One of the best books I’ve read this year! The Christmas Quilt is like a patch work of emotions. There’s a little bit of almost everything in this story. Humor, tears, feelings of betrayal and romance. The story takes place as the Christmas season approaches and on into Christmas week. I loved the characters but a few of them made me want to give them a piece of my mind! As I was drawn into the story I could actually feel Colette’s feeling of betrayal as her story unfolded. This book had me reading on into the wee hours of the morning. Definitely the best book in the Shadow Lake series! Not sure if this series is to continue but hopefully we haven’t heard the last of the King Family and the Shadow Lake Inn.
Colette’s sister, Eliza and her fiancé are getting married and Colette regrets that her boyfriend won’t be attending the wedding. Lately Colette hasn’t heard much from Matthew but she is totally heart broken when he appears at the wedding reception with another beautiful woman on his arm. I highly recommend this book to readers of Amish Romance and fans of Lenora Worth. The Christmas Quilt is the third book of the Shadow Lake Series. This book could be read as a stand alone but characters have been carried over from the first two books of the series. This book is scheduled to be released on 8/22/23.

This book started off with a bang and kept the pages turning for me. This is the story of the third Amish sister of the Shadow Lake series, that of Colette and Matthew. The two have known each other all their lives and are just now finding themselves in love and planning to marry. But Mattie is called out of state to help his uncle. The day of Colette's sister's wedding, Mattie returns but a young woman is hanging onto him. What is the world is going on? It only gets worse as information unravels and it appears that Mattie may need to move to Missouri. This story just kept going up and down with frustration, angst, secrets, worry, danger, and mystery tempered with love and faith that Gott's (God's) will be done. Highly recommended for Amish stories sprinkled with light mystery.

I received a free copy of, The Christmas Quilt by Lenora Worth, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book three of The Shadow Lake Series books. I have read a lot of Lenora Worth's book, I love the clean romance books she writes. Colette realizes she is in love with her friend Matthew, but when Matthew returns home it is with another women. To help relax herself she decides to make a quilt about Matthew. This was a pleasurable read. Colette is a great character I really reading about her through her journey.

While Matthew was away helping on his Uncles farm his best friend Collette realizes that she is in love with him. But when Matthew returns he has a woman with him who says that she is to marry him. Matthew uncle died and left him everything including his ward who he wanted Matthew to marry. Matthew wants Collette. How can he settle this dilemma? Good story

The Christmas Quilt is the third book in the Amish, romantic suspense Shadow Lake trilogy. Each book stars one of the King sisters. This is the youngest sister, Colette's story. Colette has been walking out with Matthew Mueller with the understanding that they were to be married, although their engagement was never publicly announced. Matthew's Uncle Saul who lived in Missouri, was ill and asked for him to come and help him. Saul is very wealthy and has a ward, Shelah, who he wants Matthew to marry. When Saul dies, Mattie is terribly confused and heads home to talk to his family. Shelah hops on the bus even though he doesn't want her to come. Mattie shows up at Collette's sister's wedding where Shelah proudly announces that she is his fiancé. It is obvious that Mattie doesn't love Shelah, and she doesn't seem to love him either. What is really going on?
This is the third book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone story. I would recommend you read them in order if you plan on reading the series though as each book will spoil the one before it. The Christmas Quilt is an enjoyable and engaging story, with surprises, twists and intrigue. I was invested in the story from the beginning and read it whenever I could and staying up late to finish it. I really liked the characters, both Mattie's family and Collette's were loving, faithful and helpful. They were great listeners, but let them sort out things for themselves as long as it followed their beliefs. I could never had been as calm and forgiving as Collette was at first. When she didn't know what was going on, she tried to help Mattie and Shelah, as well as forgive him. Mattie did frustrate me at times. I know he was trying to protect everyone, but if he had told his parents what was happening, maybe things would have been different. This was a good romantic suspense story, and I liked how Lenora Worth kept the Amish culture and simple life while keeping us on the edge of our seats. I read this as part of Christmas in July. I enjoyed the simple traditions around the Christmas season, and of course the scholars' performance is a highlight of the Amish Community. If you enjoy Amish fiction, romantic suspense and a happily ever after, you should pick this book up.

She is happy for her sister but is having questions about Matthew Mueller who has been away for several months helping his uncle. Having planned to marry, recent contact with Mattie ended with a strange argument while on a phone call. She worries he won't be home for the wedding. When he walks in with a pretty female stranger grasping his arm Collette is heartbroken. Anger sets in when the woman declares that she and Matthew are to be married.
There are a lot of twists and turns in this suspenseful story. It is an excellent follow-up third book in The Shadow Lake Series by one of my favorite authors, Lenora Worth. To follow the series theme, Collette works on a quilt honoring her relationship with Mattie.
Devastating secrets, a large inheritance, past sins with dire consequences and heartache are part of the fast-moving plot. The need for honesty, openness and forgiveness are a serious message here.

The Christmas Quilt by Lenora Worth takes us back to Shadow Lake for Collette King and Matthew Mueller’s story. I thought the story was well-written with developed characters. The story opens with a jaw dropper. It will have you flipping the pages to find out what happens next. I enjoyed catching up with the King family. I like how Collete was encouraged to make a quilt that showcases her journey with Matthew. The vivid descriptions allowed me to envision this special quilt. The story does touch on a disturbing topic that will distress some readers (like me). I wish there had been a warning included under the blurb. I did feel that the author handled the topic sensitively. The Christmas Quilt is an emotional novel. I felt bad for Collette who went through a range of feelings. No one ever said the path to happiness was a smooth one, which is what Collette and Matthew are going to discover. I was frustrated by Matthew at times. I understand that he was trying to protect those he loved. But if he had been open with parents, it would have made a difference (of course, then it would have been a different story). I enjoyed learning about Amish Christmas traditions. They do things simply, but it is still special. I like how faith is woven into the story. I am amazed how they can forgive someone who has wronged them. The Christmas Quilt is the third book in The Shadow Lake Series. It can be read as a standalone for those who are new to the series. I hope we will return to Shadow Lake again in the future. The Christmas Quilt is an expressive story with a startling surprise, an unanticipated inheritance, a shocking secret, a unique quilt, and a cozy Christmas.

The Christmas Quilt is the third book in the Shadow Lake series. In this story, Collette, the youngest King sister, finally realizes that she truly is in love with her long-time friend Matthew. The problem is that when Matthew returns home after helping his uncle who recently passed away, he is joined by his uncle’s ward who announces that she and Matthew are engaged. After several unexpected things happen, Collette enlists the help of her sisters and their husbands to get the full story of Mattie’s new fiancé.
This story is very entertaining and engaging with lots of surprises and intrigue. I basically read the entire book on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. I haven’t read many Amish mystery stories in the past, and although I was a bit concerned that it would take away from the simplicity of the Amish lifestyle, it didn’t. The characters were likable and interesting, and it was great to read more about the other King sisters and get a glimpse into how their lives have progressed.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian fiction or Amish stories. And if you haven’t already, you will definitely want to read the previous books in the Shadow Lake series.

A secret that involved family, a secret that never has been told. A truth that needed to be told.
An enjoyable series of sisters that turned to quilt making to see the love of their life in a different way. To look away from the circumstances and to see God's hand in their troubles. It is the case for Colette King and Matthew Mueller. Matthew has been called away to help an uncle he does not know. Before he left, he and Colette had taken their friendship to another level. However, the distance and time seemed to have cooled Matthew off that he upon his arrival he has a brought a young woman home with him. He tries to explain to Colette but hurt, pride, and misunderstanding (that I do not blame her) keeps her from trusting him. Matthew can only reveal so much to protect the ones he love including Colette. Upon Colette's mother's suggestion, she makes a quilt of their life together has friends, co-workers and the possibility of having a life together.
There were a few twists and turns in this romance full of misunderstanding and grief, however, it is during these times that our character reveals itself. Both Colette and Matthew discover faith in a whole new light. Such has it is when it comes to the issues of the heart.

Amish woman Collette King is looking forward to welcoming Matthew Mueller back to Shadow Lake, a historic inn located near Lake Erie, Pennsylvania. It is being run by Collette and her sisters. She hasn't seen him in some time, and she knows in her heart when he returns it is time to let him know exactly how she feels about him. She eagerly anticipates the moment when he returns, and then he does. Her expectations fall to her feet when he shows up with another woman, a beautiful one, on his arm. Not wanting to speak to him, he convinces her to anyways. This woman is going around telling anyone who will listen and even some who won't, Matthew is her intended and the wedding is upcoming. Matthew made a promise to his late uncle when he was on his deathbed that he would marry this woman and he feel obligated to keep this promise though Collette is his true love. Collette has always enjoyed sewing, it clears her mind and relaxes her. As she makes a Christmas quilt honoring Matthew, she just thinks of him more. I did not like the "other woman." Her attitude is terrible. How could she treat Matthew this way? Will Collette's heart stay broken, or will the holiday season ring in with a new true love? I enjoyed reading books by this author and this was a fun read.

Thank you Kensington Books, Zebra for allowing me to read Lenora Worth‘s new book, The Christmas Quilt, which is third book in the Shadow Lake inspirational romance series.
I have read all the other inspiring books in this series and this one does not disappoint. This book is definitely a page turner. There was one surprise after another. You will not be able to figure out how Matthew and Collette's story will ever workout. The plot and storyline were well thought out and well written. This is a book that any Amish fiction lover will enjoy.
The characters are so well developed that you begin to believe they are part of your personal family or really close friends. There are characters you love and then there are those you don’t like so much. I really think Shelah was let off the hook too easily. Nevertheless, she was shown forgiveness.
Ms. Worth has an excellent way of showing how faith in God can bring you through tough situations.
I really think you will enjoy this 5-star read.

I look forward to binge reading Christmas books all year. Amish themed books are especially wonderful because you can always count on them having the true meaning of Christmas included in the story. I eagerly picked up The Christmas Quilt because it fit that description and because the author is one that I particularly enjoy.
The Christmas Quilt is actually book three in the series. Somehow I missed books one and two. Even with that in mind I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the story. There is of course a love interest but it has gone astray. There is also a bit of a mystery going on that only adds an extra bit of spice to the plot.
I would of course recommend this as a Christmas season read but I also think it would be enjoyable throughout the winter season. It's like a cozy mystery because you know it won't have anything controversial in it. Well let me rephrase that. The mystery involves a serious crime that is committed multiple times. But it is handled in a tasteful manner and in the end all is set right.
If you enjoy Amish fiction I highly recommend this one!

This is the third book in this series, and as with the others, one of the sisters is urged to make a quilt that represents her relationship with the man of her dreams.
This is King sister Colette's story and her long time admirer Mathew Muller, as the book opens Colette thinks she and Maddie are engaged, but then he arrives with a young Amish woman on his arm, you are in for a page turner to find answers.
This read does have some disturbing things in it, but the author does a great job with this sensitive topic, and it does lead to an opening of old wounds, and hopefully to some healing.
There is also a deathbed promise, along with danger from a disturbed individual, but I was quickly page turning, and obstacles are thrown in the path of these people!
In the end I enjoyed this read, and wished there were more sisters to follow!

The Christmas Quilt is a great mix of romance and intrigue. It kept me turning pages with one surprise after another which included a sensitive topic which the author handled flawlessly. I was drawn into the characters and taken through a myriad of emotions as I felt all that they were feeling. It kept me wondering how Matthew and Collette's story would turn out, especially with Shelah in the mix. While she was not my favorite character, I found myself trying to figure out what made her tick. Finding the answer to that one brought yet another surprise which resulted in an interesting turn of events. This blend of romance, twists and turns, perseverance, trust and intrigue resulted in a fantastic story that is sure to be enjoyed by all who read it.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it's a five star. Colette King can't wait for the return of her life long friend, the boy who gave her, her first kiss, the one she wants to marry, Matthew Mueller. When he shows up at her sisters wedding with a new girl, Shelah on his arm. Colette is devastated. At every turn, a very spoiled Shelah makes it known that her and Matthew will marry. Maggie her sister encourages her to start a memory quilt of all the wonderful times she had with Matthew but it only makes her heart hurt more.
In the many twists of the story a secret is kept about Matthew and a death bed promise to his uncle. Wow, this book kept me up reading all night! I will now put this author on the must read list and go back and read the begining of the Shadow Lake series.

This is Worth's third book in the Shadow Lake Inn series., and it focuses on Colleette King,, the youngest of the three King sisters. When Collette's former fiance, Mattie returns from MO to attend her sister Eliza's wedding with another lady on his arm, Collete's jealousy starts to rise. Who is this new woman, and will Collette and Mattie ever get to live the life together that they've always dreamed of? Hold on tight, because this Amish novel has some surprising twists and turns in it.
I really enjoyed this story with its emphasis on love and forgiveness. I think it would be best to read these three novels in order so you get the full story.

It’s Christmas in August!
I think this is my favorite book in The Shadow Lake series. It can be read as a stand alone but the books are so good that you will want to read them all.
Collette can’t wait to see her boyfriend again! But he comes back with a new fiancee and a big secret. Colette tries to work through the situation by making a quilt to express her feelings.
This book kept me awake longer than I should have allowed but you just don’t want to stop reading. I won't give away the ending but it is everything I had hoped for tied up with a bow. This is the 3rd book about the King Sisters. I have not read the previous two books. This book can stand alone.

Collette King has eagerly awaited Matthew Mueller return from caring for his uncle. While he was away, Collette realized she wanted to spend the future with Mattie. However, things take a turn when Mattie returns and attends her sister's wedding with another woman on his arm. What is happening? Why? To help heal, Collette begins a quilt to honor her memories of Mattie but with each square, she finds herself falling even further in love. Can Mattie clear the air before it is too late?

This is the type of book that once you start reading it you just can't put it down. Collette and Matthew were supposed to be getting married but he went to help his Uncle. Once Matthew returns to the Inn things start getting really good.
I like how all of Collette's family sticks behind her to make sure that she is ok with all that she is going through but they are also willing to still be polite to Matthew even though he is breaking their daughter's heart.
If you are interested in reading a great book then check this one out. I highly recommend it.

Colette King is eager for the return of Matthew Mueller since she is expecting a proposal from him. Unfortunately, when he arrives at her sister's wedding he has another woman on his arm. Even worse, his uncle requested that he marry this woman while he was on his deathbed. It will take a Christmas miracle to resolve the situation.
I enjoyed getting to know Colette and Matthew as well as all the secondary characters. The story drew me in and had me wondering how the situation would turn out. I also enjoyed the Christmas theme with all its Christmas activities woven into the story.

I absolutely loved the first 2 books in this series. This one, not so much. The indecision of Colette and Matthew was like watching a tennis match. They were very insecure about their love for each other and showed them as immature. They were way too emotionally immature to begin to make rational decisions. The story line of the quilt was almost forgotten and certainly not as well developed as in the other books. Quite a letdown for me.

The Christmas Quilt by Lenora Worth is a suspenseful, Amish romance. Being the third book in the series, a great resolution is expected and delivered.
There are many twists in the story that kept me on my toes, shedding a few tears along the way. Be prepared for this page-turner.

Great read!
Beware! This is an awesome page turner. You read it to figure out why this is happening and something else comes up that you can’t figure out. It is not your average Amish novel, it is an exciting why, who did it, and why story that will keep you turning pages. I loved it!

The Christmas quilt like no other
This book was amazing probably one of the best. It was filled with surprises, anxiousness, love, anger, fear, and extremely well written. I especially enjoyed remembering former people in stories before this and what they were doing and Jonah especially came alive. Hopefully there will be a book number for someday. This book was good. A little slow at the beginning and a little dramatic at the end compared to the rest of the book.
