Multiple time USA TODAY & Amazon 5-million copy bestselling authors DAVID ARCHER and BLAKE BANNER have combined forces to create one hell of a thriller series!
In the wake of the Vietnam debacle, when the mighty USA was humiliated by Soviet-backed Vietcong, the CIA plotted to drag the USSR into a ‘Russian Vietnam’ in Afghanistan. The plan was such a success it led ultimately to the collapse of the Soviet Union. Now, forty years on, as Russia limps, scarred and crippled from the battlefields of Kherson, Donetsk and Kharkiv, Colonel Alexandrina Vitsin swears to drag the USA into an American Ukraine.
From her small dark office on Mokhovaya Street, in Moscow, she plots the unthinkable - war in western Europe. She will tear apart the European Union, inject Islam and Sharia law into that secular, democratic haven, and force the USA into an unwinnable conflict that will cripple NATO forever.
And in the process she will exact her personal revenge on the man she has been hunting for over ten years, since he foiled her on Victoria Island, in the Bay of Bengal; a man who works in the shadows from an agency that does not exist. But now she has his scent, and she will hunt him down and she will kill him, the man called Nero.

Maybe its because I gobbled up the material but this story seemed to be a good hundred pages too short. A fantastic world builder these two writers conjured up a major European country divided into a civil war and secession, like Texas style want to be's this is all about oil and they could do it better alone than under the thumb of the parent nation. To incite matters more they inflame nationalistic pride for a prior Muslim nation to be pulled into the support for the cessation and declaration of independence. A must read. Two cups of coffee minimum.
Alex Mason at it again! Love this series with Mason and Captain Gallin. Together they are dynamic. They crack jokes during serious situations and it also works brilliantly. Can't forget about the big guy Nero! Looking forward to their next mission. Please keep them coming. It's one of the best series out there!!
Bad people from Russia and Iran threaten Spain' s autonomy
Alex and colleagues intervene rapidly to find the truth about newly discovered petroleum deposits under Andalusia. Stability of Spain, Europe, and balance of power requires urgent and creative action. As with past episodes, I kept reading nonstop to learn if Alex survives in one piece.
Good story, fast paced and interesting. My only complaint was the number of typos that should've been caught. Hopeful that Amazon corrects at least the ones I reported.
I was disappointed by the simplicity of the book and usually am by books of this type.
Create a hero. Hero meets girl. Sleeps with her. They become embroiled in danger and survive by impossible action. Happens a couple more times. Everyone comes home but the bad guys and they are, of course, dead.
I escape the mundance when I read an Alex Mason novel. Flashpoint centers on a potential civil war between Spain and Andalusia which could spark an American/ European conflagration, especially since Iran and Russia are involved. The authors include plenty of barely believable escapism, bloody fighting, and the always appealing interaction between main characters, Alex and Aila.
Revenge. A plan many years in the making and now it is coming to fruition. She will have her day. Nothing will stop her. But there were a trio she hadn't counted on and they knew disaster would happen unless they intervened. Nero, Alex and Gallin at their finest or maybe their madness was catching.
Slow start with lengthy background to set up the history and the politics of the plot, but then it takes off with great action and nuance. Flashpoint is a solid match point!
A funny, brave and smart agent . Teamed with a beautiful (think gal Gadot) Mossad agent. Working together in locations all over the world. Smart, exciting and fast paced. I love the patriotism and the journey. Kudos to Nero for running these capers.
While I opted to suspend reality for a few hours, and go along with the mayhem that abounded in the story, I worry at times that this scenario could come to pass in this screwed up world
Interesting plot. Very believable. Russia is still our enemy. Not being a history buff, all this Russia vs. the US stuff is quite daunting. This author seems to have his "finger on the pulse" of where our world is headed. Scary.
My only dislike was the way they played Nero my favorite character into the story. The story line is good, could have used a bit more action against the Russian lady....
I really like the Alex Mason character he is not the usual hero. He has his weak and strong points. I think that's what intriguing about him. Read the series and get to know him. It's worth the time.
Alex Mason is on the way to Andalusia to verify the truth about oil deeeep under the sea and ground!
Alex Mason is on his way to Andalusia to verify the existence of oil reserves under the European Province in Spanish land and waters. Will he survive this latest venture?
Very typical. More of the same, grind out a "quick read" story with a bit of intriguing, some romance kor just lust) and some international chess playing...viola! You have another Alex Mason oo7 story.
I have powered through the books at this point. I have to think that Alex is one lucky so-ans-so. These books are entertaining let us go to a different existence than what we live in. And isn't that the reason we read? I highly approve this series to one and all.
crazy as it sounds…these books seem right out of the nightly news
Each of the 9 Alex Mason books have things in common: they are intense…no wasted and unnecessary trips to fill space; believable characters (maybe one is the exception that proves the rule); fast paced reading.
Once again the authors have written a story with exciting characters and an intriguing plot. I found it hard to put down. Exciting from the first chapter onwsrds.
Another cracking Alex Mason thriller up to the usual top blotch standard we’ve come to expect. Plenty of action. Worthy of any Bond or Bourne comparisons. It’s got my vote. 100% recommended.
