Tracey Jerald knew she was meant to be a writer when she would re-write the ending of books in her head on her bike when she was a young girl growing up in southern Connecticut. It wasn’t long before she was typing alternate endings and extended epilogues “just for fun.” After college in Florida, where she obtained a degree in Criminal Justice swearing she saw things she’ll never quite believe and never entirely forget, Tracey traded the world of law and order for IT. Her work for a global internet startup transferred her to Northern Virginia where she met her husband in what many call their own happily ever after. They have one son. When she’s not busy with her family or writing, Tracey can be found in her home in north Florida drinking coffee, reading, training for a runDisney event, or feeding her addiction to HGTV. I haven’t read all of T. Jerald’s releases, but a few. Her writing style is solid and gripping. Usually, her stories deal with strong and tough topics. I was so surprised this release was a lighter one (compared to her previous ones)! And even more when I found out that there were two stories in one book!
Two couples, each one had its own story. Two bff pastry chef ladies and two brothers, who found their hea through their wonderful and emotional journeys.
As well as the beautiful romantic element in both stories, forgiveness and moving on were also explored, along with the possibility of achieving your dreams through faith and hard work.
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this story and these characters are. I fell in love with Trina and Jonas from the beginning and cheered them through all of the ups and downs, including the cheesy food puns.
A great story line, amazing characters, a set of adorable twins, a sassy bestie and a family made up of the very best people. I felt every emotion and the story read like a Hallmark movie that I would watch over and over again.
Elle and Julian meet at Trina and Jonas's wedding rehearsal and at first site they knew they were each other's destiny. But their HEA needed a little more work.
Elle's life is upended when a windfall drops in her lap that makes her question what she really wants out of each aspect of her life. Julian and Elle have been living a life of indifference and it was sweet when Julian realized that he also needed to follow his heart or be heartbroken. It was sweet with just a smidge of angst.
Both stories are the type of story that will leave you with a smile on your face and faith in your heart that all your dreams can come true.
The Ultimate Challenge is a fun, loving story with two great female characters, Trina and Elle. And those Rice brothers… don’t we all want a man like Jonas or Julian at our side? You will fall in love with them, guaranteed.
This book is well written and makes you go through a lot of emotions at once. You will feel the struggle because of the past and the way love will make Trina, Jonas, Elle and Julian look at themselves differently. But despite their past, they have so much love to give, to each other as lovers, as friends and as (bonus)partners to Trina's children. There are a lot of funny scenes when it comes to those children. The Ultimate Challenge is a great story to enjoy.
A double hit of emotion, swoon and all the feels! Trina and Elle's stories we so heartwearming and enjoyable to read! They were hit head on with the Rice twins and I am so here for it. Trina and Jonas made me laugh, swoon want to eat all the yummy deserts! Elle and Julian were a whirlwind of emotion and breath stealing love and devotion. I loved that the 2 stories, while separated in their own ways, tied together beautifully. Tracey has such a way with words and digging deep to connect with her characters. What a wonderful read!
Sugary-sweet, but worth the calories. There were times you could argue that things were a little too syrupy, but honestly at the end of the day these stories were full of love, family, and happily ever after. I read through this book in no time, but I really fell in love with the characters. The guys were actually my favorite. The girls were perhaps a bit over the top, but they balance their men so well that you don't care. Overall, this was a wonderfully quick read and perfect for someone who wants to feel like they are overflowing with love.
I am a big fan of this author. Her stories are funny, heartbreaking and filled with passion. I also love her strong female characters and the men that love them. This book is like getting two fantastic stories in one. I didn't know that when I started so win, win!! If you haven't read a Tracey Jerald, why not??
This book is filled with page after page of journey and growth. I love the relationships friendship and family and the connections to strong to ever be broken. The chemistry of each couple is undeniable.
Trina Paxton & Jonas Rice Meet when his review of the restaurant she works in gets mixed up with a bad review. As he comes to apologize to the head chef, Jonas overhears Trina’s berating and subsequent termination.
Determined to make things right, Jonas comes up with a challenge. Along the way, he and Trina develop a friendship with sparks that they eventually act on.
There is a lot of drama in this romance, some of it not directly related to Trina and Jonas, but it impacts their relationship.
But I did enjoy the story, the chemistry, the sub characters and how Trina and Jonas help each other to overcome adult and childhood traumas.
Rising to the Challenge and the Ultimate Decision are the two books contained in The Ultimate Challenge. In Rising to the Challenge,Trina and her best friend, Elle, have been crushed to find their partners Peter and Erik in bed with each other. Shocked is an understatement, but it certainly changes their lives forever. Trina is pregnant with twins and she and Elle pack their things and head toward a new life in New York City. Trina's an executive chef and it's not long before she becomes the rising star which brings her in contact with Jonas Rice, a widely-known food critic. They have an instant connection and he, amazingly, falls in love with her twins. Their story is cute and packs a punch. The Ultimate Decision is a story about Jonas' brother, Julian and Trina's best friend, Elle. They met right before the wedding and it was plain to see that they fit together. Their story involves finding the ability to fall in love without wasting time. The highlight of the story was Erik's aunt Rachel and what she does to support Trina and Elle. The ending is perfect for showing what despicable people both Peter and Erik became. It's a happy ending, with a touch of bittersweet.
I absolutely loved Jonas & Trina’s story and Julian & Elle’s story. Best friends falling for twin brothers will having you swooning! The chemistry between both couples could definitely be felt through the pages. The journeys to finding their happily ever afters were beautifully written and that ending was the icing on the cake! Tracey will always be a one click author for me! Her writing always surpasses my expectations.

Such a sweet beautiful story about healing, growth, and second chances. 💙💙 I'd been looking for a book that would put me in my feelings and this one did it. I loved that the H and h were honest with each other, were different yet similar, and took a risk.
Trina & Jonas Trina not only has mad skills in the kitchen doing desserts but she is also an amazing Mum and when one mistake not of her own making almost loses her job she ends up stuck with Jonas the food critic who's work made the mistake. I really liked how real Trina is and how Jonas is brought back to ground by experiencing things with her and they both give you plenty of laughs, touching moments, sadness as well as an envy of the food they eat and oh boy the challenge Jonas gives Seductions for their next review is nail biting!!!
Elle and Julian After meeting right before Trina and Jonas wedding it's insta attraction for Ella and Julian, unfortunately both have things holding them back from taking things to the next level. Just as Elle finds out a women she looked up to has passed and thinks she needs to finally focus on her Julian makes changes of his own. You are kept on tender hooks not knowing if Elle will decide the opportunity her ex's great-aunt Rachel has left her will mean drastic changes to her life or if the chance for her and Julian to spend real time together will allow him to show how much he loves her and her to fully open her heart.
Having these two stories together in one book was fantastic and made for a great binge read filled with laughter, tears as well as hope, love and fighting for love and family is priceless.

This is the first book I’ve read by Tracey Jerald and I really enjoyed both of these stories. She is a great storyteller with amazing characters….you will not want to stop reading until the end. I’m a foodie and a baker so I really loved these characters and the storylines.
Rising to the challenge is the first story in the duet. We are introduced to Trina and Jonas. Trina is a single mom of twins, pastry chef, and her boss is a jerk. A twist of fate gives her a great opportunity …but she’s carrying a heavy weight of trying to be the best mom, make a name for herself along with dealing with her horrible mother. Trina is driven, fiercely protective of her boys, yet a bit vulnerable due to her past relationship.
Jonas is a food critic and loves his job. He’s a good person, is very driven by his work and maybe is a bit cynical. The initial meeting between him and Trina is fantastic! What begins as a business arrangement begins to blossom into more. Jonas true colors come through as he helps Trina navigate through some challenges.
A great read that will give you all the feels and a beautiful HEA.
The Ultimate Decision is based on Julian (Jonas’s brother) and Ella’s (Trina’s BF) story. We meet them in the first book and sparks fly when they meet for the first time.
I loved these two character in the first book - theirs dedication and love to the family/friends. and really enjoyed reading their story.
Their relationship was well established at the beginning of this book and now we watch how they learn, grow and continue to fall in love with one another. A beautiful story with a great HEA.
I really enjoyed this book! The characters are so easy to fall in love with and the storyline will pull you in. You will feel like you are living the story with these characters. This is a must read!
Trina is a single mom and is a beast with desserts. Jonas loves eating and is a food critic. They end up being the perfect duo, their story leads to how Elle and Julian meet leading to their story in book two. Both stories were well written executed to keep me well engaged and not aware of the time. A great story. I received this copy and my spoiler free review is voluntary.
This book was split into two stories and I enjoyed the way she combined the one story into two. Rising to the challenge is the first story in the duet and involves Trina and Jonas. By a twist of fate these two are thrown together and they are exactly what the other was missing in their lives to air them whole again.
The ultimate decision is book two and features Trina’s best friend Elle and Jonas’ twin brother Julian. For these two it was love at first sight. But do they have what it takes to make it happily ever after?
I loved the characters in this one and how they interacted. The bond between Trina and Elle was the type of friendship everyone wants. These two really deserved to have their cake and eat it too. It was cute to have other characters from previous books mentioned. Wonderfully written book that gives you all the feels. Loved the HEA at the end... perfect.
I was given a complimentary copy but voluntarily chose to review
So I was not expecting basically a 2 for 1 stories in this wonderful book! But im here for it and I loved both stories. I loved the characters. Tracey is a fantastic writer I love her words always. The Rice brothers were so good and loving of their women.
Two stories presented as one collection! I have to say after reading the first story about Jonas and Trina I thrilled to continue on to Julian and Elle. I loved both stories and I really felt drawn to all to 4 main characters. The tie bonding Trina and Elle was loving but also devastating. I was glad they had each other and I loved seeing how each woman reacted to the new men in their lives. I also enjoyed the minor mentions of other Tracey Jerald characters and the recipe at the end was sweet!
Fantastic duet! I so loved Trina and Jonas in the first book- their backstory… the love and the angst. The characters are so well developed- I felt drawn to the story from the very first page. Add to that the giggles from the kids and Omg - those puns!!!! Best yet of this book is the second story of Elle and Julian! Just a perfect book!
The Ultimate Challenge by T. Jerald contains two books, Rising to the Challenge and The Ultimate Decision. Trina and Jonas meet under, lets say special circumstances. The singlr mom who works hard to make ends meet and the food critic who nearly destroyed her reputation. An highly entertaing, sweet story about good people who make the best from their circumstances, find a beautiful hea, 4,5 stars. The second story is Eleanor and Julian's book. Eleanor, Trina's best friens and co-worker and Julian, Jonas' twin brother. A delightful read, well written, 5 stars.
