Ever felt annoyed at billionaires spending oceans of money on nothing but fancy toys? Evie is annoyed. But she has the skills to turn the tables on one of them.
Evie loved her job working for a private bank, until she realised exactly who she was working for. Every single one of the billionaires her bank represents has come by their money dishonourably if not downright dishonestly. As she mentally prices up the watches they wear, bought simply to let other rich men know exactly how rich they are, and listens to them boast about the fifteenth high performance car they have acquired, she fumes. Especially as she knows just how dirty their businesses are. She has the brains to bring at least one of them down. But not the brawn.
Marco is trapped. Forced to work for a corrupt crime lord he is lost and lonely. His boss is blackmailing him, forcing him to drive around his criminal empire and be his bodyguard. When Evie spots Marco and he falls for her she knows she can use him for her own ends. He has the raw courage and exactly the skills she needs. Can Evie pull off the heist of the century and keep Marco's family alive? But when the dust dies down, what will become of Marco?
I really enjoyed this spicy suspense romance novel. Meg Barber did a great job of slipping inside the skin of a noble-hearted chauffeur. A great read that kept me on my toes, the message at the end the cherry on the cake.
This was a very good read. It has an unusual plot and an unusual way of ending the story with a "Part Two". Action packed thriller that was difficult not to want to read on. Page turner. Very refreshing storyline and some real raunchy sex that puts 50 shades in the shade. I am a slow reader but went through this in no time. Highly recommended. Can't wait to see if there is a sequel or another such book from this author.
The driver was a read that you wanted to continue. It managed to keep me wanting more albeit the graphic sexual scenes maybe a little hot for some. Unfortunately for me the last chapter left me wanting more, it was as though the author had finished in a rush and run out of the ideas that had gripped me at the start. All in all though an enjoyable read.
I enjoyed reading this book and found it gripping and exciting. It is the story of a daring heist with a plot which is full of twists and turns. The reader is left in suspense until the end.
