Pre-read (7/29/2023): This book is definitely not my normal cup of tea, but I chose to randomize my reading a bit. I scrolled down my GR feed for 8 seconds, landing on my friend Annabelle’s 4 star rating for this book. It’s only 90 pages so even if I don't enjoy the book, this won’t be much of a time waste. Wish me luck, because if this goes well I am gonna do it again. <3
Review (7/29/2023): This was short and dirty. So easy to fall into and fly with. I really ended up liking Jax a lot, his definitely not the picture of my favored book love interests but damn does he deliver. A small critique I have for him is The only thing that was a tad concerning based on the synopsis was that this would only be a one-night stand, which is not what I like… I want my heroines to have a lifetime commitment to an equally committed hero, but this turned out fine. Olivia was a fair heroine, not extraordinary but fine. Also, I just gotta say f*ck Greg the opening chapter made me hate him.
3.25 tatted up stars for 40 minutes of reading.
This does not have much narrative development beyond the spice, but hey it’s 90 pages, be realistic in your expectations. However, I tend to reserve higher ratings for stories that will keep returning to my mind or I am interested in more from the author, which isn’t the case here.

Дуже швидко, гаряче, з крінжовим кінцем😂 Про героїв нам майже не дали ніякої інформації ні про їхнє минуле, ні про них як особистостей. Зате, я дізналася, що вони класно трахаються, а їхня симпатія з'явилася ще при знайомстві. На цьому все😂 Я розумію, що це новела, але можна було б показати хоча б мінімальне розкриття персонажів.
Сюжету як такого немає, стосунки героїв розвивалися з блискавичною швидкістю, але книга цілком підійде для скоротання вечору з чашкою чаю або кави. Особливого сенсу в ній шукати не потрібно.

це було трохи краще, чим я очікувала, але все одно посередньо.
можна відкинути зауваження щодо кількості сюжету, описів та прописаних головних героїв, бо це новела. все йшло стабільно, сцени 18+ непогані, але в кінці зловила кринж. мені, особисто, епілог конкретно зіпсував враження. реакція – фейспалм.
3/5, як на один раз прочитати заради різнобарв'я – годиться.

5 Greedy Stars!
The chemistry was overflowing in this novella. And so is the spice! It's the first time for me to read a work of Rhianna Burwell and I can say she really did amazing in creating characters that have a special appeal and are perfect for each other. I loved the romantic build-up between Jax and Olivia which began as a faint attraction when Olivia first stepped into his tattoo shop while she was still in a relationship with Greg, Jax's the rival tattoo artist who was a jerk.
This novella was straight to point, no messing around when it comes to smut. At the same time, it didn't leave behind the romance. Both Jax and Olivia are likable characters. Jax was the perfect balance of sweet, sexy and intense and that's one of the things I like in an MMC that is a sometimes a miss in romance books.
If you are into quick, easy smutty reads, you might want to read this. :D

I really wanted to like this one. I’ve been forever on the hunt for more Nick and Holly style novellas and getting my hopes up hasn’t really ended well.
The steam scenes were good but the emotions weren’t there for me at all.

I bought this book because I liked the cover design. It’s short, spicy and full of revenge. I give it 3 stars however because the grammar has quite a few errors like the book wasn’t edited by anyone. Also I feel like this story could have been so much more, if more had been written into it I could’ve fallen for Jax. Unfortunately it was mostly just sex and no story.

Rihanna’s novellas diver disappoint but this dual POV novella between Jax & Olivia was perfect. Olivia’s bf just cheated on her & she takes out revenge on a rival In town who gives her the most mind blowing night. I thought Jax & Olivia were so sexy & she was so cute! She was so anxious about her first time with Jax but he put her mind at ease & was so gentle with her while also being rough and possessive.

5/5⭐️ For a novella, you really couldn’t ask for anything more. How the author managed to get me so invested in these characters in just 92 pages is honestly impressive. 24 highlights for a novella is honestly embarrassing but I just couldn’t help myself!! Justice for Jax & Olivia, they deserve a book!! “Greedy” will never be a normal word for me again. Jax is so hot, every word out of his mouth was perfection. Everyone should read this, its so short and easy and honestly just a great time.

But ended up DNF'ing it bc I was bored & annoyed. Months later I pushed through to finish it before reviewing in order to give it a fair chance.

Chapter six should've pretty much been cut completely, it was filler that consisted of useless thoughts in the FMC's head, and just slowed down the pace of a book that honestly had no plot to justify needing inside her head like that.
The entire plot is given in the synopsis. Two rival tattoo artists with shops located directly across from one another. The FMC is dating one of them & when he cheats on her, she goes to proposition the other one. Then naughty times.
Normally, I don't mind a short and spicy novella as a buffer between other books. But there were too many things I didn't care for in this one.
It read like a home-made 🌽 scene that suddenly decided to be a romance at the end. It desperately needed an editor or at least beta readers to clean up the obvious mistakes. There were misspelled words such as "vis versa" and annoying/cheesy phrases such as when the FMC thought to herself "these thoughts out of my pretty little head". Along with the structure issues I touched on, such as pace and believability
To wrap it up, it just wasn't for me. Maybe I'm the wrong target audience bc those in my book groups seemed to enjoy it. Either way, read what makes YOU happy.

Quick, Easy, Spicy Read
If you are looking for a quick spicy read, this is a good option. The characters were quick to like. Pretty stereotypical brooding guy and a nervous younger girl(by younger, I mean she was still in her 20s, but he's in his 30s). I enjoyed it. The first few chapters were all the build-up, and then the spice hit, and it was good. It's not the best spice I've read, but it's still exciting.

Ideal read if you just want something to pass the time or if you are close to the end of your reading goal for the year. Not a bad read but I don't think a full length novel would have held my interest, this was good for what it is, a spicy novella; will it get you all hot and bothered and reaching into the bedside table? Well I don't know, for me personally the spice was around a 3/5, there were definitely a couple of quotes that had me feeling things though 😄
