who just gave me my first real taste of carnal delights? Is it lame to use the phrase ‘carnal delights’? Even in my thoughts? I feel like it is. Oh, God, I’m overthinking things.

This book is just a really sweet, low angst kink exploration romance. I think it’s done really well, and shows how someone can explore kinks and their sexuality both alone and with a partner. I know age play isn’t for everyone, but I feel like the type of kink isn’t *as* important as everything else here. It’s an important part, sure, but I feel like the self-exploration, and the building of trust with a partner in order to give the BDSM lifestyle a try should be the takeaway. It’s also just an adorable meet cute with one MC recognizing the voice of his favorite audiobook narrator, and them getting to know each other, going on cute dates, and finding what works for them. Kink-wise and in general. If you enjoy Daddy/little, BDSM, ABDL, or if you’re just curious, I think this series in general is a good place to start. Anna Sparrows has written a series that is really accessible and kink-friendly with very likable characters.

So, if you’re uncomfortable at any time, you can say ‘red light’ and we’ll stop immediately, no questions asked. And the same goes for me. If I say it, we stop.” I nod again. “Even if we’re not, um, Daddy and little boy, or whatever?” “At any time, Tony. I take consent seriously across the board.”

Consent is sexy.

I adored Spencer’s Satisfaction it was such a sweet Daddy/little story and I think it's fighting with my current favourite of the series Ted’s Temerity for top spot.

Spencer came out of a long term relationship that ended in a horrible way, leading to him question many things about his life, kinks, and being a Daddy. He has stopped looking for littles in his relationships but is also jealous of his close friends who have found their matches and settled. Instead, he’s been focusing on his career as an audiobook narrator and while living with his kitty.

One evening out at a diner, he meets Tony. Tony adorably admits that he recognized his voice from the books he listened to. Calling him by the pseudonym he uses for his more kinker and spicer works. There is a spark between them as Spencer reaches out to the embarrassed young man and asks for his number.

Goodness, I wanted to wrap up Tony in a warm blanket. He’s been an outcast his life, working at a job that causes him nothing but stress, kicked out by his grandmother because of his sexuality (but thankfully living with his twin sister). He has had a rough life but is so innocent and bright. Spencer and Tony made such a wonderful pair, to be honest. While aware of the Daddy and Little world through his books, Tony slowly learns about the community and realizes that dynamic and relationship is what he also craves and needs.

I enjoyed the discussion of different types of relationships, boundaries, and triggers and the importance of research and learning about the community. It is heavily stigmatized kink, so it was refreshing to see those conversations in this book.

Tony was relatable as well. He dreams of becoming a writer and working for himself....things I aspire towards as well.

“I could work from home and on my own schedule. I wouldn’t have to interact face-to-face with people. I could immerse myself in my fantasies and put them to paper. Escapism and earnings all in one!”

Me too, Tony, me too....

I also enjoyed how Tony’s neurodivergence was shown in this story and how Spencer never treated him differently and picked up on his needs.

Seeing all the characters together was wonderful as well. Everyone relaxing and being in their safe space with their Daddies and Mommies was sweet.

Overall I really enjoyed Spencer’s Satisfaction. It was an excellent addition to his lovely series! I randomly picked this series up last year and while ABDL and age play are not something I seek (I think I read one other series before), I am so glad I did! Looking forward to Chance's story~

The Daddy/Little dynamic isn't really my thing, but that's not the reason for my low rating.

This book, like the others in this series, is just too easy. Everything is perfect all the time. No one argues. Spencer and Tony are in love after spending a few days together.

Everyone accepts Tony immediately, and all the Littles become best buds.

I've watched kids play. They're little terrors. They negotiate, backstab, take sides. If the Littles go deep into Little space, to the point they're wearing diapers, why do they still act like adults on a stage?

Tony decides to start his own business, and within 48 hours he has investors, clients, success. Lol, sure. That's exactly how it works.

The characters are basically interchangeable, and everyone talks as if they're in a boardroom: overly formal and polite.

No tension. No friction. A random scene of manufactured drama is thrown in toward the end. And then, TA-DAH, it's a HEA!

I need to do myself, and the author, a favor and stay away.

Okay this book was… fine? I loved the idea and the meet cute and I liked Tony being innocent and Spencer being able to help him a lot but damn Spencer’s comments about little age play being sexual was weird. Like to each their own but him constantly being like “having sex with little did weird as fuck” … okay?… it just felt like it was a constant judgment dig and I’m all good with him having limits but somehow I felt judged through the damn book about reading this stuff even thought this author has written sexual little play before?!?!

Yeah it was just weirdly judgmental at times and even the 3rd book in this series kinda but a weird hard limit on it. Like I said people can have preferences and plenty of people don’t want it sexualized but I just think it can be done better without making everyone sound like a freak who enjoys it…

2/5 on spice. 2/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears.

Just lost interest. Wasn’t really into it.

But man, who wouldn’t love to meet their favorite audio voice in person, wrapped up in a hot package to take home and let him whisper in your ear while he takes care of you. 🫠

The good
    + The meet-cute
+ Spencer being a sort of blanket-Daddy, taking care of those around him
+ Spencer letting Tony explore what he wants in a relationship at his own pace
+ Spencer taking Tony on dates
    + Tony's new friends
+ Tony making sure Spencer knows he can safeword too
+ Spencer expanding his comfort zone a little bit every time, secure in the knowledge that he can stop anytime and Tony wouldn't mind
    + Suckling
+ Spencer telling Tony penetration is not a requirement for him to enjoy sex
+ Their discussion on having children
    + Frank
+ Spencer reading Tony a story!

The neutral
o I was a beta reader for this book. My review is probably biased
o Spencer told Chance he'd be perfectly fine being in a vanilla relationship, and Chance didn't believe Spencer could be happy in a relationship where he couldn't indulge in his Daddy kink. While that may be true for Spencer, it's definitely not true that everyone needs all of their kinks indulged in order to be happy in a relationship

The bad
    - Tanya was pretty invasive and should not have called Spencer the way she did when it obviously went against Tony's wishes. Also, Spencer notes that part of the reason Tony struggles with feeling ashamed of his neurodivergence is because of the way Tanya speaks about Tony

I really enjoyed watching Tony's confidence grow. Spencer was a lovely Daddy and took very good care of his boy. I'm glad Spencer is feeling confident in himself and his ability to be a good Daddy and partner again, after what happened with Emma. I'm excited to read Chance's story, and especially cannot wait for Josh's HEA. I think the author is saving Josh for last just to torture me. Anyway, would definitely recommend this book and the others in the series.

family

Love their love! This book was amazing. I loved watching them find not only themselves but find love with each other. This is a story of two men finding the love they have been missing.

This is a DDLB story with age regression if that’s not your thing I’d read something else.

I loved watching T explore and find what brings him peace. I love new to the community stories. This wasn’t just about T, S learned new things while he was supporting T and I loved watching the surprise he had. The writing was amazing, I felt the emotions. The smexy was yum, most of all the found family was amazing. I dream of a family like that.

For future me;

My favorite of the series so far !!

Spencer was an amazing Daddy being so understanding, loving, and supportive of Tony, especially Tony discovering his little side and exploring sex, never pushing him and letting Tony set the pace. And Tony was the cutest, but also so strong from having a rough life. They really delivered on the low-angst but super sweet and cute.

I appreciated and enjoyed the discussion of relationships, boundaries/limits, and triggers and that the author didn't have the characters find "the one" and discard their triggers and boundaries. I also liked how Tony's neurodivergence was portrayed, and that there wasn't a label on it and instead (in his words) "some kind of neurodivergent," which made him more relatable to me as someone who is neurodivergent but unsure of "what type." Spencer, or the gang, never treating him differently and reassuring him that he and his needs weren't "weird" was heartwarming and validating.

As much as I adored this book, I'm excited to jump on Chance's story next and cannot freaking wait for Josh's (I maybe have a teeny tiny theory hope)

It was time to read a Daddy/Little book. Always a quirky reading pleasure.

Around 55% when Tony and Spencer are doing their first Daddy/little scene, there is mention of how Spencer previously showed Tony the nursery in his home and Tony had positive emotions about it and that Spencer redecorated after that. The scene continues as Spencer puts Tony in a diaper and onesie that they had previously bought together online.

I am here to read a Daddy/Little book with all that entails, including first times. Especially all first times! The narrative had been building up to their first scene together in their roles. How disappointing that other first time events were off page and we are now in a later on scene.

I want to be there for Tony seeing his first ABDL nursery, always a good scene in D/l books. When he and Daddy Spencer look at Littles websites together for the first time and buy diapers and onesies for Tony, I want to see the scene, too. I can’t imagine why the writer left the reader out of these book highlights!
This is lazy writing and I am disappointed. DNF

There is age play awaking when an awkward man explores age play. Past characters from past books make appearances throughout this book.

Meeting your favorite book narrator, who is also a Daddy, making Spencer and Tony too cute.

Spencer's Satisfaction is fabulous, the books in this series just keep getting better. The main characters have depth, and the side characters add much to the story too. I laughed out loud at some of the banter with Spencer's sister and Frank the cat is awesome.

This is definitely the best one of the series. It's still a little bit rushed and there's some definite issues with the timing and/or how the timing is described in the book, for example one character will say was a few months the other character will say it was most of a year etc, but as a whole it was an enjoyable read.

I think this book did the best of the series so far at pacing despite some of the inconsistencies. In all three previous books there's been this huge jump from when the characters have their first big moment to either a month or multiple weeks later whatever. This doesn't necessarily have that in such blatant terms. The author approached pacing differently this time and just having a lot less references to exactly how long it had been and just let the characters exist and that worked for me.

I wanted to like the strongly hinted at autistic representation but it just didn't feel quite right. And the authors note the author mentions that she has a son on the spectrum and that she took a lot of the character traits for the neurodivergent character from that and that's a little weird to me but I also think she could have done more research beyond her child's autism. Autistic traits aren't always the same and children as they are in adults and I feel like it didn't quite make that distinction and it almost went so far to infantilize autistic adults. Now I want to be very careful here because I realized that the author had the best intentions and I can appreciate that, but as an autistic reader it felt a little bit cheap. I strongly encourage more research and to have some autistic and neurodivergent beta readers next time.

It's a fine line to draw because the neurodivergent character is the little in the equation of the age play daddy / little relationship.

Anyway, this is a very light-hearted read. There's a very little drama. There is a lot of internalized ableism and aphobia from the neurodivergent character. He is a 28-year-old virgin and thinks that that is a failure of life alongside believing that he is very freakish and weird. All of these beliefs are addressed and negated by other characters and the one character does start to also adopt that same behavior, but the internalized ableism and aphobia is there and it is a little bit hard to read sometimes. Note that the neurodivergent character is not on the asexual spectrum just has a lot of negative ideas about being so old and not having had sex yet despite wanting to.

One thing I loved about this book though is that the daddy character is bisexual and his past relationship with was with a woman. There is not a single moment and this book or any of the other books that have any sort of misogynistic roots or make comments about how much better it is with a man etc. I feel like that happens a lot in gay romance with a bisexual character who had previously been with women. All the sudden they realized that they didn't like their encounter with women or that men are inherently better or whatever and that does not happen at all here. It was a breath of fresh air and so encouraging. I loved that Spencer was comfortable in his bisexuality and all of his friends, most of whom are gay, had absolutely no qualms with him being with a woman. I also love that within their friend group there is a sapphic Mommy/little couple as well.

The series is generally quite good even if it isn't an all-time favorite. It does a lot of things well and that is appreciated.

Spencer is a gay romance book narrator and a Daddy, but he has been without a Little for 4 years. Tony is a very shy, introverted, neurodivergent young man, very inexperienced, and an avid listener to recoded gay romances, especially ones recorded by Spencer. The two meet one night at the diner where Tony works, Tony recognizes Spencer’s voice, then gets embarrassed being so fan struck and flees. Spencer follows him, fascinated and intrigued by this young man, asking for a date. Thus begins the story between the two, their growing physical attraction, the slow development of a Daddy/Little dynamic guided by Spencer but with pacing controlled by Tony, and the awakening and increased self-awareness as Tony discovers more about himself and his desires, his growing awe at this man who loves him in spite of his “quirks” who is so patient and giving with him, and the group of accepting friends he gains as an added bonus to his life with Spencer.
The writing about the journey Tony takes describes his thought processes, insecurities and self doubts as he processes this new person and lifestyle in a sensitive way, letting the reader really know and understand Tony on a deeper level, seeing into the mind of a person that doesn’t fit into the mainstream. Spencer’s approach is just what Tony needs to help him grow into the person he wants to be.
I really liked this book and Anna’s portrayal of the Daddy/Little dynamic and lifestyle in her book series, carrying characters from previous books over into the next one, helping the reader to see and know that family of friends that now supports Tony too.
Enjoyable read, waiting for the next book.

I loved this story. The characters seemed real and I could get behind them and their relationship. I loved that Spencer made sure that Tony's sister was happy and treated Tony's introduction to his friend group in a sensitive manner (but they called were there to help when Tony had to handle an abusive customer (he did so well before he had a panic attack). Lots of emotions in this story which were sensitively written. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content in a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

I don’t think I ever stood a chance against Tony. He was so adorable. From the very first moment he stepped on to the page, I wanted to wrap him up in my arms and never let him go. Thankfully, Spencer felt the same way.

After watching several of his friends find their Little ever after, he really wants to have a Little of his own. His last relationship left him a little bitter and with some trepidation, but he is definitely ready for Tony. Tony has had a hard time of it himself, with not really being understood and trying to make his way in a world not made for him. I loved that these two found each other. Spencer was such a kind and understanding Daddy. Tony is very new to age play and couldn’t have asked for a better partner to show him the way.

I think one of my favorite aspects of their relationship is that they really had satisfying intimacy without penetration. There are so many ways to be with your partner that don’t include penetration and it was nice to see a relationship portrayed where that wasn’t the main focus. Don’t get me wrong, there was no lack of spice here, but the scenes were wonderfully varied. I also quite enjoyed how Tony’s neuro-divergence was portrayed, but I loved the way Spencer treated him and his ND even more.

Anna Sparrows knocks it out of the park with this one for me. I think Tony may give Zeph (Ted’s Temerity) a run for his money as my favorite now. Five well deserved stars.

i would first like to make it known, this is my first ever BDSM/heavily kinky book.

characters- ✦✦

the characters frustrated me a little, specifically Tony. i understand his mindset, and the reasoning behind his personality... but it frustrated me when he constantly apologized. again, i get why he has that personality, but still... i think Spencer was a decent character, he had his moments where i really enjoyed him, but i also think he could have been formulated with a little more passion.

plot- ✦

there wasn't too much of a plot, it is mostly an older gay virgin who is on his path of self-discovery both in himself and in the BDSM community. there wasn't a lot of Tony or Spencer's past, which i would of really enjoyed if it was added in... but i think it was still amazing and so cool to see Tony really find himself towards the end, and realize how far he came throughout the book (lol, pun!).

overall- ✦✦.5

overall, i give it 2.5 stars, i think it was really interesting and a good way to open up not-as-knowledgeable people into the BDSM/Little and Daddy community, but i think a little more character development and plot would've added nicely.

I liked this much more than Ted's Temerity, and was able to finish this book and found a desire to continue the series. Spencer and Tony have an adorable meet cute. From there, they establish a strong rapport and find confidence in each other and what they want/need from a partner. I liked how Tony became more vocal with his kinks while still being himself which is generally shy. I had some pause with Spencer being adamant about no play during little time. I thought it might come off too judgmental and shameful. Instead, it's just a soft limit of his that no doubt gets explored in the character's HEA.

This series is like a weird itch for me. I don't particularly like the writing style or think this is one of the better Daddy/boy series out there. But the author has created a great group of friends and I want to read about them falling in love and supporting each other. I'm back on board with seeing this through to the end.

Oh! This book is so perfectly sweet and smutty 😍 I can't believe how much I like it considering I'm not into the younger little ages but I do, this is my favorite in the series so far.

I love the chemistry between Spencer and Tony, how despite being very obviously fictitious their love story feels real in it's pacing and development. I also like how balanced it is between Spencer's and Tony's personal journeys, both of them having to grow and learn and give themselves in almost equal parts.

I have to mention a very special thing too, the representation of neurodivergent people in this novela is PERFECT, natural, believable, relatable, so important for a minority that usually doesn't get goodl representation in stories.

The only thing I didn't like was the sister character, she was much more annoying than other family members in the series and felt a bit unnecessary at times, but I admit that might be because I didn't like her.

Anyways, I really enjoyed Spencer's Satisfaction, 4.5 out of 5 stars, totally recommend and will continue reading the series, I'm so invested in Chance story just by having read that short teaser in one of the last chapters, can't wait.

This is book number 4 of the Littles & Lace series and focuses on Spencer and Tony. Spencer is a daddy that hasn’t had a little since his last breakup. He misses having someone to care for but is hesitant to find a new little due to his previous relationship. Tony has always felt that he doesn’t fit in with anyone. When he meets his favorite book narrator, Spencer, the connection is instant. It doesn’t take them long to pursue each other. They met each other at the exact right time and were everything that the other needed. The way that they completed each other and built each other up was so amazing. I love that they took their time getting to know each other and exploring each other's needs and desires gradually. I have loved every single story of this series and this story did not disappoint. This was an excellent story and an excellent addition to the series.

Spencer and Tony are the best. Spencer is a voice narrator and a voice over artist. He is a Bisexual daddy who is single and not really ready to mingle in some ways. He wants a relationship. Tony is a gay virgin who loves listening to Spencer's books. He is lonely and has never dated anyone. The way that Anna rights about Tony's possible neurodivergent diagnosis is wonderful as someone who works with a children who are neurodivergent and there are many of Tony's reactions that I have seen with come of my clients. Tony made me want to give him the biggest hug.

This book has my heart. Let me rephrase this... THIS WHOLE SERIES HAS MY HEART. I started reading this thinking it was a quick like hour long read and was quickly surprised with how quickly Anna made me love these men. The spice is spicy and the Kink is kinky. I have never been into Daddy and lIttle play but no lie this made me interested.

In Anna's newest book, she introduces Spencer to Tony, a neurodivergent young man who doesn't realize he's also a Little. This is the first book I have ever read about a Little discovering himself and Spencer is absolutely the perfect Daddy, patient, loving and embracing of Tony's issues. I believe Anna's empathy has led her to write one of the best books ever about easing into a kink and exploring it. Spencer's dialogues with his cat are hilarious and I would have loved more. Spencer also works on some of his issues with past Littles, acknowledging important limits in their relationship while sharing steamy scenes and showing Daddies can learn and evolve, too. Spencer is the Daddy you never knew you wanted. This is my favorite book of the series so far though I loved them all and can't wait for the next. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

An emotionally gripping story with two MC's who are absolutely made for each other and will have you rooting for them!
I totally adored Tony and often wanted to hug him or laugh with him. Spencer was the perfect match, so gentle, supportive, and caring. Spencer definitely helped Tony come out of his shell and become the man he was always meant to be - which was heartwarming to see. They had some issues to learn how to deal with and some to overcome, and when they did, they discovered a deep connection, genuine love, and the path to HEA.
Many secondary characters were a great addition to the story, even Frank the cat.
I really enjoyed this book, it was well written, had mid range angst, a bit of steam, and some amazing characters.

What a fun and enjoyable read. Tony is an introvert that loves reading MM kinky romance that Spencer happens to narrate professionally. They are both looking for love, and they meet at the restaurant where Tony works. Tony recognizes Spencer's voice and that starts a super sweet, funny, and really enjoyable story between Spencer, a caring Daddy, and Tony, a little who doesn't realize that's what he is. This is book 4 in the Littles & Lace series, and characters from earlier stories are part of the supportive friend group that helps Spencer and Tony along the path to their HEA. Highly recommend this one and all other books in this series!

Another great addition to the series. I absolutely loved that Tony recognized Spencers voice almost immediately as his audiobook reader. I definitely have a habit of looking at other books my audiobook reader narrates.

Tony may have been new to ageplay and hadn't had many sexual experiences, but I loved how brave and strong he was about communicating what he wanted. The mutual check in with each other really showed how equal thier love is.
I think most of us would have had Spencer little caveman feeling of being Tony's many firsts. It was sexy and cute all in one.

Can't wait for the next book!.
