This is book 3 and it did not disappoint. The killer and the murders were very mysterious and left me wanting to read more and more. I really enjoy the main characters. Pierce does a great job at revealing just enough of the story to keep it interesting and keep me guessing.
4.75 ⭐️ This series just keeps getting better. I really love how they are exploring so many different types of serial killers. It's very much giving Bones mets Criminal Minds. I'm not gonna lie, I'm happy Laurent isn't around she was a pain. I also love the kinda slow burn that's happened with Jake and Red.
Overall I like the characters. These books are a very quick read. I don’t think I’ll read anymore however. Fiona (the lab examiner) seems to be the only one that has ideas of who to investigate. Jake doesn’t seem to have any ideas even though he is the FBI agent. I wish it was more of a joint effort. It would be more realistic
2.5 These newer series do not seem written by the same person who wrote The Making of Riley Paige. There are a lot less typos and grammatical errors, but the dialog doesn't seem realistic. The main characters in Blake Pierce's books are normally damaged in some way, but all of the main players are in this series. It's too much.
Each book reminds me of an episode of Criminal Minds - you could read it as a standalone because of each individual case but there’s an underlying story you might miss parts of.
