Akashic Records: Case Studies of Past Lives

Rate this book
In this riveting book the past lives of over thirty different people, covering scores of different lifetimes, are stunningly narrated. These lives span the course of several hundreds of thousands of years on Earth, and allow the reader glimpses into long-lost civilizations of which we have no historical record. These lives are recounted so that the reader can learn and grow from the experiences of others. But why even learn about our past lives? Is it not enough to just keep up with this one? Here is why.

It behooves us to learn who we really are. All the lifetimes we have add to the sum total of who we truly are, and why we do the things we do. What is the source of that phobia, or your instant love or hatred for that person you just met? Exactly why were you "born this way?" What are your hidden talents? Are you fascinated with Samurai swords or baking pastries for a reason? Do you cringe at the thought of visiting a certain location but don't know why? Just learning about these forgotten memories has a healing effect on us; body mind and soul. Hearing about other peoples past lives heals us as well!

This book also explain how several of Lois' clients originally came from different star systems and became a part of the reincarnation cycle on Earth - some by accident, some by choice.

Some of the past lives reviewed occurred in the context of a BodyTalk, Psych-K or EDINA energy medicine session, but most are formal Akashic Records readings. In the formal readings, from four to six past lives are covered for each individual, along with the reasons for knowing about that past life. The clients repeatedly observe that the readings explain a plethora of things about themselves or their relationships which they had always found puzzling.

The loving presence of the Guardians of the Akashic Records is felt throughout the pages of the book.

The changes that occurred in the clients' lives as a result of having the readings are also noted. Past life readings have within them the inherent possibility to heal the client not only at a Soul level, but the individual personality who is getting the reading - emotionally, physically and spiritually. They do not simply impact the current lifetime, but other lives as well - past, present parallel lives and future lives.

Author Lois Wetzel says, "We are each Immortal Beings who come to Earth again and again to experience life in various bodies for the purpose of growth, expansion and learning as Souls. It is my hope that the reader will take from these past lives of others the deep understanding that our past lives are part of the complex web of everything that we are. Unresolved issues from our other lifetimes are still impacting us today. When we learn about them, we automatically begin to heal."

"Hopefully," Lois says, "one day all healers including psychologists and psychiatrists will consider past life therapy, the ongoing journey of the Soul, as a crucial piece of the healing process. After all, the word psyche does mean Soul."

I won this book for free through Goodreads First Reads and I am so grateful to have it.

Ms. Lois Wetzel leads us on a journey of past lives in special circumstances and people who experienced them again. Through this book the reader truly gets to be apart of life journeys with her clients ( and herself) that make you wonder what it is that you may have left behind. Each life is vivid and real for the reader. Each story makes you feel like connecting with an old friend. This book is wonderfully amazing and I defiantly recommend it to anyone with an interest in studying past lives. I can't thank Ms. Wetzel enough for going through the tough experiences she had to bring us this thought provoking book, and her mission to heal others. I am so grateful to have received this book :)

First, I have to say a BIG thank you to Lois for allowing me to enjoy this wonderful book via a giveaway here on goodreads.

I have always believed in past lives and reincarnation. I resonated with this book so much while I read about other people's experiences with their past lives. As I read each person's individual readings I remembered parts of how I am always called an old soul and how I have a HUGE wrinkle on my forehead at 20 something years old. I cannot help but think they are connected.

There was one life in the book I was particularly resonating with as I read it. It was Sonia's story. The reason I resonated with it so much is because, like her I am very hard on myself and often beat myself up if I mess something up. I also have unresolved feelings for someone and I cannot help but wonder if this person and I were connected in a past life. I am very happy that I got the privilege to read this book and begin to better understand the idea of past lives and what we can all learn from them. I look forward to possibly getting a reading someday, and as a Reiki practitioner I wonder if I am meant to help others understand why they feel what they do in this life or about their own past lives.

Lois, I am not sure if you will see this but I am so grateful to you for this book and it is one that I will keep with me forever. Brightest Blessings.

One of the things that stuck with me after reading this book was this: How often we draw incorrect conclusions from circumstances in our lives that prevents us from our full expression of a life's purpose. This book is a collection of case studies from a woman who reads people's Akashic Records. It is a little voyeuristic because you are reading the most personal and private lessons of a soul's journey. I admit, that is part of the fun of reading this. But it has also helped me see how myopic a soul can be when it is in the third dimension. We can draw ego-centric or fear-based conclusions on soul lessons and have to work them out again in another time and place, or we can approach lessons with balance and humility and succeed.

I'm not going to go into the believe-ability of this book. I believe the author has a talent and sees what she sees. How or why is not really the point. It is also clear she doesn't really care if you believe her or not. She doesn't go out of your way to prove that what she saw was true or whether or not it significantly changed the person's life who she was reading for. She says many times that this is not a party trick. I did not read this to have the Akashic Records proven to me. I read it to see what kind of lessons this book held for me in this lifetime. I appreciated it.

I'm only a third of a way through this book so far and I have already decided it's the most amazing book I've ever read... the vivid details of the incredible past lives recounted in this book are more interesting than any movie I've ever seen... and the coolest part is that they are real people's past lives. I can't even begin to imagine what my past lives must have been like.

I found some of the case studies compelling and they spoke to me on a soul-level. I thought it was interesting and well-written, rich with details...but, perhaps almost too rich to where it came off as more fantasy rather than factual case studies. I found a few of the past lives to be VERY far fetched: the humanoids on spaceships; the prehistoric sea creature that swallowed the girl whole but she lived in its stomach for two days; the half human half fish (mermaid?) That worked with the ancient egyptians. They sounded more like folklore rather than actual past life recounts. I am a firm believer in reincarnation and believe in past lives, so im not doubting that....im more doubting the authenticity of the "case studies". Forgive my skepticism, if she really is this gifted, it would be nothing short of incredible, but i have my doubts. That said, read it. It'll hold your interest if youre looking for a book of case studies on reincarnation(i was).

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway a few years ago. I had started it and got maybe a third of the way through it when I put it down and went on to something else. I'm guessing it wasn't the right time or my right frame of mind to read this book at that time. I picked it up again recently and had no trouble following it or finishing it. I found the past life readings, healings and, energy medicine so fascinating. The reader has to have an open mind when reading this book. I would love to get my own past life readings to see if it will help me break a particular cycle of behaviour and perhaps help with my TMJ as well. This book is written/transcribed from recordings of readings done by Lois J Wetzel, MFA with the permission of her clients. I mention this so as to prepare the reader for how the book is laid out. A wonderful glimpse into the cosmos and interesting lives of some everyday people in our world.

To describe this book as fascinating would be an understatement. One of the best books I've ever read. Lois Wetzel was gifted with the ability to read the Akashic Records and was able to give incredibly detailed descriptions of important past lives for her many clients. If you are interested in past lives, don't miss this book.

Book lacks cohesion from one case to the next. Has no soul. There's no reason to read this without a narrative. DNF @ 25%.

I read about half of this book. I just didn't find it that interesting after reading Brian Weiss MD and other better books and authors about past lives.

Upon reading SOME of the book and seeing the film "Cloud Atlas", I became very interested in the idea of reincarnation and past lives. This book was on Kindle for a reasonable price, so I started my journey into the subject here.

I'd say this is a really excellent primer to the concept of past life readings. The author lays down the basics of what she looks for when doing past life readings and what we should expect from having such a thing done to us. (Something that I'd now be very eager to experience.)

What follows Ms. Wetzel's opening chapters are some thirty past life readings.

These are fascinating.

She explains that these lives can be from the future OR from the past and that all of our lives are actually existing at the same time! The linear aspect we as humans seem to view them through are illusions of time and space. This was really astounding and eye-opening to me, though I'd read similarly themed things in the past.

There is plenty to experience in this book, as Ms. Wetzel explains to her clients what possible implications past lives have had on their present ones in reference to fears, habits, relationships, etc.

If you are at all interested in the subject of past lives, this a definite must-read.

This book was fascinating! Even if you don't want to believe in past lives, you will enjoy the many different stories set in vastly differing times and places. Through her client's past lives, Lois demonstrates situations they were in and the choices they made at the time. Some choices were right; others were wrong and changed the planned course of the soul's life (eg, running away from love due to insecurities and false beliefs). Others "drew the wrong conclusion" at the moment of death, which then had repercussions on future lives (eg, things always go wrong when I am leading, so therefore, I shouldn't ever lead). There is much to ponder about and many lessons to learn. One such lesson is to go with your gut feeling, as it's probably your soul trying to direct you. Another is to not follow someone in authority if you think it's a bad move (in battle, running out in front of the enemy to sure death; a German soldier who defected when he realised exactly what was going on in the concentration camp he was working at). I hope she writes another collection of past lives as they are very entertaining and enlightening.

Delight and disappointment

I rated this book four stars because it was well written and captured my imagination. While reading I was compelled to carefully review my own life and consider the consequences of my actions. I found this valuable and comforting. What I was not comfortable with was the first person narrative of the readings. There seemed to be an assumption that the reader would understand the various deities and expectations. I was often at a loss. If you are looking for interesting story telling you will like this book. If you are looking for answers, I think you will be disappointed.

I found the book to be quite interesting, with all of the case studies of past life readings that Lois has done for her clients and how it helped them to heal and/or deal with issues in their current lifetime. I had trouble putting it down most times. This book has me wanting to have someone do a reading of my own past lives.

I usually like reading these types of books about past lives etc. This one did not have much in the way of proof and the readings were vague and uninformative. Gonna pass on this one. Got about a third of the way through.
