If everyone read and applied every proverb in this book, life would be a much more wonderful place. Seriously. This book is full of nuggets of truth upon which to build your life. It applies to almost everything you can think of. Every time I read this (and I’ve read it probably a hundred times) I’m blown away by the wisdom and truth of it...
Read Proverbs. Frequently. Then live out Proverbs. Constantly.

The poetry is great. As the word of God it's great and there is much wisdom and common sense in it especially when it was written. If you apply Universal ethics and or modern ideas there are interesting things which might need thinking about. It's attitude to women/ wives is questionable and beating children and servants does not fit -on the face of it - with modern psychology or views on child abuse.

As a young boy my father regular read these with us and they absolutely shaped my outlook and life. We are trying to focus on them with our own children as well (in addition to regular, sequential Bible reading) and hope to go through this book carefully and thoughtfully many times and apply these words of wisdom to our lives. They are crucial to living in this world.

I did not read this book or the KJV - but I have been reading proverbs nonstop since starting my new job. Must have read it 5-6 times by now. Just trying to let it sink in.

Just wise counsel about what the world could be like, if righteousness prevailed. Worth reading with an “imagine if” lense.

15:16 "Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith."

15:23 "A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!"

These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel.

Listen to the words of the wise; apply your heart to my instruction.

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Here are some further sayings of the wise: It is wrong to show favoritism when passing judgment.

Bless the name of Jesus!
