If there’s anything I know for sure, it’s The world is full of saviors.
People who want to save you from the world. From your life. From yourself. And here’s something else I know—saviors are dangerous.
Because they claim to care—to love you even—until it gets hard.
Because they make promises they never intend to keep.
Because the person they’re really trying to save isn’t you.
It’s themselves.
Because they’re liars.
Weak, selfish liars.
Every. Single. One of them.
No one in this world is worth saving—least of all me.
I believed that to my core.
Until I met Ophelia.
I was seventeen and she was too young.
Too young to protect me.
Too trapped to save me.
But she tried anyway.
She tried, even though she knew that saving me would mean destroying herself.
And knowing the price she paid for me killed me—kept killing me, every time I thought about it.
So I stopped thinking about it.
I stopped thinking about her. Stopped wondering what happened to her. Where she was. If she survived…
I never thought I’d see her again.
But then I did.
Suddenly, she’s right in front of me—marked as another man’s property but it doesn’t matter. None of it matters because Ophelia needs a savior—a real savior—and this time, it’s going to be me who’s doing the saving.

USA Today best-selling author Megyn Ward lives on coffee, chocolate and more than the occasional glass of red wine. When she's not spending time with the hot, dirty-talking Alphas and the strong, capable women who love them who live in her head, she's busy chasing chickens (and kids), hanging laundry and burning dinner. Either way, she is almost always in the company of her eight dogs, her truest and most faithful companions, and her almost as faithful husband, Joe.
Megyn is also the author of the award-winning Sabrina Vaughn thriller series, written under the name Maegan Beaumont.

a bit disappointing.

After the previous three books, I thought this would be something different. Not less dark, just different. It dragged out - how many times can you repeat “the tragedy” of the past, before it gets boring?

Perfect closing up to this series. The first book in this particular 4 books series starts out tame, nothing crazy. The second book touches minimally on some harder topics, 3rd book gets a little crazy, and then this book was, in my opinion, darker and heavier. Definitely contains violence and some topics that may be harder to read for some.

I really enjoyed the Gilroy Clan books (but I especially liked Connor Gilroy's character who shows up in every single book in the Gilroy universe - including each of these too!) But I’m glad I picked up the Kings of Brighton series as well because I actually ended up liking it better overall as a series. I’m sure I’ll be reading everything this author writes/has written.

Final notes - MY ONLY GRIPE Every single of one of the 14 books I’ve read from Megyn Ward have been riddled with spelling errors, grammatical errors, completely wrong words stuck in sentences... one of the books even had repeated paragraphs! It’s bad honestly, and I don’t mean to be a jerk but holy crap they need a good editing!! I mean don’t get me wrong I loved both of these series - one of my faves! - but for real that truly Drove. Me. CRAZY!

I've been looking forward to Jase’s story for so long! This is the last installment of the Kings of Brighton series and was so worth the wait!

Jase and Ophelia had a chance meeting at the Brighton home for boys when Philly’s stepfather came to find her a “new big brother. “ His intentions were nothing brotherly at all and Jase felt an overwhelming need to protect her almost forcing her stepfather to choose him to bring home.

When all hell broke loose trying to protect her, Jase had to run. He never forgave himself for leaving her behind and has been trying to find her for the last decade. When her past finally catches up to her, he is her only hope for survival.

This book was action packed and filled with an on the edge of our seats storyline, not that I expected anything less from Megyn. And to make it even better, one of my favorite characters from another book made an appearance!! ❤️Connor Gilroy!

Oh my gosh! Megyn did it again!

Jase was absolutely incredible to read. I had to take my time reading this as it was much different than her others.
Jase is the last one from Brighton so we finally get his story.
Jase remembers Philly all those years ago and never stopped searching for her all those years in between, little did he know she was closer than he thought.
Philly was afraid Victor would find her but she knew exactly what she needed to do.

Jase and Philly brought me to my knees and tears to my eyes several times! Can he finally free her from the past she has been running from all these years and can she finally show him that he can love someone?

Megyn, this was an incredible story! Now, I need to read this series from the beginning!.

I absolutely love Megyn Ward's writing. I loved the Gilroy Clan series and am eagerly awaiting the next duet to drop. I have been waiting to read the books from this series as I knew that it was not quite complete, and I hate reading part of a series then having to wait for the next instalment ( I'm an impatient reader I guess). Megyn is very detail orientated in her writing, with lots of textures, tastes, sights and sounds detailed throughout. This makes her work enjoyable and easy to read and follow. Jase's book continues to tell the stories of four boys who became as close as brothers when they were children. His love for Ophelia never completely died, just went away over time until they meet again.

Sacrifice and saving each other became the cornerstones of Jase & Ophelia's relationship. The last of the Kings of Brighton reminds you once again of the resiliency of the human spirit against all odds. Love conquers all - especially our two heroes. Life is a series of chances and fate, and second chances can be rare. When you get one, hold on with everything you are and throw yourself into the life you want to create. Jase and Ophelia never had an easy path but once they found each other again they resolved to stay on their path together. A beautiful ugly story that hits all the right notes. And gives us a little extra Gilroy to enjoy along the way.

Jase and Ophelia’s stories are heartbreakingly tragic and it’s a wonder they are still able to love, live, and dream. Victims of CSA, he protects her and she protects him during their first meeting. Reunited as adults they are still connected emotionally and now sexually and physically as well.

Megyn continues this series of relationships and their commitment to each other. Jase and Ophelia have one chance to ensure they and their family and friends are safe from a psychopath. This story made me cry for these children, angry that adults and broken systems failed them, and feel hope for their future.

Disappointed by this Kings of Brighton series. I loved the camaraderie, chemistry, and brother banter between the four boys. Those relationships were funny, meaningful, and genuine. This series fell short with the romantic relationships and storylines in my opinion. Each book got more and more outrageous in its story. Especially the last two, Grayson and Jase, which I have 2-2.5 stars because I felt the characters barely knew each other and were falling so deeply in love. I just couldn’t buy it. Too unbelievable. I was skimming through the books and even the steamy scenes just so I could be done with this series and start something new.

Jase is the best Bright Brother!

Megyn Ward saved the best for last!
Jase Bright is the one I would want on my side. He loves and protects everyone and everything with his whole heart and soul and when it comes to the girl he thought he once lost forever despite his effort to be the savior, Philly drops back into his life in the most unexpected way. Now he has his chance to have her back in his life.
Megyn Ward is a must read author, All of her books are amazing.
Jase and Ophelia are amazing and Hot !

This is Jase's story the last of the Brightons. This was a heavy, emotional story. There are some triggers. I have been waiting for Jase's story and it wasn't what I expected. It explains where Jase went and what he dealt with when he left the boys home. The playboy club owner who is a saviour. Met Ophelia when he was young and then spent his adulthood looking for her.

I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.

Get your tissues ready because this one will have your emotions all over the place. Jase and Ophelia both have traumatic past that were just devastating. They find their way to each other again and life seems to fall in place for them. This story has triggers so beware. Ms. Ward has woven a masterful story that stirs the heart and will have you thinking about this one long after reading.

Thrilling and Chilling…

WARNING… this book is definitely not for the weak. Even though it’s not AS graphic, it is definitely made for those who are strong, scarred, battered and bruised. This book is for the survivors and those who love them.
Honey, the struggle is real…

Learned more about Jace.

Honestly I was looking forward to Jace’s story since I began to read Tobias. Sorry to say I was disappointed as the story felt off the brand of the previous brothers. I like to go into a story blind so no more details. Only if you are anticipating a story to follow the other three this feels more like another author wrote this story. I am now current on Tobias, Logan and Grayson.

Rough!

This story was the hardest of the four boys to get through. It took me until about a third of the way through give or take to really find the stride of the story.

Jase and Ophelia each had their demons but for some reason their souls reached out to each other and the demons didn’t matter anymore.

I loved the way the ensign played out. I loved that she felt she needed to be there. It was part of her story that needed to be finished as much as it was for Jase.

Wow! Finally!

This one was intense! Megyn Ward out did herself on this one. All Brighton and Gilroy clan books are awesome and interesting intensely riveting but so out of all Tobias's and Ophelia is story has even passed Connor and Henleys even Declan and Tess's. This family friend group MsWard has created is phenomenal along with her writing and imagination. I'm waiting on Wentworth now. Will be difficult. 5 stars.

Whewwww

Whew, this was a hard one. The content was so awful but such a powerful story. I love Jase and Ophelia, my heart broke over and over for these two. I did enjoy all the other cast of characters that I’ve read about over the years! As for the villains…I don’t t know if I’ve ever hated the bad people in any story I’ve ever read as much as I hated these wicked monsters.

Beautifully written 🖤

Beautiful

I knew what I was getting into with the Brights, each man is different. But then there’s Jase. His story is as beautiful as it is tragic, and I feel blessed that Megyn was able to put it on the page. And a little HEA doesn’t hurt 💚💚 It’s certainly going back into my reread pile!

I loved this story and could not put it down. Jase is a true hero as hard as he tried to save Ophlia from the life that she was living with her step-dad. They lost contact with each other for 10 years and Jase never knew that she was under hos nose the whole time. And turned into her savior from Victor. I also love that Conner made an appearance in this book also.

Goodness me! This book had me hooked! Jas and Ophelia have been through so much and deserve their happy ending, but my gosh, they fought hard for it. It's a story that is emotional, heart-wrenching, dark, and twisted, all bound up in pure love.

What can I say?

Probably my favorite author. The chemistry is always instant and you dont have to wait for the dreadful 1/2 way mark for characters to actually connect.

The plot on this book was a tad strange, but still kept me entertained and wanting more...
