Over 100 years ago, an unspeakable crime was committed on the outskirts of town. When strange, dangerous things continue happening, the residents realize the legend is real.
To make things worse, someone is collecting body parts in jars. Sheriff Kingsley, Tessa and Ian must hunt the killer down.
A cast of characters from the previous books in the series all come together to fight the evil threatening harm to one of their own.
Dawn Merriman lives in northeastern Indiana on a small pig farm with her husband and teenage children. She enjoys animals, auctions, reading, snorkeling and writing small town murder mystery novels. Dawn Merriman completed her first novel in Middle School and a few others in High School and college. She won 1st place in the Northeast Indiana Young Writers short story contest in 1990. After a writing hiatus to raise her children, she published her debut novel, "How Murder Saved My Life" in 2019.
I enjoyed this entire series of books. This last one took a little while to get going but once it caught my full interest it didn't let me go! The jars were just creepy but that is kinda the point, isn't it? I'm so glad I stayed with this series and I think if this is a reader's reading genre of choice they will NOT be disappointed! Now I have to read more of this author's work and hope it's equally as good!
End of the series. What happens to Elyse? And our other favorite characters? Nellie, Aster, Meribeth, Grant, Erin, Tessa, Sherif Kingsley, and the rest. I enjoyed it even though it wrapped up quickly. I was hoping for a bit more of an epilogue. Quick easy read.
There were a few typos here and there. I reported them. I really enjoy reading this author, I can't wait to find out what she has in store for us next.
Well, I’ll never hear The Farmer in the Dell the same way again. Most of the questions were answered even if some things do not make sense. The “fifth” box mentioned at the end makes no sense because the bones being referred to weren’t found in a box. I’m not thrilled with a kind of cliffhanger ending, so I’m just going to pretend it all ended up ok. There were still plenty of typos in the book, so be prepared for that.
I couldn’t have imagined how Dawn Merriman would have been able to bring closure to the many characters in her Maddison, IN series- but WOW!!! She handled it PERFECTLY Looking forward to another book release when the time comes!!! Thank you for writing such a fantastic conclusion ❣️
3.75 stars. This was a busy one. It touched on a lot of the characters we met in the other books. I liked how it all wrapped up, but I would have preferred it to be a little longer so each part of the story could have been explored more. It felt a little like an abridged version. It was still a good read and I would recommend the series.
I know a book was good when I'm sad that not only did I finish it, but there are no more left to read. I do think it's important to read the books in order to understand the characters stories and how each intertwine. Now I need to find another Dawn Merriman book to read. Can't wait!
This book was absolutely amazing!! I love how all of the previous characters returned for this. The story flowed so well, and I couldn’t put it down. Maribeth is still my favorite bad a**!! This series is so GOOD!! It never disappoints.
Dawn Merriman is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read all her books and each one is absolutely fantastic! Her books always make me feel like I’m right there in the story with the characters. I can’t wait to read whatever comes next!
I really enjoyed this series and I really hope this isn't the last book. I love all the characters and how they and everything comes together throughout each book. Dawn Merriman is now my favorite author!!
The final installment of the Maddison, Indiana Supernatural Thriller series, Jars of Things by Dawn Merriman, doesn't tie up everything in a neat little bow. Instead, it provides consistent shivers up the spine as the dark presence spreads over (under?) the city and its surroundings. No one is immune from its influence. No one can predict what will happen next.
Another fantastic novel by Dawn Merriman and a brilliant conclusion to the series.
