Have you ever thought to yourself, "I just need a break... some time out of life just to stop, breathe, and think"? If so, then Enchanted: A Tale of Remembrance is the book for you! In her debut novel, Leia Marie manages to seamlessly combine fantasy with real-world scenarios. Each section takes you into the world of a few individuals who do, in fact, get a time-out. Reading about their experiences and choices during this pause from life also makes it a bit of a self-help book. Each individual is unique but very realistic and relatable. Fans of Matt Haig's The Midnight Library will enjoy this tale about multiple people's lives, the choices they made along the way, and what they do after taking some time out to consider their journey forward.
Enchanted is truly a magical read. There are almost two ways to read it, as a narrative, or as a spiritual healing text. Or like I did, which was a bit of both. I was drawn in by the second person narration, which placed me in a similar state of mindset as guided meditation. The dives into different character perspectives are strong emotional experiences; almost like glimpsing into someone else’s trauma healing. This book is a connector, a healer, and one that will stick with you.
