This guide to the life and writings of Frederick Buechner chronicles the life of the popular theologian and novelist and thoroughly examines the themes that motivate his work
Though this was a difficult read, I was delighted to find it. Some time ago I heard of Buechner, but I had an incorrect spelling of the name and this was prior to my computer days; so I never did find any of his books. This book analyzed his style of writing, comparing it to John Donne, Soren Kierkegaard, Paul Tillich, Dostoevsky,Graham Greene and others. My study of the classics being quite limited, this was a mind and soul-stretching book. Now, I'm keen to read Buechner's books myself. This was a great introduction!
This was a book analyzing the books Frederick Buechner wrote. Having only read The Book of Bebb and Telling Secrets, I was somewhat lost through parts of this.
