All I've ever wanted is a mate. But not just any mate—I long for a female who sees beyond my royal facade and falls in love with the real me, Da'red, and not the prince.
When a series of unexpected events leads me to cross paths with a captivating human, I can't help but wonder if fate has finally brought me the one I've been searching for. As I find myself drawn to her, risking everything to keep her safe, I start to believe in the magic of the fates.
And when a single touch from her makes my life organ skip a beat...I know that I've found something rare and precious. Every moment with her feels like a stolen treasure. For this female is different from all others.
The thought of her in the arms of another makes me want to defy my kingdom and risk it all for a love that transcends status and power. But can our love truly withstand the weight of the crown? And are we strong enough to conquer the darkness lurking in the shadows?
★★★★★ Guarding for His Mate is a steamy, standalone, sci-fi alien romance intended for mature readers.
What to A royal hero who pushes against the pressure of the crown, jealous/possessive "touch my mate and you are dead vibes", a strong, curvy heroine who doesn’t let her disability hinder her, heat, danger, suspense, emotion, tension, chemistry, flaming hot steamy scenes, fated mates, and a guaranteed HEA. ★★★★★
Rissa’s situation is somehow more harrowing than Trudy’s, as she is blind and trying to hide it to save her own life. Her Prince Charming infiltrates the ranks of the being who purchased her and Rissa has to decide if she can trust anyone. I didn’t give this book 5 stars because one of the major plot points had a really rushed resolution and bothered me from a medical perspective. However, the book was well done, especially during the first few chapters, when the author gave me a new thing to be terrified of.
Spice: 3/5
Triggers: abuse, captivity, mention of SA, violence
Guarding His Mate is the fourth explosive sci-fi book in the Fated Mates of the Atari series by AG Wilde. What was a chance in a lifetime turned out to be anything but. Kidnapped and sold by vile creatures who take, no matter who you are. Creatures who torture, rape, and murder, no matter the consequences. It is a dark, high-stakes tale of romance, action, tension, and suspense. A series that should not be missed.
But hot on their heels are aliens hoping to stop them from exacting revenge. These new aliens are loyal, courageous, and will take on all looming threats that jeopardise their lives and those they swore to protect. These alpha heroes find something they thought would never be possible, and that is a connection with humans in the face of uncertainty and danger.
I wanted to like this one more, but I feel like it was missing something. It had plenty of sexy times but I would have liked more romance. Sweet tender moments to show me that these two were meant to be together beyond the whole fated mate thing and the urge to just have sexy times.

Guarding His Mate de A.G. Wilde serie Fated mates of the Atari libro 4
Argumento:
Sé que he encontrado algo raro y precioso.
Me gustó verlos felices.
It was okay. I did find the FMC story a little more harrowing than some of the other FMC in the series, however after the MMC rescues her and brings her back to the palace it got a little flat for me in comparison to the other books. It wasn’t bad, to me it just felt like the author wasn’t completely sure what to do with these two. It’s like she kept throwing obstacles in their way to keep the story going and I found myself getting a little bored as all of the storylines didn’t feel necessary. I did like seeing all of the girls reunite in this book though.
Prince Da’red has been searching for the final kidnapped human for months. And for months the fates have been leading him back to the same outpost on the same planet, but no matter how many times he searches, he can't find her. When he goes undercover in the slave trade, Rissa is not at all what he expected. Rissa may be blind but she ain't stupid, and she's very cautious of who to trust. She just can't help being drawn to the alien man with the really nice voice, who just also happens to smell really good, and won't stop picking her up.
I had a fun time with this one. It's the kind of scifi that feels a little fantasy and has just enough realism to be relatable. I love how Rissa's disability is just a natural part of who she is and felt well incorporated to her personality and the choices she made for survival. I especially liked the whole "they'll get rid of me because of my weakness" vs "they'll keep her because it should make her docile". It was a fascinating juxtaposition that I had not thought about. They felt like great foil characters rather than classic opposites-attract.
I liked this story but not as much as it’s predecessors, maybe not enough speaking words, because there where pages I skimmed through. Rissa without sight she is all seeing, however I felt pity in her character until maybe the last 3 chapters, Da’red his character has all the ‘H’ words ..honourable, humble and hawt as hell, just like his warrior mates. Similar to the previous storylines the adventure is gripping, revenge is bloody and intimacy is out of this world.
Finishing the series, I am so pleased that each heroine in this series has a disability and finds their HEA. Clarissa "Rissa" is a survivor and has adapted to be able to "see" even though she is blind. She uses her other senses (like smell and sound) to help her tell what is going on and has learnt through trauma to pretend that she can see.
Da'Red is the prince of Atar but he hates it and like his men, has not given up on reducing the four females who were kidnapped after their space shuttle is massacred. He kept returning to a certain space station and poses as a hired guard when he learns that a group of females is being sold to a cruel master.
He finds Rissa and feels a need to protect her. He also figures out that she cannot see and makes accommodations for her. I fond it interesting how he refers to her blindness as "unseeing". Once the females are rescued, they return to Atar and most of the story occurs in the palace. Risa is not aware that he is royalty initially and it is a surprise for her to be referred to as "Princess". There are external conflict points because he is estranged from his father and another female is trying to vie for his attention. There is no third act break up.
The hero does exhibit some possessive traits but generally he was sensible and just wanted to care for Rissa which I liked. Rissa has not had many people she can trust and she finds family in Perthru, Da'Red's care taker after his mother "Mor" dies, Da'Red and his intelligent lion-dog Bee and the three women she bonds with.
I especially enjoyed the scenes where all the four heroines reunite and catch up. Bee the lion was super cute and a great addition to the trio of Da'Red and Rissa. I was confused by the ending as Rissa agrees to help Da'Red rule Atar but also that four couples want to continue taking the Zezentius around the galaxy. I figured that they do not need to start their new roles yet as his father is still alive.
Tropes: Fated mates, found family
Representation: - Heroine is blind - Heroine is plus sized
This was such a great series to read. Each book had a unique heroine who had physical and emotional obstacles to over come. Each had just the right amount of strength and vulnerability that made you want to read more about them. This is Rissa and Da’red’s story. Da'red is the prince if his people. He is more comfortable fighting along side his crew than being in the palace. He's looking for the last of the human females and he believes he's close. Rissa born blind she has struggled to fit in all her life. She has mastered the art of looking like she can see because on earth she was regulated to the lower levels and a life Devils of safety and real living. Since her cruise was hijacked and she was sold she has not known a minutes peace. That is until Da'red finds her. Trust needs to be earned and Da'red does that from the minute he finally finds his human. He will do whatever it takes to keep Rissa safe and make her his mate for life. Together they must defeat many obstacles in order to share the rest of their lives. This is the last installment of this series. Each one was excellent t including this one. Guarding His Mate features Rissa (human) and Da’red (alien). This is the final book in the series and follows the same format. Rissa is blind and has been sold to a terrible alien. Da’red has been searching for her the whole time she’s been missing, constantly being drawn back to the same place. Da’red rescues her and takes her back to his planet, where she gets to discover that he’s actually the crown Prince and future king.
I loved how smart Rissa was. She knew that her lack of sight would not be a good thing in alien society and was very strategic and smart about not revealing that information. Da’red was the appropriate level of completely smitten with Rissa and I loved how he described things for her.
First read 23 December 2025. This is my favourite book in the whole series. Rissa is a blind young woman from earth, trapped on an alien planet, when she is found by Da'red, the prince of the Atari. This is the series finale and it was the best book in my opinion. Rissa and Da'red had a sweet romance.
I would suggest also that you suspend your belief as you read this book, the timelines are a bit cut short, so yeah, just be aware.
This is an open door, SPICY book, so buyer beware LOL. I prefer closed door, but I was interested in the premise. You could probably skip over the spicy parts but its woven into the book to be honest; talks about parts hardening and the likes so beware LOL.
Language is also a bit cursy, the f word etc. Overall, I loved the story.
I’ll start by saying I’ve read all of these and liked them. Rissa is blind and starts her journey in a dungeon, unable to think of a way out. Da’red is a prince who feels a pull to this seedy space port…
This is another solid entry in Wilde’s Atari series and I enjoyed it. Da’red is sweet and honest, like all of the Atari males, and Rissa is hesitant but also honest with herself. Other than some jarring scene changes, this one is well written and doesn’t rely too heavily on miscommunication as a plot point. Wilde says there’s more so I’ll keep an eye out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this 4 book series because it seemed more in touch with how beautiful someone could be without physical perfection. Living in the lower levels on new earth sort of reminds me how our own society worships the elites in our own world. The richest, the most beautiful, the powerful. As a society, whether we admit it or not, turns aside from the very poor, the homeless and disabled as though their lives are invisible, undesirable. So yes, these were love stories like a fairy tale. But they were meant to share hope that the invisible could be seen and loved.
This one is my least favorite of the series. The premise is good. You have a prince who desperately wants to be seen as himself instead of just as a prince and a woman who has to trust him without actually seeing him.
I just didn't feel like there was anything else to Da'Red except that he wants a mate and he hates his father. I guess I wanted him to fall in love with Rissa as a person, but her whole personality is that she is strong for enduring so much. I think the author tried to make her blind but not helpless, but having her fall for Da'Red almost felt like Stockholm Syndrome to me.

I enjoyed this whole series so much. These books are easy reads, finishing them usually in about a day. I absolutely love the MMC’s devotion to the FMC. I love how the author made these books about people with disabilities. I just love them so much.
I love this sweet gentle couple so much. I love how smart Rissa is and her strong belief in her Atari. I wish we got a better description of Bee (I had a hard time visualizing him) and I honestly wish he was a bigger character. I really loved this book and series and wish so badly that it didn’t end!!!
Great ending to the series! I really appreciate how the author highlighted different disabilities and the ways in which those affected cope with it. I thought that Rissa may be the bravest of all the women. I can’t imagine not being able to see and being in that situation. Da’aren was a lovely character with lots of layers. I loved Bee. He was a great side character and I just want to cuddle him. I liked the reunion with the other women too. That was nice way to round out the series.
Really wanted to love this one as I'd really enjoyed the other three and all of this author's other books. I'm not sure why this one didn't feel the same, it just fell a bit flat compared to the last three. Didn't feel the connection between the two main characters and they didn't feel as fleshed out. I thought I'd enjoy this one the most with the whole prince thing and wanting to be loved for himself and not his status.
It’s still great but it’s more about their bond and coat intrigue than adventure. I loved Rissa and Da’red but the book was just less exciting and tension filled than previous books. The author is still a one click purchase for me as all her books have great plot and world building and the romance never disappoints
Clarissa is left in a filthy dungeon with her secret to her still living when she is hauled out to go to a new owner. The undercover Prince of Atari catches her when she stumbles and is besotted.
I couldn’t put this down once I started. Great series. Rissa proved to herself that she could make it with her disability. Da’red saw how strong she was. He knew that she was his and he did everything in his power to protect her. Great read.
The thing I love most about this series is that the women find happiness despite their disabilities (strengths 🙂). Even at the end of the books, they find happiness and acceptance just as they are.
https://www.amazon.com/Guarding-His-M... I loved this one. Great tension, unique characters, well-rounded ending and growth, interesting world and conflicts. Def going to go back and read more from this author.
I absolutely loved these books, so well written. From the very beginning I was drawn in and couldn't put it down. I read all four books in two days! I love the way the author writes and I love the Atari heros.
New Earth tried to brake them then threw them away. Bad move. They found the best when they were at the lowest. Wonder stories of loss and fear change to love and strength!
I read all 4 and I want more of these Atari!! Very hot and very exciting!! I loved every one ! You brought the characters to life and I hope you write more of these fated mates!! You have a new fan now!! Thank you for a great read!!
I loved this whole series so much I'm sad that it's over. I loved how strong rissa was. Being blind didn't stop her at all even when things go wrong she always seems a step ahead. Loved it.
I liked the book but I thought the hero made some very dumb decisions. He didn't really protect her from his dad or other women who wanted to be his queen.
The heroine is blind and does not let her disability define her.
This is a story about two people that fate has brought together. They are seeking something that they cannot see. They can feel it, smell it and sense it. That brings them together. Well worth reading.
