Aged Perfect

Rate this book
Genevieve met Sam Tennant, a famous - and much younger - actor, at a comic convention where he was promoting his show. Sam was drawn to Genni, who already had a massive crush on him. One thing leads to another and they begin an affair, but then Sam shocks her. He has two weeks holiday, and he wants to spend it with Gen.
Still worried about the age-gap, Gen nevertheless is quickly besotted with Sam; but how will people - and the media - react, when they see the hottest star on television with a woman old enough to be his mother?

Former high school teacher and university lecturer, Suze E Prescot (aka Essey Nelson) has lived and worked in Lancashire (according to its original boundaries) her whole life.
She loves cats and horses, and is, in fact fond of all animals. She loves reading, often reading five or more stories a week. She has no fave type of story, and her bookshelves boast detective and mystery, crime and spy, science fiction and fantasy, and plenty of humour. From Shakespeare, Austen and the Brontës, to modern indie authors, if its well-written, she will read it.
Despite her catholic tastes, she tends to write romance, and will happily argue that most fiction falls under that banner.
Her heroes are strong and wonderful men - on the inside at least! While her heroines are intelligent, capable, yet often naïve and pure whatever their age.

Geneviève and Sam are my new favourite het couple. With less sex than the first book, we see them come up for air and solidify their bond while the world comes to terms with their unconventional relationship (in tabloid headlines, no less).

And on to book three...

I absolutely love this story! Aged Perfect is a continuation of the trilogy that started with Age Perfect.
This is Sam and Gen's love story. I just sighed while writing this review. I LOVE, Love, love this story because it is a reverse age gap story (older woman/younger man) for us readers 50+.

The story starts out with Gen's two-week holiday to visit a friend and Sam tags along! The holiday ends and Sam asks Gen to stay with him a little while longer, at his home.

Gen finds her backbone and speaks up while they are at a lavish birthday party/media event!! "I am here with Sam; Sam is here with me; we are here together.” I continued, paraphrasing what he had said earlier to Casey. “So we stay together.”

I can't wait for Book 3 BUT will miss their story when it is over.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

I could feel him even though we were not touching, and I was aware of his personal scent; if I thought about that smell, I was reminded by the slight abraded feeling of his presence there, and then I was suffused with a warmth that took me by surprise.

Lord, you’d think I was too old to blush at sixty-four, but apparently I’m not.

Now it was back, and I was going to enjoy every damn minute, however long it lasted.

There’s a reason most romance novels feature wealthy couples, with servants to do the cleaning, the washing, the childcare. Real life is not relaxing enough to devote your time wholly to your lover. To get that time back, with a new lover, is magical; to get it back when you are old enough, experienced enough, to know the dangers of complacency, is a true gift. (yes, 100% yes)

Sam was everything I had ever wanted in a man, despite being so much younger, and I wanted him taking charge.

“Are they insured?” I was a little worried; they must have cost about five thousand dollars. “Ask Sam,” Trish said, “he bought them for you.” (this just made me melt)

“On yer knees, lassie.” He said, firm and low, and his voice - and the command - sent shivers down my spine."

" . . .although some people may think it’s weird, I wanted him to take me wearing the tuxedo."

“Only me, gealach,” he was staring at me intently, “only me.”

Now that I have finished writing this review, I now want to go back and Re-Read their story.

Beautiful! The second book in this series is another winner! The author gives you a wonderful story that pulls you further into the lives of Gen (Genevieve) and Sam and does not let go. Gen and Sam's story is an epically passionate age-gap romance with insecurities and plenty of spice. Gen and Sam's story won my heart over and over. Full of heartwarming tenderness. I highly recommend this book. It's romance deserving of your time. I am looking forward to the 3rd book.

This is the first story I have written in parts. I had an idea for part two, but was unsure where it would take me.
January 2026: Just re-read and loved it!
