The crew huddled as if they wished to crawl through the worn deck planks.
He moved only his eyes to look at the dragon, dreading what he might see.
But the dragon wasn’t tearing greedily at the hull or snacking on sailors. Instead, its mighty head moved slowly back and forth over the ship.
Someone has to do something. That someone looks to be me. That realization threatened to freeze his brain again. What do I know about dragons? Fast. Nearly invulnerable killers. They like gold and precious stones. That’s all I know to risk my life and that of everyone here. An impossible task.

Very short almost like a taster.
World building is present but not intrusive.
Interested to learn more about the characters and world enough to start Novel #1!
