The pictures in this book are sensational! If you’re into butterflies and bugs, you are guaranteed to love this.
The only thing I would have changed, and why this book didn’t get five stars, is the fact that the book doesn’t contain individual information about each type of butterfly. Each butterfly section talks about the author finding the butterfly and taking it’s picture. There is a little info about the butterfly, but I would have liked more, and pictures of the different stages too. That would have added to it for me personally.

I can’t enthuse enough about just how beautiful this book is! The photography is second to none and the stunning photographs show the intricate markings of the butterflies. As a novice butterfly lover I was looking for a book that would help me identify butterflies and this book will certainly help me do that.

It’s laid out in the months that the butterflies are likely to be see beginning with April and the Orange-tip.

The narrative is accessible to the everyday person and has interesting facts such as about the butterflies names as well as anecdotal information about the photographs. So it is a joy to read as well.

The quality of the printing and and the book as a whole is amazing - no flimsy pages!

I took it to meet up with some photography friends. Nobody quickly flicked through this book. It was eyes down with delight turning page after page with absolute appreciation and enjoyment!
