Whether you are heartbroken from a recent loss of a pet or are still heartbroken from the loss of a pet years ago, this book will help your heart and head move toward healing, or at least move toward a beginning of understanding of how to begin. Danielle MacKinnon's approachable, non-judgmental writing style is easy to read. There are many questions I've been asking myself for years that are addressed in this book. Her book Animal Lessons is amazing as well, but, especially if you are deep in your grief, exhausted, distracted, and having a hard time absorbing anything, this book and its chapters are just the right length to digest. The concepts are presented in an elegantly simple, hopeful, friendly, and compassionate way. There is no cure-all for grieving, and I still cried my way through the book, but I am so grateful to Danielle for sharing her energy and knowledge and I know this book will find anyone exactly when they need it most.
