enjoyed this shorter book. It really laid a good groundwork for knowing how overthinking the past, present, or even future affects your emotional, mental and especially physical health. I also loved how at the end of each chapter the applied Scriptures to relate.
I am happy to have some knowledge on how overthinking affects our lives.
This book offered a lot of insightful information without getting caught in the fluff. Every chapter offered information and it made the book feel like reading through it was such a breeze. Very concise and gives you exactly what it says it would.
If you have anxiety and suffer through anxiety like i do, then this book will provide you with ways in reining in those thoughts.
My anxiety was so bad it was affecting my skin. And sure enough, as I started go read this book, my skin started clearing and I started feeling better.
A very good read and worth reading. If you can get your hands on one, this is one book you should keep in your library.
*It does have some Bible verses in which tbh I wasn't expecting to see in this book. Didn't bother me, but also didn't really add anything to it either other than filler. This would put some people off I think. Also I do think there is a fine line when talking about mental health issues to simplify it with plucked out scripture. This might be helpful for some, but the danger is that it can be seen to be minimising these issues which can do more harm than good.
Excellent book, with explanations, helpful lists, motivation, and God Himself (in Scripture) to verify and encourage you. If you find you just aren't doing this, then Pray and ask God to help you take the little step each day that you need. Just a small step . . .
This book kind of gave me some tips to help with all the intrusive thoughts I get after a tough bad day working in the hospital. It even explains what can cause it and how to work through it. Maybe ill try them. It also gives a few biblical advice and verses to think on.
“Overthinking is a silent killer. “ I felt that sometimes the message was over repeated, at some point I was seriously thinking to stop reading this book. The 11 ways was reduce to only one chapter , to 3 pages . I was hoping for this to be the main topic and to be more explored.
The art of developing a disciplined mind to not over worry or think about what will never happen. The author has an excellent way to transmitting the hope of this message to the readers
This book was okay and I could relate to it a lot as I have a major problem with overthinking and ruminating. There are some good tips on how to work through else and help calm the thoughts. I didn't enjoy the amount of Psalms in the book though.
At no point on the front cover does it state that this is a book with religious quotes in from the Bible. God will not help you to overcome overthinking, YOU need to help YOURSELF. The book itself is mediocre at best.
