The reason is simple. Two years ago, I refused to go along with his plan to get fake married.
That’s right. Jameson, my best friend for most of my life, wanted me to agree to be his wife so he could inherit his grandmother’s candy company.
He offered me two million dollars if I promised to say, “I do,” and stay married to him for five years.
When I said, “I don’t,” Jameson cut me out of his life.
I couldn’t lie for money. I can’t lie for any reason, not even if it meant losing the best friend I ever had.
I run into Jameson at the real wedding of our mutual friends. After a few glasses of champagne, we have some choice words for each other.
We started as friends, now we’re enemies, but our story doesn’t end there.
I never thought I’d end up living with Jameson.
But here we are, and it’s becoming harder every day to stay angry with my gorgeous ex-best friend, not fake fiancé, and sinfully sexy temporary roommate
Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.
She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.
Whilst their love and romance, especially their childhood connection, was very sweet the full story fell a little short for me. Could have done without the H sleeping around so much and the numerous mentions of it and the fact that he has a photographic memory and remembers everything in full detail, which he specifically mentions and reminds the h of. That he’d bought her an engagement ring 8 years before but openly fucked about in front of her? Icky. That he knew he left in part because he was so heartbroken she didn’t accept his business marriage proposal, (while she knew he was fucking about!) but still slept about the whole time he was gone. He said at the start of the book that he was an idiot for having so many ons when he was “younger” but admitted he had a ons as recently as 2 weeks before moving back. Honestly that whole aspect of the story was disappointing and kind of ruined it for me. The fact that he could just completely cut out the woman he had been madly in love with and never planned to ever speak to her again was also a mark in the minus column. He really only went back because his grandmother died. We don’t get specifics about her sex life, other than that she was pictured with some guy the year before. He was very jealous which I found extremely hypocritical given he was a major fuck boy.

♦️Trope: Best friends to enemies to lovers, forced proximity
Sinclair Morgan and Jameson Sheppard have been best friends since they were very young children. Unfortunately, two years ago, they had a terrible falling out which hurt them both immensely and they haven’t spoken since. Everyone close to them believes their relationship is meant to be, but it's not until Jameson’s dearly loved grandmother passes away and some sweet meddling from the grave do these two finally face their hidden feelings for one another.
Another great read in this series. Sinclair has been an incredibly fun side character in several other books and it is great to finally read her story. This can be read as a standalone, but best when read in order. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Sinclair got her story and I absolutely devoured it. Childhood best friends, Sinclair and Jameson have been in each others lives through all their ups and downs. But they have a falling out and have not been in each others lives for 2 years. There is alot of hurt with the fallout but Jameson is finally home, temporarily but he is back in NYC. They are not making it easy on each other and constantly arguing and lots of pushback. His grandmother has passed away and her will is in motion. Grandma Denia has quite the rules and stipulations she left to be fulfilled by everyone she loves the most. Him fulfilling his role with his bro at Carden Confectionaries which may be tricky. And........it includes Jameson and Sinclair living together. LOL!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED their story. The candy hearts and just overall inner thoughts is just so sweet and swoony. It was so great to see the Morgan's and their gals. I've always said this but I have so much love and appreciation for how DB intertwines her worlds together. I am so psyched to see more of them, especially and hopefully, Holden and Kalon's story!!!
Jameson and Sinclair thought they would be friends forever. But, Jameson wanted her to marry him so he could take control over his grandmother company. Grandmother told him and his brother that they needed to get married.. Sinclair told Jameson no because she couldn't do it as a fake marriage. So Jameson left for good, his pride was hurt and Sinclair, her heart was broken and they were no longer friends. Now you'll have to read the rest of this story to find out what happens next..... Deborah wrote a awesome story. One of the best reads I've have read in a long time. It's one of those stories that you can't put down that you enjoy reading to the very ending. ENJOY :-)
👵Did Jameson’s Grandmother have plans for him and Sinclair! Absolutely! Grandmother knows best!👵
Sweetheart is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter. I loved this sweet, heated, and intense story of unexpected love! It was a touching, and genuine feel-good love story of two best friends who can't deny their feelings for one another once they cross the line from friendship to lovers! I loved Jameson and Sinclair together and the chemistry between the two is so HOT, once they admitted their feelings for each other!💋
I recommend you put this book high on your wish list. Deborah Bladon does such a fantastic job of making you feel like you are a part of the story
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Sinclair hasn't spoken to her ex bestie in two years. Jameson hurt her with his fake marriage proposal to get control if the family business. The problem is Sin has been in love with him since she was a child. Jameson is back because his beloved grandmother had passed on. Due to het will he us forced to share the penthouse with Sinclair for 30 days. What she doesn't know is that he has been in love with her since they were kids too. The chemistry comes to a boil while they go through the grandmother's boxes. The old feelings start to come alive and they can't help but admit how much they wasn't each other. It us a feel good story about friends to enemies to lovers. You can't help but root for them to find their way back to each other.
Jameson thinks that his best friend Sinclair would marry him so he can take over his Grandmother's candy business. Sinclair refuses because she actually loves him and does not want to be a pawn in the war between the brothers. Jameson figures she would help him out because she is his best friend and would be ok with a marriage on paper. He leaves and travels the world to help keep his Grandmother's dream alive. He is gone for 2 years and he and Sinclair have stopped talking or keeping in touch. When Jameson returns home he finally meets up with Sinclair and find out his brother is divorced and Sinclair has to move in with him in the the former home of the grandmother for 30 days. During that time Jameson and Sinclair both find many memories that they had forgotten. We find out that Jameson wanted to marry Sinclair years before and he bought her a ring when he was 17. He never gave it to her as her was not sure she loved him.. The memories give them a second chance to find each other again. Also the brothers are forced to work together to make the candy business a success world wide.
This is the 3rd book in the Morgan's of NY following Sinclair Morgan and her childhood friendship/ love story with Jameson, heir to the Carden candy company. Both harbor a secret crush on each other, but two years ago their friendship ended with Jameson storming off when Sinclair wouldn't accept his marriage proposal in order for him to gain the candy company CEO title.... But a wedding of a former classmate brings them back together and forces them to face past hurts. Sweet love story with heat!... Love the guest appearances of past characters that Bladon is known for in her stories!
Another stunning cover, I'm always excited to see where the next inter-connected New York love story will come from and this time it was another Morgan from Manhattan. To be more specific Sinclair Morgan, who has not seen her best friend Jameson in two years after he proposed a fake marriage and she turned him down. Now that his grandmother has passed, he is back in New York and there is a surprise in store that neither ever expected.
I adore the friends to lovers trope and this definitely fit the bill. Jameson and Sinclair have known each other since birth and there was always chemistry, they just never acted on it. Now their forced close proximity pushes them to test the boundaries of whatever the next chapter in their story will be. I really enjoyed their journey.
Jameson and Sinclair in love since they were kids only they didn’t know what love was at the time, so they were just were just Best Friend. They did everything together, grade school, high school, family vacation. He loved her then even bought a ring for her at age seventeen. But when he finally asked her to marry him, she said no. They didn’t see each other for two years. His return was under terrible circumstances, but it bright them together again. Excellent story I managed to do it without spoiling it. Lol
I enjoyed Jameson and Sinclair's story from beginning to end. Ms Denia was a very wise and loving woman. She did a wonderful work putting these two people back together. It was nice to catch up on Derk and his adorable daughter, Arielle and Dominic and others from some of Ms Bladon's other enjoyable books. I hope Holden finds his true love soon. Doborah does not just write happy ending books, her books are about life and purpose. Thank again for giving me a pleasant reading experience.
I chose this rating because this was a really great book. I really enjoyed all of the characters. This was a book of differences, expectations, clarification, understanding, kindness, and getting your first love back. I really enjoyed Jameson and Sinclair story. I think the author did amazing job would put in these two characters together. I love the way the best friends when they were kids became lovers and they grew up. This was a really great read, this book was also well written. I recommended this book to all romance readers.
Absolutely sweet beautiful love story of Sinclair and Jameson. Through a misunderstanding and a hurtful episode they are brought back into each other's lives through his Grandmother's will. Love that they had to share a penthouse! love all the family aspects and the friends from other books, it was a sweet beautiful love story of true love and family Absolutely amazing very emotional read I love ! You rock as always Deborah Bladon! Amust read for all !!
Having read all Deborahs books, I would say this (Morgan series) is the weakest, gone are the bad boys with a bit of edge and mystery about them and now they are all too sweet and everything works out perfectly. In past books there has always been a twist where you didn't think the couple would get together but recently its all been too predictable. Having written as many books as she has I suppose I'm not surprised, however, they are still very well written but a bit bland and samey.
This is the third book in the Morgan's of NY series. The love story between Sinclair and Jameson is heartwarming and the chemistry between them is palpable. This is a standalone but characters from past books make special appearances and enhance the story, and the attention to detail is impeccable. I recommend this book to those looking for a sweet, steamy love story that will keep them turning the pages until the very end
Another sweet story, this time with Sinclair Morgan in top billing. Jameson and Sinclair have known each other for a lifetime and yet when Jameson asks Sinclair to marry him, he makes such a mess of it Sinclair says no and their friendship is fractured possibly beyond repair.
It can be read as a standalone, but is much better if read in Series order.
I’d love to see if Deborah is going to write about Holden (Jameson’s brother).
My heart was definitely hurting in this one. I truly felt Sinclair’s heart break and her dreams shatter. Jameson was so hurt when she said no but he couldn’t seem to understand why she said no.
Im so glad that their friendship and relationship healed. So sad it took a death and the strong determination of an elder meddlesome grandmother to deal with it all. I wish I had met Denia she seems like a truly amazing and beautiful character.
Wow! Such an awesome story about two people who were best friends and a great misunderstanding tore them apart. Little did each know, that his grandmother had more insight into their lives, than anyone would imagine. A beautiful story, full of hurtful memories, healing, learning to trust and open your heart to all possibilities. Loved this story.❤️
I loved this story about Jameson and Sinclair love story. Childhood friends that had a falling out and were apart for two years. When Jameson came back to New York he and Sinclair were forced together and were able to work things out for their great love story
Felt like we waited forever for Sinclair’s story and it was worth the wait! What o love most is even if you haven’t read a Deborah Bladon book(seriously, you must read them all! What’s wrong with you?!?! 😁), you can read this and get a great story with characters you root for.
SUGAR SWEET One of the best I’ve read from Deborah Bladon. Absolutely sweet beautiful love story of Sinclair and Jameson. Due to a falling out 2 years ago, they are forced back together after Jameson's grandmother stipulates it in her will. Like all of the other of Deborah's books you get to catch up with characters from her precious books.
Keats and Berk little sister Sinclair gets her own story Reconnecting with her former childhood friend Jameson she finds love Although this is not my favorite story of this series Ms Bladon had me mesmerize with Jameson best friend Kalon. His name is strong his family is powerful and he one of 5 siblings I hope with a capital H that she will write a new series for this family
I’ve read a lot of books and Jameson and Sin are one of my favorite couples I’ve read! I love their story!! Deborah wrote both of the characters with perfection. Jameson is so dreamy and Sin is such a beautiful soul! Sweetheart is a must read! 5/5 stars for me!
You can never go wrong deciding to read one of Debora his books!!
Every story is completely different in a good way!! I love Sinclair and Name son's love story and you will too!! I could not put my kindle down!! A definite MUST read!!
This book was one of the best I’ve read from Deborah Bladon. It was so emotional, and not in an angsty toxic way, but just pure beauty and love. Oh my goodness, I just finished and my heart is still pounding over that ending. A million starts for Sweetheart!
Another homerun to add to the collection. I have read every single book Me. Bladon has written and I have yet to be even remotely disappointed! Once again, I got to fall in love with the characters, the story, and the happily ever after!
