Rate this book
An all new flirty, lighthearted, standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg guaranteed to make you swoon.

Blakely Foxx is having one of those years.

Her divorce may have been finalized a few months ago, but her ex is already engaged to someone half her age. Her younger boss is determined to sabotage her chance at getting the promotion she rightly deserves. And to make matters worse, she’s closing in on the big 4-0. There isn’t enough wine or ice cream in the world to convince her things will turn around.

When Blakely meets Slade Henderson, she’s left wondering why an early-thirties, hotter than hell, cardiothoracic surgeon would take an interest in her.

She’s been warned that he’ll break her heart, but she’s willing to take the chance. Not only is he helping her get that promotion, but in the process, he’s encouraging her to find the parts of herself she’s lost over the past few years.

Slade shows her that good guys really do exist, but who knew the hardest part about turning forty would be realizing the man you thought was a rebound, is actually your happily ever after?

Let's start by saying that this book had already hooked me by the cover reveal!
I mean... Look at this cover? I wanna lick it! Better yet when the cover model is also  Brazilian like me, so I have no other choice but to swoon over our men.
Just. Like. That. (Sorry, not sorry)

With that out of the way, I have to say that K Bromberg delivered another great story with the right dose of hot and sweet, balanced with an insecure woman trying to be a better version of herself, and a really perfect man capable of empower any woman.

I'll be honest by saying that I couldn't stop reading this book... I've started it before bed, with the intention of only read the first couple of chapters... Then 4:00am and 40% of the book later, I stopped to sleep a few hours, and grab it back as soon as I my eyes open!

I'm obsessed with Slade! This 31 yrs old cardiac resident could hold my heart for life and I would be totally ok with that.
He's so perfect that even Blakely thinks that he's too good to be true, and in fact, I hate that he's a fictional character, because he's a real man from inside out.

Everything begins and ends with the heart

39 yrs old Blakely, is going through a lot of changes and intern crises in her life, after a 17yrs marriage ends, and is having a hard time to get her mind away from failing.
She got really burned by her excuse of an ex, and have zero self esteem!
And I really mean none-zero-nada-even less!
Her insecurities started to annoy me at the point of drop my rating.

That fact bothered me a lot after the middle of the book, but then I realized that this was the perfect way to show how it was possible for her to be a better version of herself.
How not to be so stiff and put together in front of others, but broken inside.
How this was the perfect way to show how good Slade's influence on her was.
How she had learned to grown, to evolve, and obviously, to love and be happy again.

“Let it go. Take the ride. Put your toes in the sand. Howl at the moon. Do whatever it is you want to do so long as it’s in pursuit of finding you again.”

This book is about a second chance.
But not a second chance romance...
A second chance at being happy, at find the right person even when you think that this isn't for you, or that your insecurities are screaming that you're not enough or not worth it.

She is.
You are.
I am.

And for that, I'm giving my full stars.

Read it in one sitting!!Loved it so much, fun, sexy sweet !Amazing characters and the romance was cute and full of tention and flirty!I had a smile on my face from the beginning!

This is an age-gap romance where the woman is older than the guy but not by much. I really like it for it because mostly we have older man younger woman but in this one it's the other way! Slade is exactly what Blakely needs! He helps her a lot and he cares about her!

Their moments together is intese, cute and sexy! They have a great banter with tention!

5+ 'Blade's To-Do List' Stars!
ARC provided via Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.

I am in love. I AM SO IN LOOOOOOOOOOVE. I just finished reading one of my absolute favorite books of 2020 and definitely one of my favorites written by K. Bromberg. And that is saying a lot since I am a huge fan of her novels. This story consumed me, the characters, the romance, their connection, their chemistry, the emotions. I just loved it ALL. And I am just going to say this: Slade Henderson is one of the best heroes Kristy has ever written. Period.

So, Flirting with 40 is Bromberg’s new standalone and it tells the story of Blakely Foxx, a recently divorced woman who is approaching the big 4-0 and is fighting to get the promotion she deserves. That is not easy, especially having a bitchy boss and a wrecked self-confidence. Enter Slade Henderson. Good guy, gorgeous, 31 year old cardiothoracic surgeon who also is in a difficult moment professionally and apparently is not ready for commitment. But these two met and sparks fly all over the place. Will this just be a rebound or will it be so much more than what either expected?

“Let it go. Take the ride. Put your toes in the sand. Howl at the moon. Do whatever it is you want to do so long as it’s in pursuit of finding you again.”

I loved the premise of this story. It promised an age-gap romance mixed with a fake relationship, a sexy good guy, a magnetic woman and a whole lot of sexiness and feels. I got exactly what I wanted and so much more. Flirting with 40 gripped me from start to finish, I adored this crew of characters, this couple and their relationship. I loved the tension. I loved the chemistry. I loved the romanticism. I loved seeing Blake and Slade’s layers slowly peeling off. I loved the background stories of both. I loved the smoking hot sexy scenes. I loved when the feelings got in the mix. I loved EVERYTHING. I am a sucker for lighthearted romances, with a whole lot of sexiness, less drama and all the feels.

“You want the promotion? Then take it. You want to tell Heather off? Then tell her. You want me? Then love the new Blakely first because that’s who I want to laugh with. Not the one you think all these people want you to be—whoever that is. Just the you from the beach bonfire who was willing to dig her toes into the sand and howl at the moon. Just the you who hates the outdoors and drinks whiskey at a bar after a long day at work and tells off men who try to talk to her. Just the you who is willing to go along with crazy schemes like the one I concocted because I feared I wouldn’t get a second glance otherwise. That’s who I’d pick every time. Hands down. Just you.”

Of course, the best part about Flirting with 40 is its main characters. So not sorry but Slade just completely stole the show for me. I love Kristy’s heroes and she did an outstanding job with him. He is an all-around good guy, sexy-as-hell, protective, romantic, caring, funny. Basically just freaking amazing. I loved him so much. Can I please have him? And Blakely. Damn! I love a smart heroine. She flourishes in this book and, with Slade’s help, her confidence and self-love just blossom. And them together? Pure perfection. Forget about the age (it’s so not important here), these two just belong together. Their connection is the real deal.

“Love is sometimes hard to accept,” he says.
“And sometimes it’s so effortless it’s scary.”

Therefore, (obviously) I am rating Flirting with 40 with my special 5+ STARS rating because I can assure you it definitely deserves it. K. Bromberg’s writing just does it for me. BIG TIME. And this couple was addicting. Their love story hooked me from start to finish and their chemistry burned the pages. Blade forever! (I love that they have a ship name haha). Kristy, congratulations because you gave us an outstanding thriving romance that I am sure many will adore. Highly, highly recommend reading this one!

Flirting with 40 is a fun and steamy contemporary romance by the creative genius K. Bromberg. Blakely Foxx is recovering from a messy divorce and she has her sights set on climbing the professional ladder. In hopes of getting a promotion, she will do whatever it takes to keep her "eye on the prize". Slade Henderson is a smoking hot surgeon who meets Blakely in a bar and is taken with her instantly. Despite the age difference between the two, a connection is formed and Slade accompanies Blakely to her company retreat. With the great outdoors, passion, and romance on the horizon, this office getaway transforms into one unforgettable trip!

"There is an electricity humming in my veins that's equal parts thrill and lust and desire and I want all three to win."
Told in multiple POV, Flirting with 40 is a stunning read with passion, romance, and some good old fashioned office drama. Although the overall mood of the read is light, as always, Ms. Bromberg has crafted a complex story full of heart. The connection between Slade and Blakely is easy and yet, the baggage they both carry and the struggles of real life are stacked against them.
"This woman is everything...every-fucking thing."
Overall, Flirting with 40 will appeal to contemporary romance fans who enjoy a slight age gap, witty text, and tons of flirty fun! As always, reading K. Bromberg is an absolute delight!

This was exactly what my little heart needed!
Bromberg penned a light, hilarious, and steamy story that's just what the doctor ordered. I smiled, laughed, and swooned my way through this charming read.
I empathized with Blakely, the heroine, completely. (Maybe it's because I, too, am nearing forty—*gasps*.) I fell head-over-heels for Slade too. (What's not to love about a gorgeous medical professional that knows exactly what he wants?) Their love isn't too angsty, but this *is* a Bromberg book, so it's there. ;)
If you need a book that feels like a vacation, look no more. This is the book for you!

Blakely Foxx is a newly divorced woman approaching her 40's who works in advertising for a cosmetics company. She loves her job and it's her passion, but her younger boss seems to have it out for her, and enjoys making things difficult for her. She's working hard to try and get the promotion she deserves and hopes there will be some good things coming her way soon. For a while now her life hasn't turned out how she planned. Her ex is already engaged to someone new and half her age, and she's still trying to figure out what her future holds. Then she meets a hot heart surgeon named Slade Henderson who is almost too good to be true. He's kind, devastatingly gorgeous, and fun. He's also younger and seems interested. It's been way too long since a man has paid her this much attention, and she's in uncharted territory. She couldn't remember the last time she'd flirted with someone. He's like a breath of fresh air and shows her nice guys still exist. He was everything she didn't know she needed, but would she throw caution to the wind and take a chance on love?

-I was interested in Blakely the first night we met.

-The woman's gotten ahold of me somehow.

-I want to listen to how my body feels. How my heart is racing. How my head is swimming. How that ache in me that he created burns. And how I want... just simply want for the first time in what feels like forever.

Flirting With 40 by K. Bromberg is a fun, flirty, standalone romance about undeniable connections, second chances, and finding yourself. About not letting others steal your sparkle, and not being afraid to put yourself out there. That age is just a number, and it's never too late to grab happiness. I really enjoyed this story and loved Slade! He's swoony to the extreme!

Blakely and Slade.

She's 39 years old. Has been divorced from her husband for seven months now. He's about to get married to a girl almost half their age. Plus Blakely's boss Heather is a major ... b-word person, who thinks Blakely's too old for the trendy job.

Blakely and Slade meet at a bar.

And suddenly he's kinda her pretend-or-not-pretend boyfriend for the company's bonding retreat.

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN ....

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH BLAKELY + SLADE?
WILL THERE BE A HAPPY END?

Adorable! And funny.
I really enjoyed reading this.
Such a sweet and fun romance.

A kind of finding-yourself-again self help book. LOL!

For most of the story we're at the company retreat at a cabin lake resort place.
So we have lots of fun adventurey moments. And lots of angry-at-the-boss moments.

I really loved reading this.

Slade is so adorable and somehow the grown-up in this whole story.

It's a bit as if he's a guardian angel here to help Blakely find herself again ... and then he'll disappear after he's done his job. But of course we want him to stay and get that happily ever after!

I wouldn't mind getting a spin-off for Blake's bestie! She's a hilarious single mom!

Flirting with 40 was such a sweet & adorable & funny age-gappy adventure love story. READ IT!
Also - Slade is mine - so you need to get your own book!

FIVE SWOONY, I CANNOT STOP SMILING STARS!!!

I was totally and completely smitten with this great guy romance!! Love is just better the second time around for Blakely. And oh boy...was it HOTTTT!

There were so many things I loved about this book. Blakely is recently divorced and struggling with starting over. When some younger, hot guy approaches her in a bar she just can't imagine why he would want to talk to her. Her ex husband left her with broken down self-esteem and poor self-image. When she gets the opportunity, she leaves swiftly chocking the whole experience up to a fluke.

However, fate has other plans for Blakely and Slade when she runs into him on the street, while she's chatting with her ex and his significantly younger bride-to-be. Slade to the rescue. He swiftly steps in as her younger, incredibly sexy and successful doctor boyfriend.

Slade missed his chance with her the first time, but this time he is not letting her slip through his fingers. Stepping in as her fake boyfriend just felt easy and natural. They definitely share chemistry and time spent together feels like it was meant to be.

Blakely is working on herself. She's trying to find a new normal since she lost so much when her husband left. She no longer knows who she is, heading toward forty is also an added burden, and her boss is trying to make her life at work miserable. Slade is a problem solver and he offers to make her a to-do-list and help her to accomplish it. First mission is to accompany her on a week long, team building retreat with her work colleagues as her boyfriend.

Slade is out spoken, charming and easy to love. The man has charisma and he easily wins over everyone he meets. He is open and forthcoming and I just adored him. It doesn't hurt that he is driven and a resident in cardio-thoracic surgery. Right now he is struggling with his own issues, but he has no problem pushing them aside to tackle Blakely's first.

The retreat is going to be an eye-opener for both of them in so many ways.

Enjoy this incredibly sexy and sweet story that delivers so many feels and swoon-worthy romance moments that will sweep you right off your feet. I absolutely loved this story. The author captures Blakely's struggles and her winning moments so well that you'll be cheering for her as you read. She was definitely a work in progress as she sorted through her life and made it into what she deserved. Slade was her biggest supporter and that man could give a compliment like no other. He was smooth but completely sincere. The man was the whole package and a total catch. He makes you want one of your very own. Definitely a Must Read!

ÇA ME DÉPASSE

WOW. Flirting With 40 by K. Bromberg was such a feel good romance! In a sexy, swoony and heartwarming way. And beyond my expectations. This steamy and sweet romance put a permanent smile on my face, filled my stomach with butterflies and gave me goosebumps! Amazing. Awesome. Exceptional.

Blakely Foxx is having a hard time with her life. Her new boss is driving her crazy even when she has an accomplished career. Her ex husband is moving on and fast. She feels like her life is all time low. Untill an interesting and refreshing stranger in a bar. Cardiothoracic Surgeon Slade Henderson is not only younger. He is optimistic, charming and determined to show her that she is so much more than what she feels. But is she ready to take the leap? Is Slade ready to attach himself permanently to someone?

This story was a blast. From the very first page I was hooked to the storyline. Slade is irresistible! Heart of gold. Gorgeous body. He is always doing and thinking something positive and kind. I love his mischievous and naughty side with jaw dropping sex appeal! He is pure sunshine after a rainy day. And he filled my heart with warmth and swoon. Blakely may be older by age but Slade is beyond mature and considerate and effortlessly confident. Blakley tried to resist him but he just pushed inside her heart. And she needed someone like him to remember. The constant negativity from work and personal life suppressed the true Blakely. Who was this confident, sassy, fierce, brilliant and feisty woman. She lost herself but their adventures slowly made her fight for herself. She moved past her doubts and insecurities. And she stood up for her happiness! I loved this woman with all her struggles and achievements. She is so real and inspiring. The author dealt with the issues associated with reaching certain age so beautifully!

Slade and Blakely have a sensational chemistry. It started as playful and friendly heat as Slade challenged Blakely to tackle her fear and just go for it losing her inhibitions. And the passion started to infiltrate and then dominate their feels! It was so freaking hot for sure. The author put so much deep emotions in middle of their flirty journey! It was a dangerously addictive mix for any reader!

Firting With 40 by K. Bromberg was a colourful and absolutely adorable romance. It had everything that I love in a great romance! Brilliant storyline. Unforgettable characters. Steamy, swoonworthy and heartaching feelings. An unputdownable read for sure.

⭐️1 STAR⭐️

I'm always looking for older women in my romances so I had not read the blurb prior starting this but knew it was an age gap romance between a young man —as pictured on cover— and a woman close to her forties—hence the title. I went in with little expectations, looking for a sexy and lighthearted read, though full disclosure, I started it trying to forget what the cover model looked like. Personally not a fan of the young puppy look of this dude, lol.

Sadly, early on reading Flirting With 40, I struggled to stay engaged. The heroine was constantly doubting herself and her fixation about the age difference between her and Slade was excessively mentioned for it to make me feel aggravated.

I wish older woman in age gap romance trope wouldn't come with chapters of insecurities though. It kinda ruins the whole appeal in this reverse trope to me that they need a man's actions to validate their worth. And when you learn that the age gap conflict which took SO MUCH space on the pages is only of 8 years... You just don't get it. *shrugs*

In the end, the contrived age gap conflict, the juvenile feel of the heroine's POV, the redundancy of her complaints made it hard for me to enjoy "Flirting With 40" for the lighthearted read it was meant to be. Add to this a dearth of chemistry (how can a guy with that much swag can bring no spice at all will remain a mystery) AND steam, this one fell flat for me and I decided to quit my losses around 70%. I've no doubt it ends with an HEA, with the heroine overgrowing her lack of confidence and any shortcomings thanks to her new man. Meh.

One last thought about the cover model: I've asked a few friends about it and none gave this dude a year over 25 years old. I think he looks 20 at most. Through the heroine's eyes, it feels like the hero is so much younger than her, so maybe it was meant to fit her portrayal of him? Either way, the cover model looking fresh out of highschool versus his age on the pages doesn't match and in my opinion is a disservice for the book.

Spoilers ahead

I finished this book and forgot I'd read it until I came on GR smh

What crashed this for me was the h's insecurity and lack of a backbone in dealing with her bitchy boss. Yes the divorce may cause her to lose some confidence but why'd the author go in the direction of so much insecurity instead of making her boss up? There's nothing more beautiful than seeing a woman reclaim her power. We are badasses dammit!

The H was huh.....something about him didn't work for me. He said and did all the right things but I didn't quite like him as I should've

The chemistry was bland.....season the damn thing

All in all this was a ME issue not really the book, I think lol

No cheating
From comments the H's friends made I got a whiff of manwhoring
Older woman/younger man
h had been with her husband for many years(I forgot how many) they've been divorced 7 months after he cheated and left her for OW. I get the impression that was her one and only, don't quote me I can barely remember
I wasn't satisfied with that epilogue

Flirting with 40 is a new standalone romance by the talented K. Bromberg. This is an age gap romance between two people who are at a place in their lives where a relationship isn't something they are looking for, but fate has other plans. I have read a lot of great books this year, and Flirting with 40 is at the top of the list. I have read a lot of Kristy's books and this might be my all-time favorite! Slade and Blakely's story just got me right in the heart! Slade is swoonworthy, sexy and everything a book boyfriend should be! A chance meeting between two strangers in a bar leads to flirting, laughs and fun. But ends with Blakely walking away. Blakely is almost forty and trying to get a big promotion at work. She's having to deal with a younger boss who seems to have it out for her. Slade loves his job but is waiting to hear about possible changes. He's not happy that Blakely just walked away. He can't stop thinking about her and that isn't something he's used to. But when he sees her on the street, fate seems to be on his side. Again. He pretends to be her new boyfriend and convinces her to let him go on her company retreat with her. He wants to help her get the promotion, but more than that, he wants to help her find herself again. She's divorced and seems to have lost who she was. He has plans to make her remember and learn to fight for herself again. Blakely can't believe a younger and extremely handsome stranger wants to be with her. But she's going to just go with it. She needs to be more spontaneous and maybe Slade is the perfect rebound. Being with Slade brings out her confidence, her laugh, her carefree attitude. But it also makes her see things about herself that she needs to change. She stops forgetting that he's younger. She stops thinking to much. She starts to remember to actually have fun! But what happens after their pretend time is over? Will they admit that they weren't really pretending before it's too late? Oh man! This story! I loved it so much! There was just something about Slade and his easy going style that got to me. He's younger than her, but he's in his thirties so it isn't taboo. He also has a career that he loves and he's good at. He doesn't care about the age difference, he just wants to be with her. Blakely is hung up on the age difference, but she doesn't let it stop her. She's trying to find herself and that was so refreshing! She's already gorgeous, smart and confident, she just needed to remember how to use it. I love an age gap story and really love when the woman is older! Overall, I loved every word. I laughed, cried more than once and got hot and bothered.

P.S.: I love that Slade makes lists!

"…And maybe, maybe it’s as simple as I like you, Blake.”
“Well, I like ice cream, too, but that doesn’t mean that I’d jump at a chance to go and lick every cone my mouth comes in contact with.” That sounded way worse than I meant it to, and I blush fifty shades of red at how stupid I sound. “Never mind. Forget I said that.”
“Licking is never bad, huh?” He takes a long glance at my lips before coming back to my eyes. There’s desire darkening in his gaze, and of course, my brain scrambles over what to say so I can at least sound witty. “Does that mean you do or you don’t like me, then?”
"No. I didn’t say that.” So much for trying to sound intelligent. “I like you. A lot.”

“Morning.”
“Please tell me you weren’t watching me sleep.”
“Of course not. You’re a horrid sight to behold. Drooling and snoring and half-open eyes.” I mock shiver. “And you’re still absolutely gorgeous.”

“I don’t see the lines around your eyes that you crack jokes about. I see evidence of laughing and living, and damn it, I want to know the story behind each and every one of them. You’re so damn hung up your age, Blakely, but when I look at you? I just see you.”

Fun-fun-fun was what I needed and I certainly found lots of it in spades while reading Bromberg's latest. A bit lighter than most from this author, but it was perfect with a great cast of characters, a tender and meaningful storyline while keeping the wit, charm and banter at full steam ahead from start to finish. A younger guy/older woman, fake relationship in a second chance at life, love and happiness!

I simply loved it!

I want to put my toes in the sand and howl at the moon. Give me a handsome, younger cardiac surgeon like Slade Henderson to snog, and I would woof, howl, purr, meow and make what ever animal noise he wants me to. Damn that man is sex on legs.

Blakely Foxx is nearing forty, newly divorced and struggling with her new bitchy boss. Slade is the perfect antidote to it all.

I should make a list of things I like about him because he does like a list, I know he prefers a To Do list, but that would just be a short list (slide it in Slade):
He’s funny
He’s romantic
He’s great at his job
He’s compassionate
He’s a loving son
He’s an amazing friend
He’s so sexy
He’s resourceful
He kisses like a dream
He makes a girl feel like she’s a goddess
I just totally fell in love with him.

Flirting With Forty is a fun, feel good read. Fist bump, older ladies because we are still sexy and we don’t need a Slade to tell us that; although that would be nice - roaaaaaarrrrrr.

It's okay.
Tbh I was a bit bored and skimmed to finish it.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Age gap.
Hero is accused by his friends if being a man-whore.
He is super busy with his work so has little time for relationships. His friends say once the woman gets attached he moves on to the next one but leaves behind a queue of women in love with him.
No other woman drama.
Her ex is on the scene, engaged to someone else.
HEA.
Epilogue.

Flirting With 40 was a fun book to read. This book starts with a meet cute in a bar between an older woman and a younger man and turns into a great age gap story.

Slade is a busy guy with his surgeon residency who finds himself with some unwanted time on his hands. He is nice, handsome and charismatic however is a fixer then leave her type of guy. Blakely is an older divorcee who was left for the younger woman. With problems at her job plus the divorce leave her with low self esteem Slade is the cure to all her woes.

They were a fun couple to read and I really enjoyed this book. I think it’s great to read the reverse age gap stories as there is still fun to be had nearing 40! Never too old for your HEA!

Blakely Foxx is recently divorced and nearing 40. Her much younger than her boss seems to hate her & make her feel outdated, even though Blakely has devoted nearly 2 decades to the company she works for. Blakely’s life is chaotic, to put it lightly. And then she meets Slade Henderson.

Slade is a sexy as sin cardiothoracic doctor who is nearly 10-years younger than Blakely. But when the two of them meet rmore than once by chance, it seems like fate wants them in each other’s lives.

Blakely needs to attend a retreat for work in the wilderness and Slade offers to come with her as her pretend boyfriend. For some wild reason, Blakely takes him up on his offer—her dating a much younger man could give her brownie points with her boss who thinks she’s too far from trendy. But before long, Blakely’s seemingly simple plan becomes a heck of a lot more complicated.

Flirting with 40 by K Bromberg is a fun rom-com with several tropes I enjoy (older woman/younger man, forced proximity, fake relationship). I loved Slade’s character and how he pushed Blakely to be the best version of herself; I think we all need someone like that in our lives! A fun read that is definitely recommend! 4/5 stars.

Flirting with 40 was a delightful binge read! Once I started reading, I simply could not put it down. Slade is PERFECT in nearly every way. And for those who are flirting with 40 (or looking at 40 in the rear view) will relate to Blakely on many levels.

Adorable, fun, and real, Flirting with 40 delivers an age gap romance with a fake dating spin. Both Blakely and Slade are high achieving professionals who have high expectations of themselves. Blakely's marriage recently ended, she is struggling with her new boss, and she is starting to have crippling self doubt. Honestly, I could relate to Blakely on many levels. Something about hitting 40 sort of reframes your perspective on certain things. I can't imagine how getting a divorce at this same time would further impact those feelings. Oh, and Blakely's ex...yeah he is already engaged to a 20 something woman.

Slade is in his last year of residency, but is currently suspended. He is smart and sexy, but hasn't really been a relationship guy. I loved that Blakely sort of threw him off kilter and made him evaluate his feelings.

Blakely and Slade are the top reasons to read Flirting with 40, but Bromberg delivers so much more. There are some fun scenes that will have you laughing out loud, some scenes that will have you cheering for Blakely as she stands up to her boss, and some emotional scenes that will have you wanting to hug the characters and make things better. Honestly, Flirting with 40 was just incredible in so many ways and I loved so many things.

Cute. Delightful. Funny. FLIRTING WITH 40 was the book I didn't even know that I need it. I loved it so much!

Blakely had a #girlpower hiding inside her ready to be free but her insecurities, specially about her age, were holding her back. And, with baby steps, when she let it all out it was so beautiful and satisfying. It felt like she was my bestie and I was soooo rooting for her.

Slade just became my FAVORITE book boyfriend of 2020. The only sad part is he is not real. I really wish he was. I want someone like him in my life, k. Bromberg! Make him real!

I know I'm supposed to use this space to write a review with my opinion about this book. But I don't think I have enough words to express how much I love it. This book was beyond beautiful, magical, hopeful and romantic.

So I better just tell you that I read this book in one sitting. I stayed up till 3 am even though I had to wake up early to work. It became my favorite even before I finish reading it. And when I actually got to the last page I felt sooooo in love with this beautiful story that I wanted to go back to page one and start it all over again. I highly recommend it!

Fofo. Delicioso.

Recomendo demais!

What a fun age gap read! Blakely was so darn feisty and combative. It made for a really funny sequence of exchanges between her and Slade in the beginning. Their plan to play pretend and cross items off a to-do list was an obvious set up for disaster and I loved every minute of it.

Slade was such a fun loving, genuine and kind man. His back story was sweet and his current professional predicaments proved what a good heart he had. I loved the side of Blakely that he brought out, constantly reminding her of her worth. No matter how down on herself she was, he was always there to life her up and force her to see herself in a different light. And he did it all while being super sexy and overly confident in the most non threatening way. He was the total package!

This book had me laughing from beginning to end. I loved how the book flowed so well. It wasn't overly deep with emotion. The characters were pretty simple with not a lot of drama (aside from Blakely's ex husband). It was an easy, light read that I finished rather quickly.

„It all begins and ends with the heart.”

All the swoons! K. Bromberg delivered such an unexpected and charming story that I can't stop smiling. Flirting With 40 is a book that not only brings a lot of entertainment, but also tells you to take life by the proverbial balls and live it to the fullest. To throw caution to the wind and be spontaneous. To say yes to all the things that you haven't done before. To know your worth and reach for what you want. This book gave me such a boost of confidence that I want to put on my highest heels and set off to conquer the world!

It's all because of the hero! I'm gonna call it a Slade-effect, because holy mother of bookboyfriends! This guy is incredible. Charming, funny, a little bit pushy, but in the way that brings the best out of you. He's a good guy through and through. Generous, supportive, intelligent, fun. He immediately draws attention and his magnetism is so strong that it’s impossible to ignore. He oozes confidence and effortless allure and I swear if I knew him in real life I would eat out of his hand. And chain him to my bed.

Blakely has found herself at a crossroads in her life and she treats her setbacks as a personal failure. It took a toll on her self-esteem and somewhere along the way she lost her real self who desperately needs to be found to achieve her goals. This woman is a walking contradiction - on the one hand, she allows her insecurities to prevail, and in a moment she exudes confidence and sex appeal. Sometimes she's overthinking, and sometimes she's impulsive. Seeing her finding herself again and leaving doubts and inhibitions behind her was extremely motivating! And the new-found sassy and perky Blakely was an admirable person.

I love the fact that the age gap between the characters was barely noticeable. Sure, the metric holds true, but Slade showed such maturity that this difference faded into the background and was not an obstacle in itself. Their friendly banter and unrestrained passion brings to mind that first, exciting love. I just loved how their relationship evolved and how they brought out the best from each other. Their romance was totally heart-melting and swoon-worthy!

K. Bromberg delivered a refreshing and uplifting story that immediately puts a smile on your face. Flirting With 40 is touching, inspiring and addicting! This is the book that will get you out of every funk and give you a new zest for life. Completely unputdownable!
