Lady Josephine Powell was nineteen and not always in the best of health. And now, instead of a new ball gown and an exciting London come-out, she had doctor's orders to take the waters at a provincial spa. She never dreamed that an accident en route would tumble her into the strong arms of her rescuer, Devon Roth, earl of Ravenaugh.

I read all the "Noble" books in this series about the Powell family, and this was one of my favorites. In fact, I read it first and then searched out the others. If I had started with book 1, I might have abandoned the stories.
The characters are a bit from the mainstream romance genre. She is a gentlewoman, but Josephine is frail and sickly, whereas Ravenaugh is old enough to be her father. Yet, their story is perfect.
