An interesting little guide to Edmonton, Canada, that quickly details points of curiosity, restaurants, and other touristy venues, including the once largest shopping mall in the world, consigned to now the largest in North America. It is an enjoyable read and I would have liked a map and transport map, just to orientate me to what seems a fascinating place. I suppose such things can and would be picked up at the hotel or at the point of entry. The historical parts of the city and the province of Alberta would interest me, as I can be a bit of a history buff. So, all-in-all, a small and comprehensive guide.
I liked the book, It has mentioned some major attractions in the city. I live in Edmonton myself and there are a lot of good restaurants and coffee house more than what the book suggests. However, I don’t recommend people to travel during winter time to Edmonton.
An informative travel guide about Edmonton that explores several tourist attractions, establishments, hiking trails and activities, and places you can visit. It is a great place to visit. There is so much to see and do. I have never been there before, but would like to visit one day. The photos are great too.
Having lived in & visited Edmonton I’ve never heard of any of the restaurants listed in this book so it was cool to be directed towards alternatives for next date night in the city. He wasn’t wrong about Borden Park. It’s absolutely stunning with all the old trees.
This book provided many neat ideas to spruce up your day when trying something new.
All aboard for a creative and fun journey into an interesting and incredible guide to Edmonton. From the history to the culture to the day to day modern, this book has the tips for all. Airlines to day trips, the author touches on all aspects.
“Edmonton Made Easy”by G.F. Quinn is an easy to read overview of Edmonton written by a local. I picked it up as I’ll be there for work for a couple days, and wanted to explore. I think I’d better try that green onion cake that seems to be famous there, and I was intrigued by all the festivals, so hopefully one falls on the calendar during my visit. I’d love to experience the Deep Freeze festival, it just sounds like too much fun, and the Urban Pedal tour peaks my interest, as well. A great pocket guide, written by a local - good job!
