Ace of Maids is yet another fast-paced, fun read in the Elite series, featuring a cleaner and the “problem” he’s supposed to fix.
Dash is the latest in a long and distinguished line of professional cleaners; he’s the anonymous guy you call when someone got unalived and it needs to be cleaned up. His double life is a lonely one, so when he gets an invitation to the Anonymous, he’s intrigued. Perhaps there he can meet someone who understands his … lifestyle. And he does. The flirtatious and outrageous Tommy Capelli may come on a bit strong, but there’s definitely something there — but Dash is hesitant. They part ways, and later that night, Dash gets a job. When he gets to the scene, he finds Tommy — a problem who isn’t quite ready for cleanup. Although this is a first for Dash, he helps Tommy, and now they’re both on the run, and maybe in the middle of a mob war? If they can survive, this might just be the start of something real.
This was such a fun read, and at 164 pages, it gave you great background and insight into Dash while still keeping the action moving along quickly. I loved Tommy and how he accepted what Dash does for a living — and how thoroughly he appreciated his skill. There was snark and steam and a fair amount of unaliving, all making for a thoroughly enjoyable read. This is book three in the multi-author series, The Elite, but each can be read as a standalone. Definitely recommend this one, and the series as a whole.
