Zander Blackwood Two years in Alpha training and my old man expects me to go back to high school and finish my final year. Honestly, I think it's just stupid. I don't need to go back! Ifinished my studies while I was in training, Hell I’ve been looking into university degrees. Still here I am Monday morning going to the one school I really didn't want to. Does he not realize that Oliver Steward and his little buddies are here? Does he expect me to play nice after all these years of hate between our packs? This peace deal we have signed while on neutral grounds is complete BS and I'm expected to roll over and play nice.

Ashleigh Steward 18, the age we can find our mate, the age that will determine if I stay in my current pack in my current position as Beta to Ollie or If I change packs because of my mate. If he is a higher rank than I, which will be Alpha then I will have to move to his pack. I have spent my entire life preparing to be next to Ollie when he takes over as Alpha. Doing training, making sure my marks are exceptional so I can be accepted into any university. Building relationships between all the different packs and pack members. The one thing I was not expecting Zander Blackwood.
Book 1 of the Alpha Series
The Alpha Series Book 1: Alpha Zander (Completed) Book 2: Alpha Oliver (Ongoing)
A weird book. It ends with no resolution or clues about who is behind the disappearances and the school attack. Maybe there's meant to be a sequel at some point? But it just seems to end abruptly, a weird structure.
Unfortunately the end wasn't the only problem. This was a frustrating read because of the male lead, Zander. There was honestly nothing good about him. Not swoon-worthy or book boyfriend material AT ALL. He started the book a fuckboy, and I thought as most of these books go, he'd change when he found his mate and we'd get to see some of his good qualities.
Nope, not so!
He just kept fucking up and hurting her over and over again. Kissing other girls, being afraid of commitment, running away and ignoring her for DAYS whenever there was a problem. I lost count how many times he said the line "She was hurt, and I couldn't believe I caused that again after promising I wouldn't". You can't believe it, Zander? Really? Because this is like the 6th time!!
Not only was he an idiot incapable of deciding a smart plan of action to deal with problems, he received good advice from his wolf and his friends when he was doing something stupid that would hurt his mate, and he STILL chose to ignore all of them. Then he'd get all shocked pikachu face when he realized he hurt her. AGAIN. And she would forgive and forget. AGAIN. Why does she even like that guy?
It was frustrating to read, and then at the end they get attacked, we don't know by who, and the book ends. Weird! Not a satisfying read.
