The adventures of Alyric, Paladin of Justice, and Book the half-demon librarian continue in this second book in the Deception and Justice series.

Given the opportunity to regain their lost lives and memories, Book and Alyric must find the three remaining Council descendants who can help them unseal the prison of an ancient and powerful creature. But convincing the marauding grandchildren of the Archdemon Warmonger, finding the lost heir of the ancient Summer King, and seeking out a dragon—one who would rather remain hidden—who resides on the top of a cursed mountain, will not be easy.

Secrets unremembered, an angel gone missing, and a powerful queen who is playing a game of her own, Book and Alyric must untangle the mysteries of their forgotten pasts to better understand the many dangers of their present.

All while the World Tyrant and his followers try to thwart them at every turn…

Again, Fox's Whiteleaf Child scores a five star from me. Love the characters, the lucid and descriptive story telling and fun to cheer for "heroes." Again, I dont leave spoilers but if you are a fan of the genre and want to immerse yourself in some really cool world building and character arcs, Whiteleaf Child... is... for... you.

Highly recommend!!!

This is book two in Kirsha Fox’s Deception series and I loved it even more than the first. This author has a way or writing that keeps me wondering what will happen next without giving me that heart pounding feeling. This fantasy has high stakes, but somehow reads cozy, and I really like it.

Full of characters that, as I learn more about them, I love even more, this series is becoming a staple of mine. I’m very excited to read whatever comes next from this author!

The Whiteleaf Child by Kirsha Fox, the riveting second installment in the series following The Son of Deception, is a masterpiece deserving of five stars. From the first page, I was utterly captivated. This book delves deeper into the enigmatic pasts of Book and Alyric, revealing layers of intrigue while propelling their quest forward with relentless momentum.

Fox’s storytelling is nothing short of mesmerizing. The plot twists and turns like a labyrinth, each unexpected development leaving me breathless and on the edge of my seat. This series has unequivocally claimed its place as my favorite, a crown jewel in my collection.

The character development is simply exquisite, a true chef's kiss. Each character’s growth feels organic and profound, making them even more compelling than before. The world Fox has crafted is not only inclusive but also so richly immersive that it feels as if you’re living the adventure alongside the characters.

For those who, like me, adore the D&D aesthetic, you’ll be delighted to find that the essence of this beloved style remains strong throughout the narrative. The anticipation for book three is palpable, and I find myself eagerly and impatiently awaiting its release.

In summary, The Whiteleaf Child is a triumph of fantasy literature, a must-read that will enchant you from start to finish.
