This series has never been good, but this volume reaches new lows with a particularly stupid rival plot. Yes, both the plot and the rival are particularly stupid.
Still liking this series a lot. It's a fun spicy read, however I'm not sure how I'll feel about the next volume. The cliffhanger in this one was a bit over the top.

This series just continues to be so good and blows my expectations out of the water with each new volume.
I adore the two of them together as a couple and as individuals! It’s been such a joy seeing their relationship strengthen especially in this volume when certain situations arise and could potentially harm them.
This was just another solid, wonderful volume in this series and I will be eagerly awaiting the next one. If you like mafia vibes, smutty manga with a strong heroine, a fierce, protective love interest and maybe a few action scenes here and there to make your heart race, pick up this series immediately!
Today's post is on Yakuza Lover, Vol. 6 by Nozomi Mino. It is 170 pages and is published by Viz Media. The cover has Yuri and Oya on it wrapped in an embrace. As it is the sixth volume in the series, you need to have read the first five volumes to understand the story. The intended reader is someone who likes mob romances and over the top plot lines. There is mild foul language, sexuality, and mild violence in this manga. The story closely follows Yuri. There Be Spoilers Ahead. From the back of the manga- Unable to shake off the effects of the aphrodisiac he was drugged with, Oya finds an antidote in a passionate night with Yuri. Later, the Oya syndicate packs the banquet hall to celebrate their underboss’s birthday. When Oya sees how beautiful and nervous Yuri is, he decides he wants her all to himself and proposes a competition! Meanwhile, Jin, a man from Yuri’s past, suddenly appears—and it turns out he’s an organized crime detective!
Review- Oya is drugged from the end of the previous volume and he needs Yuri to help him. So they have sex and after Yuri thinks about much she has grown over the course of their relationship. Before she would have confronted the woman who drugged Oya but now all her attention is on him and his needs. But their time is short and Yuri has to deal with an old friend, who wants to be more. The plot is pretty good in this volume, with Yuri having to fight for her love and learn to blend in more with Oya's men. This is series is fun if you like mafia/mob romances with the drama and ridiculous plots. More drama soon!
I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
4.5 for this doing exactly what it says on the tin.
Quick side notes, though😜 -That opening... I need some milk to douse that fire. *Also love Yuri's mental aside of "who knew poison could make you so horny?". -Oya accepting Yuri's love language of gifts/gift giving. -When Yuri arrives to Oya's bday party, and she walks down the aisle towards his table at the front of the room, I was like "a wedding at the half-way point 👀?!? -Oya dead serious telling Yuri she can't leave the hospital room or he'll pout had me literally rolling my eyes back and laughing way too loud. *It occurred to me that Oya's probably never had anyone sit by his bedside in hospital. Like, yeah, he's got body guards outside, but no one to cuddle him/wash his back. Just want to be a comfort. And he's probably never had anyone in turn to comfort 💔. -F*** you, Jin *But you gave us a proud Yuri moment when she goes "I will not entertain you or your flirting. I'd rather be with Oya". Our girl's precise.
Judge all you want. I'm not mining Pulitzer material. I read this because it is a good smutty/sweet time 😉.

I am quite literally addicted to this series. I’m going to post a spoiler right now. I swear if the original couple does not end up together, I’m going to blow my fuse. Because they are great for each other. Absolutely beautiful and fantastic. Oya and Yuri for the win. I cannot believe that psychopath stabbed Oya. I definitely thought she was going for Yuri. Also, the brothers best friend is annoying. He’s a nuisance to me. And I say this not because I don’t think that there needs to be challenge but I say this because he literally didn’t like her until Yuri became “pretty”. I don’t want a series to end. I, but up to volume nine and I know it’s a 12 or 13 manga series but I really don’t want to end.

Okay. This volume is the best of the whole series so far. I love Yuri's complete wholehearted dedication to Oya when she says That PANEL. She has seriously become a total rock star. I love her as a character. I mean, should we be rooting for her to continue to pursue a relationship with someone so involved with crime when her cop friend is screaming at her to come to her senses? No, probably not. But I rooted for Light Yagami too, so... 🤷🏻♀️ Also, that cop "friend" is an arrogant jerk 😤
A very suspenseful and action packed volume! Wow a lot happened! There were cute moments, for example when Yuri gave Oya the present she bought for him. Such a sweet scene! The artwork in those panels was beautiful. I really liked their facial expressions. Very cute! I really enjoy seeing those moments between them in this story. The cop guy is really cute and kind of cool! He came off as kind of creepy at times though. Which is pretty ironic considering that he's the good guy! There were still some cringy and awkward moments. Just skimmed those though so it wasn't a problem. Fun series overall and a quick read! 4 stars
There is a lot going on in this one. Oya is stabbed protecting Yuri. Another character, Jin, is introduced from Yuri's past in the hospital. I guess to add some more drama as he is a cop and has romantic feelings for Yuri. Oya towards the end becomes very possessive/protective of Yuri and doesn't want to let her out of his sight. This after she is basically kidnapped by Jin for her own protection and saved by Oya. I can't wait for the next in this series to see what happens.
Finally, we are getting back to the heart of the series, more Oya and Yuri! It looks like the manga is taming down a bit and it's focusing more on the story rather than the smut, which is fine. I enjoyed this volume because it was just filled with cuteness.
I like that Oya is soften towards Yuri and Yuri is standing her ground more. The drinking birthday scene was pretty hilarious and there's a new character! Jin, I smell a love-triangle brewing. I am looking forward to book 7.
I'm halfway through the series now and I feel like the only interesting aspects of the couple is when an outside force is trying to break them up 😆 that's when we see the MMC's true Yakuza nature. He's mostly a softie-for-her trope and I want the anime angst I guess...
In this issue specifically, there was another happening that is heading towards a resolution WAY too fast. At least we see a glimmer of the unhinged violent side I'd expect of a mafia boss...
🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 jesucristo
no bueno “I don’t want anyone to see you or touch you. I’m going to keep you locked up for a while” pasamos de hot a creepy de mierda ayuda OYA MIRAME VOS NO SOS ASÍ

Not sure how I feel about the "love triangle" it felt contrived even for this series. Also I think it would have felt more dramatic if spoilers: . But maybe that story arc isn't done yet. Idk. Still enjoyed it, especially the lovey dovey stuff in the hospital
3.5 stars. This volume was the most ridiculous yet, but I liked it. Honestly it started out a little boring - I did not find Oya's birthday party interesting and I was starting to worry about where this volume was all headed. Then suddenly it got chaotic. Silliness ensued, but it kept me reading and laughing. And at its core, there is an oddly sweet romance.
continues to be the ultimate guilty pleasure. the drama…the cuteness…
not sure I love the triangle here though (jin is a real asshole and not in the running at all tbh), but the ending really threw me for a loop…??!?!? oya better be out of his mind because that’s a NO SIR

This whole series I’ve read so fast like an hour at most idk why I like it so much and why I only get 1 copy each time then I have to wait to get another and I’m way too into it it’s one of those series I wish they just released it all at once
There is so much going on in this volume! First the hot cop who is sketchy and now Oya is even more toxic?! How will Yuri handle everything in the next volume??
5 stars because the cop is better looking than Oya >.> imo...But personality wise....urghhhhhhhh
