Hundreds of millions are dead, and most major cities have been consumed. The northeastern continental US is considered lost, and attempts by survivors to flee via highways and back roads continue to be hampered by the insidious, never-stopping growth that threatens all.

It's been hailed as a groundbreaking new weed killer - a true revolution for farming and invasive plant control techniques. When strange deaths start spreading around the country like wildfire, it becomes apparent that this miracle chemical is actually a nightmare that threatens the lives of every single person on the planet.
On a small farm in rural Virginia, a string of animal deaths leads to the discovery of a horror beyond imagining. It is inescapable, unavoidable and impossible to combat, and everyone who comes close to it risks certain death. Worst of all - it's spreading.
In the Amazon rain forest, secret testing by the chemical's creator reveals its true effects, both on plant and animal life. Horrified by what he's created, he faces an uphill battle to reveal the truth as the world begins to crumble around him.
A mother - separated from her husband and child and trapped in the bottom of a bottle - chooses to fight the encroaching shadows, and in doing so brings light to the darkness. Her decisions, and those of other survivors of this horrific event, will be the only thing that stands between humanity and total annihilation.

Did I really just get through the first 3 installments of this series in the span of less than 2 days? Yes, that's how hooked I was. The tragic stories that are interspersed with the stories of our main characters act as cruel reminders that even the people we don't really hear about in details also have equally rich inner lives as our main cast and I really enjoyed that because it kept the stakes high.
This continues to be an excellent series with another very good book. We have some deaths among our people, one rather expected, the other more distressing. Why did Jameson just leave his chicken friends behind. They were companions and at least try to crate them to transport on the truck. Don’t just leave them to perish horribly in fire. I look forward to the next book and hopefully accountability for the VEA chiefs that caused this.
Barry Napier and Mike Kraus bring us Entangled, Book 3 in their riveting disaster-thriller series, Darkness Falls.
New York, like large swathes of the US, has gone green, in what could be an homage to the 20th century horror film, The Day of the Triffids, where deadly plants suck the life out of everyone they come across. How can the kudzu vine horror be curtailed, when all efforts have so far proved futile? Can survivors escape the predators by staying offshore? An absolute shoo-in for a movie or TV series, get your copy of Entangled today...and don't forget to stock up on triple-strength weedkiller!
Great 3rd book of the series, I am totally engrossed with these books, each groups story is as nerve wracking as each others. I would be terrified in any of their shoes. These authors have wrote a fantastic series. Quite different to other near end of the world scenarios. I can't believe the chickens were left behind either, that upset me more than Scott. I'm trying to decide whether to concrete all my garden now, no plants at all.
Wow, another amazing book that will keep you reading. Millions dead but the survivors are trying to find a safe place. How will they get through the growths. Danger, suspense, will keep you guessing what could happen next. Well written with strong characters. Impossible to not binge read.
It seems the vine has at least rudimentary intelligence . Shotgun was a surprise but expected . Out of one situation into another must have one heck of a energy source to feed that growth.
I enjoyed the continuation of the story in book three. Is the salt what is keeping the Kudzu from the chickens? It was sad to lose John. I liked his character better than Jameson who abandoned his pet chickens.
Another thrilling story in this series. This plant is horrific. Makes you look at the plants around you and imagine this happening. Excited to read more and hope our groups keep on surviving.
