I'm including this for the sake of total honesty in what I actually read.

This is probably the 2nd worst of all the wedding books I've read since the Engagening. It's dull and uninteresting and assumes the bride is going to spend a ton of money and has a bridal entourage and had no idea a civil ceremony can take place outside a "dull, sterile courtroom." So, you see, even though I never gave much thought to a "perfect" wedding, I have seen at least one movie and seen some tv that included a wedding, never mind wedding shows on tv, having been to real weddings, etc. It makes dumb suggestions and has some factual errors about dumb stuff, which only makes me madder. Not every wedding has to be a wiccan handfasting with bride wearing a leopard print sarong, but by enforcing the perfection of a dopey formula, I am gaggulating.

Actually, the only interesting and helpful parts are the irrelevant parts: the authors describe in great detail how difficult it is to get an annulment to get remarried in the Catholic church. Perhaps I ought to file that away...

Basic but fine. A little outdated since there is so much information online. Good browse.

I'm rather surprised that this book got some rather negative reviews. I found it very comprehensive, informative, interesting, and even a bit humorous (cheesy humor) at times.

I have already used this book to help develop a bank of questions to ask reception site managers. Since I'm early in the planning stages, I am in the research stage at present.

I can understand how a book like this could overwhelm an already nervous bride, but it does have helpful information. The book helped open up my creative thinking processes and I look forward to referencing it as I continue planning.

I'm not sure that this book really helped us at all during the wedding planning. With chefs in the kitchen that wanted to be open to the suggestions here, or with people looking to learn their way in the wedding plan world, this book may be more helpful.

I think that my evaluation is more of an incomplete than anything, given the circumstances.

I borrowed this from the library in ebook format and listened to it using the voiceover feature on my iPhone. Buried in a lot of common-sense advice, each section had a few details I wouldn't have otherwise known and tips I might not have thought of. I plan to check this out again closer to the wedding to save some of the checklists at the end of each section.
