Forget everything you thought you knew about the skin microbiome – It’s time for a reboot! Rebooting the Biome is the first and only book that aims to reshape the narrative about what it means to properly care for our skin by respecting the symbiotic nature of the entire skin ecosystem. The authors, Dr. Doris Day M.D. and Thomas M. Hitchcock, Ph.D., aim to take you on an entertaining journey through the skin biome filled with anecdotes, historical lessons and unexpected twists as we present new information and correct misinformation about the skin, the skin microbiome and the overall skin ecosystem that are inextricably linked to our health and beauty.
Rather than take outdated skin science and gut microbiome data and try to shoehorn it into dermatology, this book distills cutting-edge skin biome research and compares it to what we thought we knew. The authors' goal is to have you completely rethink what it means to have healthy skin, as they show you how the secret to youthful, healthy skin and a better quality of life has been living on us the whole time.

Informative and helpful to understand. Definitely an eye opener. Skin health is much more than just keeping a youthful appearance. This books talks through the science and care for your biome and how to keep it healthy and thriving
Very engaging and fun read for such heavy science subject matter. My only complaint is that at times it read like an infomercial for the authors skincare product without any substantial alternatives proposed. Statements like “choose a biome safe moisturizer” without guidance on how to do that. Overall, an informative read that I would recommend for anyone with skin issues.
