A magical destiny to embrace in this enchanted third installment in the Fated Saga.

In the land of the Goblin King, magic is strictly forbidden! Nevertheless, this does not stop Colin Jacoby from using the Magicante as a smoke screen while he searches for his missing dream girl, Catrina Flummer.

At the same time, his mind reading twin sister, Meghan, is mortified to learn she will be working alongside the Svoda’s newest Initiate, Ivan Crane, on a quest for Juliska Blackwell. She knows their journey will be fraught with peril, but also feels confident that Ivan and Meghan will work well together, as Firemancer and Initiate… to retrieve something the Goblin King has stolen. Moreover, if this stolen item is not recovered, the magical world will once again be on the verge of doom.

Through extenuating circumstances, Colin, Meghan and Ivan, along with a few more unexpected guests, journey into the magical realm of the Goblins only to make a forced retreat, with the entire Goblin army following in their wake!

Can they make it back in time to sound the warning? Will they be able to dethrone the Goblin King?

A new magical power just might make it possible for one of the twins. But will this new power also be their undoing? Leading them down a dark path where the only outcome is death!

Book number 3 in the Fated Saga! A young adult fantasy novel.
Book three starts with a dark vision of the future which gives a hint as to what happens at the end of the book.
We're a year into the the main characters the twins story and they've grown up a bit and learnt that they each have a different type of magic. They learn that the leaders of the Svoda Gypsies have been keeping secrets from them and uncovering one of them leads to the separation of our twins.
Still some nice funny moments but as the twins get older the story gets darker. It's really easy to get lost in their story.

Ok I got the first in this series for free not realizing it was a series and read it, well it was good enough to read on so i bought the set of book I-II , of course I could not stop there and went on to book 3 I have yet to be disappointed and am looking forward to steppiing into book 4 and so on. Though I have enjoyed other series it is a rare thing for me to get into one. This series caught me off guard and I am glad it did the author is wonderful with allowing your imagination to run away with the book and its characters. I would truly recommend this book to any avid ready of magic, gypsies, or other worldly beings it truly is a great series.

Twins Colin and Meghan are still at school on a faraway planet, learning how to use their magic powers. In this volume Colin has a girlfriend most people don't see. She's believed to be dead. Is she really a ghost, or has she been enchanted to seem like one for security? Readers are free to speculate, at least in this volume. Meanwhile Meghan is assigned to work with an older boy no one else likes much, and he doesn't seem to like her either. We know he's going to be a good man and magic user, though, because although he's old enough to molest Meghan there's no hint that he ever considers it.

A point I should clear up: I received the e-book versions of only some of the novels in this twelve-volume series. The titles of the e-books appear as subtitles on the printed books.

What's not to like: Although the characterizations are nicely done, the plots of these books expand so that you really need to read the whole series for full enjoyment, and one volume that I received totally put me off, too. And although I like the idea of teenagers learning that it's possible to work with people of the opposite sex, in the real world I think everyone would object to a thirteen-or-fourteen-year-old girl spending a lot of time alone with a seventeen-or-eighteen-year-old boy.

Fated Saga #3
Embrace
Rachel Humphrey - D'aigle, Humphrey Quinn

The book half completed and I haven’t begun a review. I’m slipping. The twins at the centre of this fantasy are magical creatures who got spirited away to a parallel universe with their friend Jai and come to live with his family. Their adventures continue.

And somehow I finished this book without marking it finished here or completing my review. Embrace here seems to mean death. The twins engage in parallel adventures they manage to survive. The series has 3 more volumes I’ll take a break from finishing.

Book 3 in the series. Once more the gypsy tribe has relocated. This is a stand alone book, while they can be read in any order, you will get more out of the story by reading them in order (you also avoid any possible spoilers.) Intrigue and Romance have provided some extra twists to the plot line. I enjoyed the story.

It is a nice tween or preteen series. Sometimes I had a hard time following the story and understanding the settings. The dialogue was mediocre. I didn't enjoy this one as much as previous ones.

The Jacoby twins have spent a year with the Svoda, and have travelled with them to a new hiding place, they were now living in caves in the Eidolon Valley where they were told that magic use was forbidden. Their fourteenth birthday was due but both Colin and Meghan had too many things on their mind to give this any attention. Meghan to her horror, had been chosen by Ivan Crane to be his learner companion, and had moved to study with the Bannon herself in her castle. She and Ivan were to go on a mission into the forbidden valley as the initiation test set for Ivan by Juliska. In the meantime Colin was still connecting with his silver haired girl who he saw being kept in a cave in a glass coffin and asking for his help. He decided to try to find her and found help from Old man Tibbit who lived in the closet with the Mochrie's. The twins against their uncles' good advice were keeping secrets from one another and blocking their minds to each other, so were very surprised to come across one another in the forbidden valley. Danger abounds in this book which at times is quite heart stopping, can Colin keep Catrina safe and hidden? Whilst the magic powers of the Svoda were on the wane, Colin's was becoming extremely powerful, so much so that he managed to do something unimaginable but which saved many lives. Meghan however was still struggling to decipher her visions and to control her firemancer powers. A war breaks out between the goblins led by Eidolon, the goblin king himself, the Scratchers and the Svoda who are once again forced to flee for their very lives with nowhere to run to! I love this series so much, it is getting darker the further we read, but I find I cannot have enough of the twins adventures and cannot wait to start reading the next book.

Argh! This series just builds up on secrets, and undiscovered mysteries! I want to know who the Projector is, though I'm thinking it's Colin, because he's more powerful than anyone else and was the only one able to save Catrina. Then I want to know who the bird-man is. He told Nona he couldn't reveal his name. Then I want to know who their Uncle Eddie really is! At the end of book two, it revealed he wasn't Uncle Eddie, so who is he? Is he good or bad? I'm suspicious whether Juliska Bannon is good or bad .Eidelion (pardon me if the names aren't spelt right. I can't remember how they were spelt.) said he wasn't the one that made the rule of no magic in E Valley, so maybe the Bannon made it. Where did the Magicante come from? How is it able to know every spell in the world? Who is Colby? Does Ivan have a crush on Meghan, or does he hate her so much that whatever she fails in, he finds it amusing. Who is Catrina?
Oh my gosh! These aren't even all the questions I have. Out of all three books; Awaken, Shifting and Embrace, I feel that Embrace was the best. It was the most exciting of all the books.

Growing up in a strange land

In this book the twins are each on their own mission Meghan as a trainee to become initiated and collan in search of the girl in the glass coffin that haunts his dreams.
Going through the forbidden valley Collin grows and matures in ways NOBODY was prepared for upon his return with his rescued girl, catarina.
Meghan meanwhile has to travel the valley floor with the one gypsy she loathes the most ,Ivan. Ivan has no qualms about letting her know she is there only because he needs here for her talent and that they will not be friends.
I n the end Jane their friend and the son of the family the twins now live with ,Ivan,Collin Meghan and a invisible catarina are all fighting the scratchers and goblins while their queen tries to keep a barrier up and send her people to safety in limbo. Will they make it will they defeat the goblins who will ever figure a way to destroy the undestroyable scratchers before they wipe out the gypsies completely. Definitely recommend this book to follow the others in the series and to anyone who is a Lord of the rings fan or Harry potter would enjoy reading this series.

Loved the goblins.

In this book we see the two twins setting out on a quest. Book 3 is probably my favorite in the series so far, proving that the story just keeps getting better.

My only wish (and I reiterate this is a personal thought), is that the characters would at the end of teenagerism, rather than at the beginning, then it could appeal to adults as well as the younger end. Because they are so young, their thoughts and conversations are obviously a bit on the immature side, which might put a few adults off who come across the books.

Don't let this put you off though, these kids are having amazing adventures as their magical skills mature. They're going through many difficulties and overcome them so the story moves on in a realistic way. Well, as realistic as you can get in a world full of goblins and magic.

Meghan and Colin were now situated in a dry dusty valley, along with their magical gypsy friends.
They weren't supposed to be using magic here, although the very lack of the feeling of magic was also a deterrent.
Life goes on, and a quest for part of the initiation into the group for the detested Ivan Crane, who also has Meghan's involvement as his nominated team companion.
In the meantime, Colin locates the silver haired girl and is determined to go to her aid.

In this 3rd book of the Fated Saga, we learn a little more about the split between the groups of the Svoda. Meghan, Colin and their group go to the Eidolon valley where Megan must accompany Ivan on a quest and Colin seeks the elusive Catrina who only he can save. This book still has some grammatical errors - does the author have an editor? - but is an exciting adventure and a fun read.

Not as eventful as the second book, but that was due to its reduced length. Enjoyable so far, but the grammar and spelling mistakes are still extremely distracting, even if there are fewer of those. I'm starting to warm up to Ivan and am quite curious about Catrina. Hoping the next one is more brushed up.

I really liked the fated saga series. To be honest the first book was just alright but I strongly suggest giving this series a chance. The story gets much better in the 2nd and especially the 3rd books. While the series was written for a younger generation, it is still a great read for adults too. I would recommend this series to fantasy fans and especially if you enjoyed Harry Potter.

Slightly disappointed with the amount of errors (which are far more frequent in this installment than its predecessors) to the point where I found myself thoroughly removed from the plot.
That being said, this book continues Colin and Meghan's story well. The ease of which a reader can fall into their heads and into the story still far outweighs the imperfections in the text.

Secrets and revelations

Colin and Meghan have been warned not to keep secrets from each other but without guidance they turn inward and block each other. Will they survive the paths they are set upon or will some force bring them together?

More mysteries come their way as more glimpses into what is yet to come are gained.

I think this series is getting more confusing with each book. I have absolutely no idea who is good and who is bad in this series, therefor I definitely want to read the next book in the series and probably the rest of the books in this series as well, because I doubt things will get clearer in the next book.

Finally finished the book. It was a very boring read, one that I had to struggle not to put down. The last 3 chapters were the actual story and it was well ended. Needless to say I cannot wait to read the next one.

Great series! Very entertaining. Although this series is written for the younger generation, readers of all ages can enjoy it and be entertained. I wish the books were longer, but have thoroughly enjoyed them.

The third in the series. As with the first two books, the plot is intriguing, but the characters are sometimes 2-dimensional. I would have given this 4 stars except for the typos and grammatical errors that are rather jarring.

3rd book in and not as good as the first. It seems to be a bit boring at times. I find myself skipping whole paragraphs...this goes for book 2 also. I'm wanting to read the whole series, but not sure I will make it through all of them. About to start fated saga book 4.

The story continues

Addictive. A great saga. 8 books total. Can't wait for the next installment. Hard to put down. There are a few grammatical errors, but they do not make any notable impact on the story. Off to read the next installment. Yeah!
