at the start of this book there was a on page complete sex scene with OW! and the worst of it is also the fact that there was no mention of condom 🙄🤮
then the MCC meet and i wasn't feeling it at all, zero build up whatsoever.
This plot is not good at all.

This was the train wreck that, for the life of me, I could not look away from. So I can say that at least this book had my attention and I finished it. Quickly too as I just started it yesterday, but man were there a multitude of issues.

On a whole, the book felt rushed and disjointed. There was a severe lack of editing. Maybe one of the worst I've come across in the year and a half since I've started my reading and reviewing journey. Words were missing, the wrong words were used, grammatical errors like not using the correct punctuation were frequent (quotations marks for dialogue and question marks most notably), incomplete sentences, and there was one occasion where the same sentence was printed twice in a row with one word being changed between the two. I just could not believe it was published in this state.

The story was engaging and moved at a very fast pace. Almost too fast. There were times when I felt like I had maybe skipped a page or questioned myself if information had went right over my head because the story felt like I had missed parts of it. Too quickly were the MMC, Zander, and FMC, Leona, speaking to each other like they knew one another so well. And feelings developed between the two of them so rapidly without there being any content to explain as to how or why they had grown so close. There were no moments of "bonding" to build the kind of relationship that they all of a sudden had. Given the time spans referenced in this book, the whole thing takes place MAYBE over two weeks and that's being mighty generous with that estimated time frame.

There were also so many instances of unrealistic behavior and responses to situations. After knowing each other for only a few days, Zander almost beats Leona's best friend to death and literally pulls a knife on him to actually kill him, but Leona gets over the whole ordeal after another few days because she wanted him to "care" about her. And it's ok because she wanted him to be a little jealous, but withheld the information that her friend is gay so he didn't need to be worried about him in the first place. They talk it out and decided they're going to be completely honest with each other afterwards. It's just not realistic in the least bit. Not to mention when Leona is drugged and kidnapped by the the actual villain of the story, Matthew, Zander frees her from being tied to a bed in a basement and, after they beat Matthew up together of course, he basically asks her if Matthew had assaulted her and she basically says, "No, he was too busy fumbling with his camera to have time to do that before you got here." And Zander responds, "What a loser!" Really? Is he, though? Is he really a loser because he wasted time messing with his camera instead of raping your girlfriend right away? I couldn't help but cringe during a lot of the character interaction throughout the book. Don't get me wrong, I think the author had a good premise for the story. I just don't necessarily like the way it was approached. The author has promise, for sure, but would truly benefit from taking a little more time when crafting her story and not being afraid to dive a little deeper and truly fleshing it out. Oh and for the love of all things holy, I hope she NEVER uses the editor she had for this particular book again because they just did her and her story dirty.

Crave you is the first book I’ve read by Teresa Wolf and I’m hooked! You better believe I’ll be reading her other works. The variety! I love a good dark romance, and Crave You was so good! It feels like a long time since I’ve read a true dark college romance with an unhinged MMC. This hit that spot that was brewing inside me after reading so many contemporary romances back to back. I need a little darkness in my life. Or a lot.

Spice level (1-5): 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Leona is a late admission student at Warwick University. Right off the bat she catches the attention of Zander, the campus unhinged bad boy. Zander has a reputation and Leona is warned to stay away from him if she wants to protect her heart. She is not looking for drama or to be a guy’s conquests of the week. But the darkness in her craves him and it seems he feels the exact same way.

I would recommend Crave You to anyone who loves unhinged sociopathic MMCs. If you enjoy dark college romances, bad@ss FMC, any of the —paths, novellas, jealous possessive dominant MMC, don’t touch what’s mine or I’ll muck you up, insta lust, steamy spice, v!rgin h, etc. you’ll love Crave You. Zander just gave me Ryat vibes. Need I say more? No triggers that I picked up on. This book does contain violence and unhinged controlling behavior. For readers of dark academia romances this one is for you!

Warning: Reading Crave You may make you rethink going to college. May make you remember real life sociopaths are not fun. May make you not want to join a sorority. May make you want to go back to college to see what deranged hottie you can bag. May make you make bad love decisions. May make you want to go to college frat parties. Read responsibly.

I give this story 3.5 stars

If you love a darker romance where the spice starts right from page one, then this is certainly a story that you should consider.

Leona is finally starting college and is worried that because she is starting late, she is going to have a hard time trying to fit in with people who already have a semester under their belts. What better way to find your footing and create friends then participating in the challenge to join Valens House, a series of 3 tests to determine the admission to the coveted "frat" on campus. What she didn't expect was to catch the eye of Zander, the leader of Valens.

Zander has always had a dark side. He takes what he wants and asserts his dominance wherever he goes. He was not expecting Leona to get under his skin and challenge him like she has and make him question everything he has kept closed off in his heart. After her showing at the challenge to get into the house, he is intrigued by her and knows he wants her- he just isn't fully ready to accept just how deep his feelings for Leona may be and accept that he may want something more than what he is used to.

This was a fun read. I loved the back and forth between Zander and Leona and the chemistry was certainly there. I am not afraid of anything dark so I have no trigger warnings, but I will say there are some situations that our MC's find themselves in that may be triggering to some so check before you read. My only wish is that this was longer and fleshed out a bit. There was some tension with another house on campus that puts one of our MC's in danger that I felt could have been fleshed out a bit to make the story a bit more rounded. Our MC's also go through some hard times and misunderstandings that I felt were a bit downplayed and not really drawn out as much which I felt sort of threw the story off a bit. Otherwise, this is a great quick read that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️/5

This is the eleventh novella in the Dark Tales series, and can be read as a standalone. Again, this is a fast-paced read; a low time commitment novella you can easily finish in one sitting. This storyline follows Zander (MMC) and Leona (FMC).

At the beginning of the novella, I was hooked as there is action and intrigue surrounding both MCs, and I love a good dark college romance with an unhinged MMC. But, I felt that each character ended up lacking some depth. We never truly get to find out why Leona needs a fresh start from her previous school and what makes her tic, and there was a little too much information on side characters when the dynamic between Zander and Leona could have been flushed out more. I could have totally overlooked these things and would have given a higher rating, BUT the downfall for me was when Leona “trusts” Tilly and “wants to push Zander,” so she goes to his rival’s house without telling anyone. For me, that interaction, the inner thought process of Leona, and follow-through was so unbelievable and felt like a wildly immature and stupid decision that the character wouldn’t have made. I’m glad things ended up working out in the end, but the storyline could have taken a slightly different route and more time could have been devoted to developing depth for the MCs.

Zander is closer to being a villain. The kind who would light the world on fire and watch it burn just to ensure I was okay. The kind who would never give me up, who would do just about anything for me.

Crave You
A Dark College Romance
Dark Tales
Book 11
By Teresa Wolf

172 pages
Currently on KU in the USA.
Publication date March 23, 2023

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my honest review. Please, watch out for possible spoilers, including but not limited to, TW/CN/Etc.

Possible TW, Tropes, and Genres
Mature, Novella, Spicy, Dark Romance, College Romance, New Adult, Standalone, V Card, Jealous MMC, Possessive MMC, Unhinged MMC, Violence, Kidnapping, Touch Her and Die, Burn the World for Her, Happy For Now, Alphahole, CNC, Torture, Gore

This was a quick read, has some nice spice in it, and has an interesting plot. The MMC is a alphahole who is a bit of a psychopath until he meets the FMC, then his psycho and her psycho just work together.

I do kinda wish that we would of gotten more out of the back and forth between the Valen house and the Mathews house. Even the ending would of been nicer for it to take a bit longer, to get to the point of saving who needs saved.

I liked the FMC and the MMC, I hated Tilly from the moment she was on the page, and was thankful for every moment she was not on the page.

If you like faster paced dark college romances, then I would suggest giving this a read.

“I crave her as the moon craves the night.”

Zander Morell is king of Valen’s House at Warwick University. He’s unhinged, jealous, possessive, and violent. He craves power. Zander is unattached but enjoys the floozies that throw themselves at his feet. It isn’t until Leona Marshall arrives that he realizes he may actually be capable of love. Leona may be inexperienced in the bedroom, but she’s a confident and fierce heroine. She’s beautiful, clever, and cunning. Zander doesn’t intimidate Leona and the chase begins.

I love when the cold heartless villain starts to thaw and soften toward the heroine. I can pinpoint the exact moments when Leona started to break through all of Zander’s walls without even trying. They both felt their strong connection and I was rooting for Leona to not give in too quickly. I definitely wanted Zander to work for it! This is a novella length book but could have easily been written into a full-length story. The back-and-forth between the couple was great and the spice was excellent. Such a great read!

Tropes: Contemporary romance, college romance, dark romance, virgin heroine, dub-con, villain gets the girl, bullying, happily-ever-after
Heat: 3/5.

Let me start by saying that this book is a quick read. I went into it knowing that I would have it read within a couple of hours. But it being short did not keep it from being packed with my kryptonite. I am an absolute sucker for the push and pull tension when the FMC does not just give in to the MMC from the get go. Zander is shocked and insulted that the beautiful Leona does not return his interest. He's the school's rich, bad boy and when he's says come (See what I did there?), you come. Leona is fesity and sure of herself, while still not being totally immune to her desire for Zander. The story starts with Leona coming to a new college in the middle of the semester and is immediately thrust in front of the gloriously bad Zander. Their connection is instant, but Leona makes him work for ittttt. *fans self*

I loved the story and thought that there was a lot packed into this story without it feeling too rushed or overy detailed in areas that took away from the progress of the book. This is without a doubt a dark romance and has some material that may not be for everyone. Please check the trigger warnings. Zander is not a golden retriever, but something that lurks in the dark corner of your bedroom where the light doesn't reach.

I feel Teresa Wolf has outdone herself this time with Crave You. I have enjoyed reading all of her books, but this one just grabbed ahold of me and kept me craving to turn the pages. I loved this book so much that I read it in one sitting and could not put it down. The plot was original with characters who were interesting and made it impossible not to root for them to find their happily ever after together.

Zander is an alpha male through and through. He is not the type of guy to make a commitment to one lady nor is he interested in seeing a girl beyond the one night he spends with them. There is a darkness that lingers within him. Zander enjoys causing pain in others and showing his dominance in breaking them. He demands surrender and will do whatever it takes to succeed. That is until he meets Leona. She is a very strong minded independent woman who can take care of herself. Zander has found his match in her and there is no stopping him now. There is a darkness in Leona that longs to be dominated by Zander and it speaks to his soul...things are about to change and nothing will ever be the same again.

This is book eleven in this standalone series. It features Leona who is starting at a new college in the middle of the term. She is afraid she won’t fit in. But she lucks out with her housemates. The embrace her and put her at ease. Her first day coincides with rush week. And she signs up to compete at the Valens house. She passes all three tests bu declines to join their house. She has caught the eye of Zander, one of the leaders at Valens house. He is not quite sure what to think of this girl who is smart, athletic and gorgeous. But she doesn’t fall all over him like most girls. But their attraction is electric. And they soon develop a relationship. But Zander doesn’t know how to deal with any emotions except anger. Their story is full of angst and passion. And their communication skills are typical for their age. Can Zander back down and talk things out? Can Leona learn to trust him? And when Leona is in danger will Zander be there for her? I love Teresa Wolf’s “Dark Tales.” They are fast paced and her characters are fully formed. I can’t help but love them. I did receive an advance copy for my honest review.

I've read all of Teresa Wolf's books and this is one of my favorites. I think maybe because the setting for this book is at a college and that is different from her other books. Zander is a morally gray antihero. Zander is angry, dominant, posessive, and until he meets Leona he was a womanizer. Leona is small but mighty fierce and independent. Leona is also a virgin heroine in this book. Leona doesn't really want anything to do with crazy Zander. How well do you think that's going to go over with a posessive antihero such as Zander? Correct. That makes Zander want Leona that much more. Zander also brings out a darker side to Leona sexually that Leona definitely doesn't complain about. There is another storyline going on about conflict between the houses or fraternities. This causes some major problems at the end of the book. Leona and Zander both change throughout the book. Throw in girls are always trying to steal Zander there's plenty of drama.

Ok so before I start I should say that I don’t usually like to read college age main characters because I’m old enough to be their mum lol however I pretty much love everything Teresa writes so here we are.
I loved it! There’s not actually that much reference to their ages etc after the first few chapters which set the plot so I really liked that. It was as though they were just adults and age wasn’t a factor. If I’m honest I was expecting a little more darkness in the steam between Zander and Leona because of how they are described but after their first time together it’s not really a part of the story. Saying that I wish the book was a bit longer because I was enjoying the drama side of it and it could have gone into so much more detail and had more of a conflict between Zander and Matthew. Really good book just wanted it to be longer so I could enjoy it more. All Teresa’s fault for writing books I like too much.
Looking forward to the next book.

Villan gets the girl!!!!

I love fairytales not for the clean noble prince but for the villan. Zander is the villan. Leona went to Warrick late in the semester and was met by a pretty good welcome committee, Erin & Laurel. However no matter how great the welcome committee is, there is always the one your should stay away from...enter Zander.

Throughout the entire book i have wondered what makes Zander that way he is. He isnt sociopath or a psychopath cause he has formed some serious bonds however a woman hurt him cause of his desires and he decided never to let that happen again until Leona.

Leona and Zander are what most couples aspire to be - open, honest, loving and sexually consuming....of and Christian is cool cause I don't know any friend that would be that forgiving.

But as always,Teresa Wolf's books make me feel good about wanting the villan moreso than the good and noble prince.

Crave You is an inky dark, college romance. The MMC is a sociopath and scary AF. If you're a fan of jealous, possessive, violent, unhinged men, then I introduce you to Zander Morell. WHEW!

Leona is seriously naïve when she arrives at Warwick U and hasn't a clue what she's in for. Thankfully she's a feisty woman, otherwise I would have had to give some serious side-eye to her character. Unfortunately, Zander has set his sights on her and nothing is going to change that. Especially when Leona doesn't fall at his feet like every other female on campus does. *loud snorting giggles*

Even though Crave You is a shorty, at only 172 pages, it certainly didn't FEEL like one. I felt like the story was well fleshed out and finished, but I wouldn't be mad about more of this world!

Author Teresa Wolf consistently entertains her readers with her dark romance tales and this is yet another winner!
Great characters created as in Zander and Leona and I think considering the length of the story ( which was relatively short) summed them up quite well, although I had hoped to see Leona use her boxing prowess a little more.
Even though this book title is stated as the eleventh in the Dark Tales series it is very much a standalone story. I found the plot well constructed and succinct and perhaps quite violent for what is college life. I do also suggest to readers to be aware that it does contain triggers of violent behaviour which could be offensive to some people. But the hidden gem is how two people can find their sense of peace with one another and find their HEA.

Teresa Wolf does it again!! This series just gets better and better. I couldn't put this book down. Can't wait to see what Teresa comes out with next.

Leona moves to a new place and new college to start a new life where nobody knows who she is or what she's done. Leona is a fiery vixen who knows how to hold her own. Things seem to be going great until she comes face to face with Zander, residential bad boy King of the campus. Zander is dark and twisted, some could even say a tad psychotic but only towards those that deserve it. Leona craves the her that Zander pulls out of her and Zander craves what Leona is hiding inside. Will they survive or tear each other apart?.

Dark College Romance
For years Zander has been told that emotions make you weak and drag you down, so he has learn how to not feel them. In fact he loves to inflict pain. He loves to feel the power it offers. He loves to hurt the deserving. Much to his surprise when he lays eyes on Leona at Derby Days she interests as no other girl has. Leona does date because she is not interested in the movie-promised and party foreplay that is promised by vanilla college boys. She wants something darker and more dangerous. She sees it in Zander ever when everyone warns her against him. This is a short riveting read with steamy romance, drama, violence and suspense inter-laced throughout.

This is the 11th book in the Dark Tales series featuring the spicy dark bully romance between Zander and Leona. Zander is considered to be a sociopath by some people in his fraternity since he seems to like hurting people and he's rude no manners at all. When he meets Leona he knows that she's not like the other girl's but Leona doesn't want anything to do with him. This causes him to want her even more he's very possessive over her drawing out a darker side of her that she never knew she had until him. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this spicy dark bully romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

The book had a good idea going in. Boy meets girl, develops obsession, they fall in love, face harrowing circumstances,HEA. But it didn't flow. I didnt feel a connection between the main characters. It felt stiff and forced.
There was nothing that drew you into either character. He wasn't able to express feelings but we never knew why. Leona had no depth or personality outside of her interactions with Zander. Even the event that was supposed to be dramatic had no actual excitement to it. It just didn't pull me in or keep my interest.

College AntiHero

This was a good dark romance set in college. One of the things that was different in this story was the female lead character had some backbone. It was refreshing and added some good flare to the interactions between the two lead characters.

Zander is used to getting what he wants and he’s ruthless enough to take it all. He wants Leona but she’s not going to make it easy.

Overall, this is a good dark romance with a young adult influence since the characters are set in college. Dark and entertaining with some heat!

Crave You was intense, un-put-downable, and so very, very thrilling to read!
Zander is a young man with anger issues, and a group of friends that are powerful and feared. Leona, new to the school, is warned from catching Zander's attention, but it is already too late. He has set his eyes on her and he intends to conquer.
This is not your typical boy meets girl, falls in love, and they live happy ever after. This couple has many issues to wade through, and struggle they do!
Well written with characters you either love or dislike, but always entertaining!

love Leona and Zander dynamic

Leona comes to a new college and meets Erin her new roommate. They become quick friends and go to a party. Leona meets Zander who is not a good guy but is a sexy man. Erin warns her away from him but the chemistry between is explosive. They seem to understand each other darker needs. But Zander is possessive and Leona is independent. Can they find a way to be together? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. Love Leona and Zander great supporting characters. Check trigger warnings very dark spicy book.

Dark Tales is a great series and this is the eleventh book out of it. The story of two opposites meeting each other. I enjoyed the chemistry and attraction between Zander and Leona. She's a tough girl and Zander reminded me of an attractive psychopath. You wonder what they actually have in common and you think things can't work out between them. To find out which direction they are going I won't give away I can only say go and read their story yourself is very worthwhile.

Crave You is book 11 in the Dark Tales series. You do not have to read them in any particular order but I do recommend you read them if you enjoy quick dark reads without any unnecessary filler. One of the things I like the most about Teresa Wolf novellas is that she gets right into it, these books can be read in one sitting, they are quick and satisfying.

I really like Leona and how she pushes back against Zander because no one else does. She doesn't bore him because she keeps him on his toes, he needs to work for it a little bit and I like that.

Zander runs Valens House a fraternity of mostly men that a little aggressive to others. Leona is new to this college. She joins a different house but competes to join Valens House. She outsmarted Zander in one of the events. Zander is intrigued by her. Everyone is warning Leona away from Zander but she can’t stay from him nor does she want to. This is a dark story because these two characters are a little off in terms of pain. I wished this story was longer to explain how they got this way. It was a very interesting story about two dark twisted characters.

This is a dark college romance. Zander can have anything he wants and he always gets what he wants. Then a new girl shows up on campus and he wants her. The thing is Leona wants nothing to do with Zander. She is a tough, independent though a touch strange young woman. She plays and beats Zander at his own game. Zander realizes that he likes the fact that Leona plays by her own rules. Must read to see if Zander gets Leona in the end or does Leona win the game.

Zander, head of the Valen’s House at Warwick University and overall big man on campus, can have anyone he wants. But when a new girl shows up, he wants her. Leona is trying to fly under the radar and has no desire to get involved with with Zander. But Zander is determined to have her. This book has sizzle, steam, twists, turns, and some surprises. Well developed characters, great paced story, this is a 4 star read.

Zander is definitely a chocolate cake with a serious hit of chilli, he is definitely NOT a cinnamon roll hero! As with most dark romance heroes he is possessive, obsessive, alpha and Dominant.
Unlike most dark romance heroines Leona has her own brand of bite, she’s no pushover. She shares some predilections with Zander making them a perfect dark pairing.
An absorbing short story with great characters plenty of action, chemistry and steam with a HEA.
