Drive Me Crazy #3

Pretty Please Me

Rate this book
My friend just asked me to be her sex tutor.

Maggie said she needs a professional. Because she says she can’t hit that big O.

Plus her high school crush just reached out after she drunkenly liked a really old photo on social media at 3 AM.

How do I know this?

I hid in our friend’s tarot booth to avoid my last Submissive. Only to find Maggie with an extremely sexually charged message from Spirit written on a napkin. The word Orgasm written huge in the center.

When Maggie’s apartment floods, I take her to my place.

I know I shouldn’t, but when Maggie begs me with her beautiful trusting eyes to be the one to help her get off.

All I can think about is pleasing Maggie in every way.

I’m dying to be her Pleasure Dom, but I don’t want to lose her.

When she wakes up and finds the contract I built for us, I hope she says yes.

Thirty days then we’re done.

Get her off, but don’t fall in love.

Except – I don’t know if I’ll be able to follow my own rules this time around.

Pretty Please Me is a laugh-out-loud, scorching-hot romantic comedy that puts a fun spin on the more commonly known BDSM lifestyle.
• Friends to Lovers.
• Dom/Sub Agreement.
• Sex Lessons.
• Forced Proximity.
• He Falls First.
It is the third book in the Drive Me Crazy series but can be read as a standalone.

I received an ARC for my honest review. This is my first and definitely not last time reading from this author.

I very much enjoyed Pretty Please Me! It was playing as a movie in my head as I was reading along. It’s like 50 shades of grey but in Rom-Com form. I was laughing at times thinking how relatable the MC was. I loved how all the characters in the book would drop everything to help out their friends and family. The love story between Sam and Maggie was great. I think he could have groveled more in the end, but I very much enjoyed this book. This is a true recommendation to those that need a laugh out loud experience with some kink involved.

--I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you so much!--

I have some mixed feelings about this book. This is my first book in this series or by this author, but it does seem to stand alone. Some light spoilers in this review so be aware.

Overall this book was an easy and enjoyable read, and if you're interested it's worth a look. However, it definitely could have done with a couple more passes by an editor and/or being read out loud at least once. While far from the worst book I've read, there was a massive number of run-on sentences. Comma use is something of a peeve of mine and they abound like weeds throughout the book. Toward the end there were quite a few typos too which makes me think the last few chapters may have received some last-minute rewrites that weren't fully polished.

Let's start with the things I like:
- The representation of BDSM lifestyle. It's rare to see the idea of a pleasure dom used correctly, and even more rare for the BDSM lifestyle to be represented as more than a fetish. It's called a "lifestyle" for a reason, and this book captures that very well!
- Maggie! She's spunky, funny, and her development through the book is incredible. I appreciate that she isn't just a damsel in distress, and she's actually interesting and has a lot of personality unlike a lot of female leads in this genre.

Which brings us to the things I don't like:
- The sex wasn't hot for me. At all. Every scene felt rushed or abbreviated, is the only way I can put it. There wasn't any one thing inherently wrong with them, but there was minimal build-up.
- The "right man" cure. For Maggie, the addition of Sam to her life magically cures all that ails her (or at least most). While I appreciate her growth, it all feels a little too easy. This is especially true because there is little to no sexual experimentation what so ever, no exploration of what does or does not feel good for her, and I have a hard time believing that Maggie did not even once play around with a shower head which is the star player of the first sex scene of the book.
- Sam. I really, really wanted to like him. He's a character type that I adore! Unfortunately he falls very flat for me, largely because his side of the story is constantly repeating the same sentiments over and over whereas Maggie's side shows consistent character development.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you so much Jeré Anthony!

Fifty Shades of Grey meets Faking with Benefits in this romantic comedy. Pretty Please Me is a rom-com through and through but with a touch of angst, which makes it all the better.

Maggie's sexual experience is very narrow and, on top of that, unsatisfactory. After reconnecting with her childhood crush, Maggie wants to fix something that's allegedly broken in herself before meeting him at their high school reunion. So she starts hunting for a sex tutor of sorts to help her to finish. And who better to fill this job than her friend who happens to be a pleasure Dom?

Sam swore off romantic relationships due to something that happened to him when he was 18 and after discovering the BDSM lifestyle, he felt comfortable in his D/s arrangements where falling in love is strictly forbidden. He, however, is willing to bend his rules a little to help Maggie. Will this apply to his main rule as well?

"I may not be able to control how anything else goes in her life, but I can take control tonight. And I’ll live off the memory for the rest of mine."

I love Maggie and Sam's journey. Maggie had a truly wounded inner child and she was in desperate need of some pampering and he did deliver it! He made her feel confident not just in her sexuality, but in her life as a whole. I was surprised by how the D/s dynamic played out, it was really sweet and I may have just learned that "so fucking polite" does something to me. Thanks a lot, Sam.

I'm not a big fan of the secret past thing, especially when we are kept in the dark as well. I believe that knowing from the get-go what happened to Sam in the past would have helped to better understand him and his motivations. And this leads us to the third-act breakup. I think most of the time, the third-act breakup is avoidable and unnecessary, but in this book, it was something important for both MCs' developments. They have healed a great deal together, yet some changes need to come from within and alone. And you know the saying, hurt people, hurt people. However, the resolution was a bit rushed for me, I'd take a chapter or two more for it.

I've loved this book, I was invested from page one. The writing is really good and it flows so well.
This was my first book by this author and I'll definitely be reading her previous books Drive Me Crazy and Wild For You!

this is what boredom has struck me to. goddamn I love tiktok. lemme tell you something, I truly lost all faith in this book when the main character went on stage.. sung some paramore.. and danced.. at a bar… when I fucking CACKLEDDDD it was too muchhh man. Not only that, I just couldn’t deal with her, sometimes she acted like a damn child like atleast act like the 28 year old you are cmon. this was just too funny and boredom had truly struck me.

this has given me the inspiration to make a shelf JUST for books like these where it’s so bad it’s funny.

I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If you're looking for an easy read with some spice and kink, then this is a good option. I expected more spicy scenes, but the way they were incorporated played well into the plot.

This book is part of a series, but it can be read as a stand-alone.

Initially, I got 50 Shades of Gray vibes, but I quickly realized that this book explored a different type of dominate/submissive dynamic.

I plan to read the rest of the series!

When I say I devoured this book, I mean I gobbled it up like a “good girl” would. 😉 This is my third book by Jere’ Anthony that I’ve read, and it’s a hard toss up between “Pretty Please Me” and “Wild For You” as to which is my favorite! I love how she intertwined characters from previous books in the series so you can get a glimpse of what some of your favorite characters are up to. Maggie’s self journey made this book stand out among other romances for me because her character’s development is like a whole other story you want to see unfold outside of the romance with her and Sam. Out of all the love interests in the series, Sam is definitely my favorite! The dom/sub dynamic is fun and steamy, especially if you’re into praise kinks. The smut was 👌🏼🥵🌶️🌶️🌶️ This will easily be a series I come back to enjoy again when I’m in a reading slump!

I love the dedication of Pretty Please Me, Jere Anthony’s third book: “This one’s for all the women out there who ever thought they were broken. It was never you…”

What to Expect:
Friends-to-Lovers
Pleasure Dom (including lessons)
Millionaire
Forced Proximity
Dating Arrangement

Jere Anthony is an autobuy author for me – her books are what I love about indie romance authors. I was crying-laughing at 1% all the way through to the epilogue, and just when you wonder if she’ll go there with the story (and spice), she goes there and then some. But even though this book is definitely a steamy rom-com, there’s also great character development and growth with the characters - Maggie learned her confidence and voice throughout the story, and Sam learned to forgive mistakes from his past. Their chemistry was off the charts, with friendship as their foundation but lines blurring from what’s in their “arrangement” and what’s real.

I cannot recommend this book enough. If you are someone who likes: spicy romance (think: Sara Cate, Lily Gold, early days Tessa Bailey/Christina Lauren), legitimately funny romantic comedy (think: Livy Hart, Lynn Painter, Nellie Wilson, and yes, also Tessa Bailey), or if you’re looking for a banger of a book (and you trust my recs), you will love this book. Even though this closes the chapter of this interconnected standalone series, I can’t wait to see what’s next for Jere.

Thank you to the author for an ARC - all opinions are my own.

ARC Review💌

I was very nervous when first starting this book, because of the dom/sub relationship. those type of relationships in books are a hit or miss, with me.

Although, this book gave JUST the right amount of spice and details. The intimate scenes weren’t over the top, which made me feel comfortable while reading.

Sam and Maggie’s story is so heart warming.

Sam was an amazing character. He was so caring, calm, sensitive and understanding when it came to Maggie. He literally is the perfect gentleman, omg! And Maggie is such a sweetheart.

Such a kind soul, that it upset ME when she talked negatively about herself and her body.

In this book I came to discover many different lessons/messages.

- it’s okay to want to please and make other people happy, but it’s NOT okay if it’s at the expense of your own HAPPINESS.

- it’s okay to say no!

- know your worth!

This book is so much more than just a smutty romance, it’s a beautiful love story. With a MAN helping a woman to heal herself from within, and discover that all she needed all ALONG was herself. 💗

mhmm, that psychic might have been on to something. lolll

-p.s. im not even sure why it took me more than a week to finish this book, considering how good it was-

(I received an advanced review copy for free and I am voluntarily leaving this review).

4.25 ⭐️ ARC review - light spoilers

Oh man, this book… I’d like to start by saying this is the first book in the series I have read. It’s also my first time reading this author who graciously gifted me with my very first ARC. I hope this review makes her smile as she put her faith into my hands with a review hoping I (like others) will love her passion for writing - Ok, now to the good stuff.

The first chapter hooked me with some good laughs! I mean, Poor Maggie & her sexual struggles were the real deal! If you read the book… the first chapter will make you laugh and probably bring back memories of your own self in the early dating stages of your life… And then came Sam!

Sam & Maggie… I loved them! Yep, I did. I loved their friendship in the beginning of this book. I loved how Sam used the “contract” to force Maggie into having self-love and confidence. I loved how Maggie loved him for who he was. His tenderness & want to take care of her outside of the bedroom & hunger for her inside the bedroom. I loved how in their Dom/Sub world, with him as the the Dom, she actually had control because his dominancy was contingent on her pleasures. What can I say, that’s just flat out hot in my eyes.

I’d like to think he fell first. But the reality is, at least in my opinion looking back, they fell together at the same time. Which was so beautiful! But Sam’s stubbornness kept overshadowing his choices & Maggie’s respect for the contract sealed her lips. Until the party that is, where she admitted it all…

As usual, there is the 80% into the book mark where $hit hits the fan. And I’m not going to give away the who’s, what’s & why’s… but I am going to say that I love the time lapsed realizations. I loved the family camaraderie in making magic happen. Honestly, it was just so sweet to me!

Do I wish there was a little more Dom/Sub scenes? Of course, I love smut! But to me, this book was more about self discovery then “sex & lessons”. Overall, this was really a good book & I will be recommending to the right people 😉

I absolutely LOVE this book! And I will be purchasing myself a copy to have because I couldn’t get enough of this couple. This is my 1st book I’ve read in this series and by this author and it was amazing! Id definitely recommend reading the first 2 because this one has spoilers in it. But even without reading them I didn’t feel like I missed anything. I was crying laughing by the end of the first chapter and continued throughout the entire book. Sam is amazing! Like wow! Just perfect! I love that he falls first, something about a guy falling first just does it for me. I love how he really helps Maggie find her worth. She’s also equally amazing. Seeing the way she grew and found herself was amazing. How she realized what she deserved was so positive!
This was such a positive and healthy Dom/Sub relationship. You don’t always get that in romance book but you sure did in this one. The way Sam encouraged her and how she finally had someone in her corner was just perfect! The smut was great!! I wish we had gotten one more smut scene at the end of the book but I do love the ending non the less.
I also enjoyed the 15 years later epilogue. It was sweet seeing their lives so far later down the road.

I received an ARC for this book after coming across the author’s TikTok. I was iffy about it but it was some of my fav tropes so I had to give it a try! When I tell you I laughed so hard at some of the stuff in here I’m not kidding 🤣 The plane scene with Sam watching the kids for that mom I have not laughed that hard from a book in months! I had tears 🤣 This is a pleasure dom/sub situation. 50 shades but better honestly. They’re friends to lovers, millionaire/billionaire idk which one lol. She’s struggling because she had never had an O & thought she was broken. We’ll Ol’ dude comes in & shows her she’s for sure wrong about that one 🥵 The banter between the friends & the family is hilarious too! His dad & brothers are SO funny 🤣 All in all this was a great book for sure going to go back & read the other two books from this series!

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review, so here we go.

Maggie is a woman who is trying to get in touch with her sexuality by making a contract with her friend (Sam) who happens to be a Dom. Instead of just sex lessons, she learns to value herself and to be selfish from time to time.

I honestly adored the characters and, though I haven't read the other two in this series, I am definitely going to now! I want to stay in this world of love, and conflict, and hope for as long as I can.

Maggie is so relatable. I understand the insecurities that plague her and her desire to overcome them. She has let fear rule her for long enough, she deserves to have some happiness as well.

Sam is a man who gets what he wants, but is shown what he wants is not always what he needs. The way he cares for Maggie is so sweet and I hope to find someone so caring in my life.

The relationship is so well written and I cannot wait for you to read it!!

After the last in a string of terrible one night stands, Maggie has decided that it's not them, it's her. In defiance, she heads out to a fancy bar in the hopes she can find someone to agree to teach her what she's missing in the bedroom.

She doesn't expect to run into Sam there (the man who helped save her best friend in a past book) and ends up sharing her predicament over a drink. But she doesn't know that Sam only has relationships by contract, and she's just played into his ultimate fantasy...

Will a 30 day contract together be enough for Maggie to gain her confidence back? And how will they manage when the contract ends?

This is the third book in the Drive Me Crazy series by @author_jere_anthony and I was lucky enough to receive an ARC via @booksirens

I had such a good time reading this book; it was the perfect mix of focusing on Maggie's journey of self love and appreciation vs toe curling 🔥 scenes. Both Maggie & Sam's characters were well written and I love a friends to lovers / forced proximity romance.

Keep an eye out for publication on June 1st 2023 🥳

WOW. Let me tell you I fell in love with Magnolia from the start. The beginning chapter was a great way to set up the story. When Sam came in? It was perfect. The main characters chemistry was great. I loved the amount of spice that was in the book, along with the amazing plot. The ending was hilarious but also a little tear inducing. Overall, I am so happy I was able to read this book. I never usually read anything that isn’t fantasy but this book made my lil heart swell.

I love love love this book so much! I don't know if it is because I relate and bonded with Maggie or that I love Sam in general. Pleasure Dom seems like such a vibe. Someone send one my way!

Jeré Anthony I need more! I still have the other books to read, but I am ready for more from you 🫶🏼 this book came at a great time. It hit me in the good feels and had me smiling and enjoying myself throughout. It is a great read for those looking for a journey and growth story but still wanting spice and fuzzy feels to go with it.

I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. It had the perfect mix of comedy and smut. I also loved that it touched on more of the deeper parts of a sub/dom relationship. It isn't just about the sex but helping the partners grow together. Sam was so caring and being a pleasure dom his main goal was making sure that Maggie fell in love with her body and could take her pleasure into her own hands. I will definitely be adding all of Jere Anthony's books to my TBR!

4.5 star read, thanks to the author for an advanced copy for my honest review.

Omg this book was glorious. It's funny and smutty and such a great read. Sam and Maggie start out with a Dom/sub relationship when Maggie gets tired of the same dead-end relationships and wants to learn some new moves so to speak. But the friendship soon turns to a lover's relationship, and I loved it. I loved the banter that they shared and the 50 shades vibes this book gave off. Make this scorcher your next summer read.

I really thought I'd love this, and some scenes were pretty enjoyable. However...
- many of the characters' actions didn't make sense or felt forced;
- there was too much telling us what the characters are like, rather than showing us;
- the repetitive phrases were annoying (how many times can one be putty in ones hands, and why, or why, did Sam keep referring to himself as a "monster with a darkness inside of him" for the stupidest reasons);
- the ending was so rushed and illogical, it really made me cringe...

This book started off as hilarious, and I was a bit disappointed that it got less funny the more I read.
But the story was nice, the characters too, even though it was super predictable and might I say a bit cliché (don’t necessarily meant that as a bad thing).

This was my least favorite of the series. The story line was fine, but I felt like it was missing the funny banter and just all humor that the other two had. Especially the Wild one had me laughing out loud many times...where this one didn't have that comedy in it.
