I really like this author but this book was a fail for me. The storyline had promise but the excessive, descriptive wording irritated me so much I stopped reading it at 37%. I wanted to finish but just couldn’t get past all the unnecessary wording.

The creepy fog and sense of impending doom had me hooked. The semen-like rain, however, had me questioning whether an umbrella was enough protection. Molly and Neil rescuing kids gave the chaos some heart, but some descriptions dragged. Civilization is collapsing, but we can admire the scenery later. The ending got a little too preachy for me, but the atmosphere and suspense carried it.

This was a re read for me. I remembered it being better. So much description and I love that but I think story actually gets lost in it.
