Living in a lighthouse as a child led me early to a love of reading. Despite what you may have been told the life of a lighthouse keeper's son is not all Glamour and Parties. There's a lot of time when there really isn't much to do besides wonder if the fog horn has finally made you deaf or watch your dad pull fishing lures out of different parts of people's bodies. (You'd be amazed!)

Two of my favorite houses growing up!

description

I read. I read a lot. We had a 'reading caterpillar' around the room at my school where every time you read a book you put your name on your color paper and hung it up. The teacher had to give me two colors because it was looking more like a worm than a caterpillar. I devoured CS Lewis before moving on to Tolkien. Reading has continued to be a big part of my life. I've moved into Alternative Realities by guys like Stirling and my guilty pleasure is Zombie novels. I can't seem to get enough of them!

I like reading about the extremes people will go to to survive. The ones who can rise above the rest and keep their sense of right and wrong. When humanity crumbles around them these flawed heroes stand tall and try to make their way. They go from struggling to pay the phone bill to struggling to keep themselves and others alive. I like to see how this either hardens or breaks them. I think these stories speak at a very primal level. I enjoy the journey greatly as I get to tag along seeing how the survivors manage and how the experience forges them into something more than they were.

I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!

Sincerely,

R S Merritt

Love this series!

This is one of my absolute favourite series, love the characters, the loveable dimwit that every book needs, the military man and his military girlfriend and Lyn, the kick arse vampire that you wouldn't mess with. Can't wait to see where the series ends but hope it's not for a while yet!

Good!

So far, so good! The problems that our protagonists face get bigger and harder. Retaking the Americas isn't a walk in the park!

Very entertaining

Another excellent installment of the story about the real vampires. Chris, Lynn and their friends are trying to clear the Americas of the hordes of infected. They need to save the uninfected and restore the human race. But the ancient vampires of Africa are stating a war with them. Politics! What can you do about it?

Can’t wait for book 6.

Fangtastic! #5 (Sorry)

Armageddon?! So, on seeing the title I was wondering if this was it... And...I wasn't certain for quite a while. This was a very good and fun instalment. So very many blood soaked battles. Multiple Massive Boards of Zombies. And with elite zombie strains AND The Ancients....

It's kept the humour and it's built up over the past chapters. A few gags made me laugh out loud.

I can't recommend these enough. The single worst thing about these books is waiting for the next volume! At least it gives me time to ponder over minutae or if Chris would get on with the lead in the zournal series..... Etc! Roll on 6

imagine this

Chris “ shows” zombies running the other way and en mass they follow… bada bing bada BOoM. Or show the wolves as tasty treats. Also, why are they not claiming the americas as Anpu’s? That may discourage the other elders, oh and renounce the familia as the familia renounced the majority of humanity and condemn those who do not fall in line as they have tried to condemn Anpu.

This one dragged...

Book 5 dragged. It got boring. I am probably not going to read book 6. Maybe after I read something new. Sometimes I think the authors are pressed to get the books out and don't allow themselves to take their time and let the story develop slowly in their mind. As a result the next book is boring.

Exploited Blood: Book 5: Armageddon

Wow! Just Wow!! What an awesome book thus was! The action was so constant that I was on the edge of seat most of the time. I wanted to see Chris involved more by at least at the the end he did good.
