A beautiful end to the story…
First, this is the second part in a two part story. It can be read alone, but you will get so much more by reading Dreaming It To Be first.
Although this is written in third person, it is seen totally from the perspective of Nickie, and set just after the breakup from Kate at the end of the last book.
We hear Nickie’s insecurities, her pain about the breakup, and her anger, especially about the way the breakup happened, and towards the person who orchestrated it. But also we hear the depth of her love for Kate, even through the pain. There is not much of the nature-based writing of the first book set at the lake, but there is much more of the intrusive paparazzi and the soul-searching.
It all ends in the most beautiful scene, a small tear-jerker of happiness.
Very well written with lots of thoughtful descriptions, of places, of people, and of emotions. This happy-ever-after ending makes the whole thing into a very feel good story.
As with the first book, most certainly worth reading.
