The Wizard Crystals of the Elements have fallen into the hands of Abaddon, forever corrupted and transformed to evil. Abaddon now patiently waits in his northern kingdom for the coming of Saruinkai—the evening when the spirits of Darkness rule the night, and when he will unleash the Crystals' horrific powers against their own elements and sweep destruction across the earth. The Light's hope now lies in the young Nasharin warrior Darshun Luthais—the chosen Guardian, for he alone carries the power to stop Abaddon's black sorcery and end the war once and for all. But to do so he must cross over into Abaddon’s kingdom, and that means destroying the one who guards the border, a Fallen Angelic Throne, the secret to Asgoth's three hundred year Rule and invincibility. Led by the elvish lord Caelestias, Darshun and his companions must seek out and destroy the Throne, encounter a Witch, and a horde of other vile creatures, only to stir up the entirety of Asgoth, coming face to face with them, a battle that will determine the fate of the world.
Book three picks up right where book two left off. Darshun has faced Abaddon and has finally realized the power that he wields. He has finally come to realize that his ego has gotten the best of him and he is heading to Loreladia to meet with the Elvish Lord Caelestias, who will be his new guide to Abaddon's kingdom. With the crystals being tainted by evil the only hope for the Light is for Darshun to destroy the Unholy Altar the power behind Abaddon.
The Dark Queen learns of her sons death by Darshun's hands and her sadness is overwhelming. She begins to feel a change in how she feels about others and we learn who she is and what she is. It appears she was raised in the Light and although the Light is trying to infuse her soul again she is fighting it she is too filled with hate for the King and for Abaddon. Will she eventually give in to the Light? If she does can she assist Darshun in his quest to destroy the Demon King's Altar? The Altar is the only way left to destroy the Dark and Abaddon.
Caelestias leads Darshun, Nayland and Mirabel to the Land of the Elves, the place where Darshun was born. With all the death and violence around him Darshun finds happiness. He is reunited with Kelarin and his sister Minevara. Darshun and his followers must go through Asgoth which is ruled by the Dark Queen a King in order to get to Syngothra the home of Abaddon and his Unholy Altar. With an army of Elves they set out for a what can easily mean their deaths. They must destroy the Sorcerer Valnor's tower, a tower that allows the Sorcerer to see all that approach the King and Queens kingdom. Only by destroying this tower can they get through Asgoth and head on to Syngothra. All this must be done before the Eve of Saruinkai the night that Abaddon will set his evil plan into action, destroying the Earth and all who live on it.
In the meantime, Darshun has completely accepted his role as Guardian and plans to do anything and everything he can to protect the Light. He realizes that his conceit and arrogance caused many deaths, including the death of his Uncle Seth but he has finally learned a valuable lesson. He has convinced himself that in order to fulfil his role as Guardian he must forego marriage and children and put all his energy into his being the Guardian. Does that mean that the vision Kelarin has that they will never be together will come true? It will be a very lonely life for Darshun since a Guardian serves for one thousand years.
This series is filled with so many twists and turns that leave the reader wanting to know what next. We meet a new villan, evil beyond explanation and a traitor as well. Who is he? Where did he come from? I recommend this series to any fan of Fantasy it has it all. I am surprised that this series was not made into a movie but maybe it is in the works, who knows. Right now the journey to save the Light continues and I look forward to the next book.

This is one of those books that has me up till 5 in the morning reading. Once again Baccaro draws his readers into his world and captivates them. This book has it all suspense, mystery, magic, action and blood everything that makes a good story a great story!
This is the best one yet of the series, I found this book to be a non stop thrill ride! Baccaro's characters continue to show depth and growth, which is great. we even get to learn more about some of them, which I always love! This series has the ability to get the reader emotionally invested in it and on the edge of their seat wanting to know will my favorite character make it?
What I really enjoy is how each of these books up right where the last one left off, so the reader doesn't feel like they missed something all of the time is accounted for. The author has a true gift for leading the reader down a path and when you think you have it all figured out, surprise! You don't! I really enjoy that! This is a series that I find myself telling my friends about over and over to get them to read the book. I am looking forward book 4 even more now what is going to happen next?! The suspense is too much!
I highly encourage everyone to read this series, it is amazing and so much fun to read.
* Format: Paper back 348 pages * Publisher: Whiskey Creek Press LLC (July 31, 2011) * Author: J.W. Baccaro * Cover art: My favorite so far, stunning! * Overall rating ***** out of 5 stars * Obtained: I was sent a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
J.W. Baccaro continues with an amazingly strong series. More new characters have been introduced to us and much more has transpired. This is the most exciting, magnetic and intriguing of the series thus far. It has me hooked!
Talvenya finds out her dream has come true and by the hands of none other than Darshun. We also get to learn a lot about Talvenya, how she came to be and who (as well as what) she really is. She is fighting herself because of how and whom she was raised by. The light is trying to take her back. But she is resistant because of all of the anger and hatred she holds deep.
So far this is my favorite in the series. While there is much sadness within. It is evenly balanced with happiness. All of the original characters (that remain) have progressed, matured or gotten stronger from the beginning and all are very impressive in their ways of the light. My favorite part of all.. We get introduced to a dragon! That's right and he is one mighty creature that I'm very happy to see is on the right side :)
This is a great book and number 3 in the Guardian of the Seventh Realm series by Jason Baccaro.
This is the third book of the series I have read and I really like the way the charactors are growing. The storyline and charactors are easy to follow and especially easy to identify with. This is a book/series you can put yourself into the middle of the story. This book is best enjoyed when read in series order but can stand alone.
This book was the best one yet! Parts of it gave me chills! The emotional connection to the characters keeps growing. Wonderful. The only negative thing is the on going problem with the editor. Still finding misspellings and other problems. If you can over look these issues, this book is definately worth the read.
The Coming of the Light part 3 by J W Baccaro is the best yet. I was eating lunch about the time I got to the description of the Witch in cave and thought I was going to barf. I can't wait for part 4 to come out. The Coming of the Light held my attention and couldn't put it down. The author has a great imagination Good Job.
